Today is GTBank Dividend day!!!

It's a good day. So if you see me on Friday night at your local bar, greet me with the code word "NSEMPA" for your two free bottles of Star Lager and your choice of either Asun or Isi Ewu. grin

That Moneymanager guy that is always screenshoting Bloomberg whenever banking stocks even lose 1 Kobo, trying to cause panic unnecessarily, where is he today?

which shareholders. The ones from the moon I guess and not the ones in Nigeria .That man they call sunny nwosu is always at all AGM representing his stomach.Anybody who knows him should tell him he is a disgrace to his family. He is part of Nigeria problem
I can't even hate on this Sunny Nwosu n*gga. He found his niche...his pot of soup (so-called shareholder activism in Nigeria), and he is milking it for all its worth. I hate the dude, but he has my respect for his hustling spirit.

Please guys help me. I have never done this stock and share thing before. Is it possible to buy shares of a company and participate in dividend share after the dividend has been announced. Ejo edakun. A message popped up on trove, to buy stanbic share, because they want to share dividend soon.
If you buy shares between now and the 7th of April (which is their qualification date), you will get dividend and bonus shares if you hold those shares till 10th of June.

Now look at it huh undecided

Perhaps the good book was right when it said the blind leading the blind undecided huh
Lol. GTBank was marked down today sha. So calm down. Both of these stocks are not the kind of stocks you should seek to create any kind of panic over.

GTBank and Zenith still remain the best stocks in Nigeria on every parameter. GTBank is better because they are more fiscally efficient, and their corporate governance is better. These are the things foreign investors look at. Zenith is also good, but it comes across as a one-man bank to many people considering that Jim Ovia is Alpha and Omega in that bank. It is also less efficient.

It seems my email caused ''gbosgbas'' at Afriprud office today...Lol.

Imagine, I've received 5 emails already in less than 5 hours! The same office that did not acknowledge my emails since last week.

In Nigeria, miracle happens when you know/involve people at the top! Naija I hail ooo!!
Obong Idiong is a very serious guy. I know him, and I respect and admire him a lot. He doesn't joke with excellence. I'm pretty sure he must have been very pissed off that your request went unattended to for a while. Good thing you copied him.

Zenith Bank CEO Ebenezer Onyeagwu just spent N110 million buying an additional 5 million Zenith Bank shares at N22.30 and N22.65.

What more assurance do you need?

Buhari might be horrible, and the economy might be shit. But these tier-1 banks especially Guaranty and Zenith will always eat good no matter how terrible the global economy is. If Nigerian banks could make big money in 2020, they WILL always make big money. I see Zenith Bank getting to N35 this year, and GTBank to N45...inasmuch as I want them both to come down so that I can pick up at bargain prices.

I agree with you that it most likely will go south. NSE does not exist in isolation. The economy is battered. The inflation rate is 17+%, interest rate is rising and money is leaving NSE. Foreign investors are nowhere around. External reserve is going down. Insecurity rising. unemployment raising. Please be sincere to yourself where is the stimulus to raise the market. Remember the capital market is the barometer of the economy.
Lol. You should understand by now that whatever happens in the economy does not affect the NSE in anyway. The NSE here has a mind of its own.
