AlphaLion: All these useless analysts with their doom and gloom.
Nigeria don cast. NSE is a waste.
And so? Who here asked for your opinion?
Go to travel and politics section and ply your trade there. You will meet plenty supporters. Invest in your crypto or whatever and chop your dollars, let us hear word.
Leave us with our naira. Don't clog this important thread with your nonsense. Exactly! With all due respect, this STNWAUME guy is a clown. His posts are always gloomy -- about how the Naira is rubbish, how it doesn't make sense to invest in Naira assets or the NSE, how the Nigerian economy is tanking, bla bla bla. Oga, we get it! We have heard you. Now, run along! Leave us to enjoy our Naira investments in peace. Why are you crying more than the bereaved? I can't imagine how badly burnt this STNWAUME guy got on the NSE that he is still so pained that all he has is sour grapes...always trying to discourage people from investing. If you don't geddifok. For all the nonsense Nigeria is going through under the dullards we have as leaders, there are still a myriad of opportunities even in the equities market that beat devaluation and inflation. People who got in last year circa March/April and are holding till now are still sitting pretty. You just need to figure out your strategy for investing in Nigeria. That you failed woefully with yours does not mean that others would follow your footsteps. Go and eat your dollars or crypto in peace and stop derailing this esteemed forum. |

emmanuelewumi: Trade.
Pension Fund Managers, Mutual Fund Managers, Insurance companies, Corporate bodies and HNI don't pay the same commission with retail investors
If your portfolio is N100 million and above, some Stockbrokers will send bag of Rice, Turkey, Drinks etc to you during Christmas and other festive periods.
I think Meristem does that This is true. My friend who uses Meristem gets goodies from them during christmas. Investment One used to send me hamper for christmas and then they stopped last year. I was angry with them. Maybe I should port to Meristem. Investment One allows me buy and sell shares with a commission of 0.5% like Morgan. I don't know if it's possible to negotiate it lower than that because it's still upsetting paying 7 figures on commissions on both the buy and sell side. |

onegentleguy: On the part in bold, here's a clue... Will try to make it simple.
Assuming we decide to assign Nos to every alphabetical letter(whether in ascending or descending order) then the name of the coy X consist of 2 words... where the sum of the 1st and last letter of the 1st word is equal to the sum of the 1st and last latter of the 2nd word.
The coy X is at present a great way to seek for the VALUE BEHIND THE PRICE of an asset. Put differently, feasible REWARD is currently making a mockery of inherent risk. There's a 99% prob that it's next quarter financial print shall mark the beginning of a point of inflection. (to the + direction) Last 2Q report already gave a clue.
When is the best time to key in? NOW!
CAVEAT: The need for due diligence should still take higher precedence ahead of this post. When in doubt, pls do well to follow ur instinct.

Lion123: Lol. Someone is desperate to jumpout of Transcorp. Love to see it.
Anyway, let me tell you all something as someone who is actually in the know. I know we are mostly anonymous here and we can all claim anything, but some of us actually have access to quality information because of actual proximity to some of these ogas.
Oga UBA/Transcorp/AfriPrud/UCAP is in severe financial distress. He has bitten a lot more than he can chew...with his philanthropy (which is really just a clout-chasing exercise since he loves attention); the multibillion mansion he just built in Ikoyi, and a lot of his business deals which haven't really panned out as he had hoped. Lol. We are talking about a man who announced he would give billions in covid relief, and then went and begged Emefiele to allow him/UBA give only N200 million or so. You people don't know Oga UBA/Transcorp. The ULTIMATE clout chaser! Don't be surprised his companies' results are audio. He is sitting on way too much debt, and guess who is footing the bill for his large debts? His companies. It's why UBA with its brilliant 2020 result declared a pitiful dividend. Because there is no money. All the bank's money is going to service Oga's various Gbese loans. He is desperate for cash. But he is smart. In order to keep up appearances, he made sure a couple of his companies...UCAP and AfriPrud declared good dividends to maintain the facade. But he is struggling and all his companies will foot the bill. For all its audio earnings, Transcorp won't pay any attractive dividend anytime soon. Take that to the bank.
Also, investors in UCAP and AfriPrud should brace themselves because it's only a matter of time before Oga comes for their dividends to fulfil his obligations. Prepare for lower dividends even in the face of 'great' results. Did anyone see UBA's ridiculous dividend for 2020 coming? Think about it: With UBA's great results, why a reduced dividend when the bank hasn't embarked on any acquisitions or any other endeavors that required so much cash?
Oga is a Nigerian Bernie Madoff waiting to unravel. His fellow chairmen all laugh at him.
Bottom line. Transcorp is sh*t. Don't be fooled. Stay away. I say this as someone who was monkey-hunted since the early days of this forum and the good old days of StockMarketNigeria. I have learned a lot..earned my stripes. Don't be fooled by Transcorp and the guys peddling it. For short-termers who understand the psychology of the markets, you might get lucky if you're nimble. For others, you'll likely get burnt. Stay away! Wale Tinubu and Mofe Boyo were once the bright, shiny thing in business until they/Oando unravelled. It is to their credit that they were able to navigate their various challenges and not get completely cancelled. When Oga UBA/Transcorp unravels, everyone will know what time it is. Stay away from Transcorp. |
