PETERiCHY: DANGOTE refinery will soon come on stream and their bankers will start to benefit.
So for your health sake leave kobo kobo stocks and join the latest corruptions . GTB. ZENTH. ACCESS & UBA. as we await their Q2 results cum interim dividend.
A WORD is enough for the WISE! At the launch of the refinery on Monday, Aliko actually gave special mention to two banks only: ACCESS and Zenith. These are the two banks that will reap the most from Dangote Refinery. |

emmanuelewumi: If you know, you know.
Rental income is overrated as a source of passive income at retirement.
Income is erratic, tenants will owe you, spend money in order to eject tenants, rental income will be used for repairs and maintenance, government will levy you when you renovate the property.
It is damn too lousy
Unfortunately that is the route known by majority of the population I agree. Rental income has too much wahala from my family's experience. One of our troublesome tenants in the past destroyed our property and left faeces on the property before vacating. Nigerians can be wicked so we don't bother with renting out property anymore. All my Naira income from my usual hustle I simply plough back into stocks of all the FUGAZ banks (except FBHN) in equal measure and just chill for dividends. Price movements don't affect me much, only the pain of Naira devaluation. |

onegentleguy: With this we can do a rough estimate to determine the vol of GTBANK you hold in your portfolio.
A quick math...
Assuming that V is the vol you hold in GTB, then V x N2.80 (ref: YE, 2022 final div cash flow)= GDA (Gross dividend amount) paid.
Let GDA= y Then y--0.1y= N4,250,086.04 (Note that 0.1y connotes 10% WHT on the value of y) So 0.9y= N4,250,086.04 Hence y= N4,250,086.04/0.9= N4,722,317.82222
Therefore y (GDA) which is your Gross div amount= N4,722,317.82222.
But V x N2.80= y (GDA) So V= N4,722,317.82222/2.80= 1,686,542 unit approximately. ...while you may have bought some of your equity stake in GT earlier, this gives us a clue of your holding.
I,686,542 unit of GTBANK. ...now that's quite a lot!
I dare say that you have built for yourself a great source of passive income... especially if you also hold similar stakes in other 1st tier lenders and/or blue-chip companies.
Do enjoy your dividend but try not to get intoxicated.
Kudos bro! Tuale baba! You be maths genius! Yes, that's the exact amount of shares I had as at the close of share register. I bought more after markdown sha, and might buy more tomorrow with some of the dividend I got today. |

It looks like the dividend hunters are winning especially with stocks like GTCO and Zenith. You chopped dividend, and the stock price is almost at pre-dividend markdown levels. |

emmanuelewumi: Don't be surprised if the power sector business of Transcorp is carved of the Transcorp group and then listed as a separate company.
It happened with Transcorp Hotel, and might happen again with Transcorp Power.
So be very careful and seek second opinion as per the purported value in Transcorp .
Things don't always go as expected with cowboys That is actually TOE's plan. |

GTCO and Zenith are huge steals at current prices. Don't be waiting for N15 and N12. Whatever happens in the election tribunal one thing is certain: Whoever is going to be our next president will not - and cannot be a total sh*t show like Buhari was. Buhari was an 8-year plague to Nigeria. So I expect things to pick up. Bull is coming. |

emmanuelewumi: Controlling shareholder can't have everything to themselves , all the other shareholders with 5% shareholdings and above are usually sorted out
When Coscharis was on the board of Access Bank all their official cars and those customers bought through auto loan were sold by Coscharis Motors. True. Only that in Tony's companies no other shareholder owns above 5% except him so he is Alpha in all his companies. Do people realize that the Falcon 7X private jet TOE uses everywhere is actually owned and paid for by UBA? Why is a non-executive chairman of a bank using a bank-owned jet for non–bank business? Corporate governance and shareholder activism has a long way to go in Nigeria. |

emmanuelewumi: About 6 years ago, Heirs charged Africa Prudential Registrar N100 million per annum as fund management fees, this was challenged at the AGM and they had to stop that.
All APR needed to do was to buy Treasury Bills or commercial papers with the excess cash or unclaimed dividend, why pay someone N100 million every year for doing that for you And these are the sort of things Tony does with ALL his companies that are on the NGX. UBA, UCAP, Transcorp and AfPrud are way more profitable than they let out, but there are always creative ways to chop a company. That's why control is so important to them. |
