Na that one? Or make he relocate go another place

I detest seeing people living in a place and still cursing the place.

Its not only childish, it means you're living as a coward prisoner, who'd rather live his short life among thorns , while gnashing his teeth every days of his life, when in reality, he could just free himself and go live peacefully in his own lovely domain
What if he has no domain or means of exiting the current realm?

Please can educate us on the exact underlying problems in this instance?

I think there should be a gov policy to make such companies list to grow the NGX, just like the Buhari gov got MTN to list.

Btw did you see them declaring N300b profit? If they were listed it will be loss they declare with all sorts of excuses like FX losses. The ways companies cheat investors and escape taxes is too much.
I believe that any business generating over $1 billion in revenue, including government-owned enterprises, should be required to list on the stock market. This would greatly enhance accountability and transparency within our socio-economic landscape as a nation.

What are the excuses? Have you visited the bank in person? Bankers like to stonewall liquidation but they have no option once you show seriousness.

Is it about people in Abuja being superior, or Abuja itself being a superior region since it's the seat of government?
Does this logic applies to states and their capitals?

Legal discussions involve a lot of complexities. That is what they use to hold us down. They can interpret the law as they like based on who paid higher.
This is common sense and shouldn't be complicated. It's quite shocking that any educated person would argue that people from Abuja are superior Nigerians.

Blessedman98:
Money central owned by who?

This shameful fight btwn NNPC and Dangote ain't ending soon I guess
Focus on the message, not the messenger. Do you understand the logistics involved in moving 111 million liters of fuel by road in just three days? It's quite a challenge. Meanwhile, the spokesperson for Dangote has been uncharacteristically silent, failing to respond to the NNPC's press release regarding the purchase cost and selling price for the last three days.

Politics / Re: Why NNPC May Not Lift Dangote Petrol On Sunday by lionshare: 6:13pm On Sep 11
descarado:

Do you know Nigeria has some private refineries already and modular ones. Though they are not up to dangote capacity at the moment.

Whom do they sell to?

That is the main question.
they’re not consequential in terms of their volume besides they don’t produce PMS.
Politics / Re: Why NNPC May Not Lift Dangote Petrol On Sunday by lionshare: 4:08pm On Sep 11
brain54:

Pls explain...?
With competitors like NNPC and major marketers importing PMS, the market will become too competitive for him to make a profit. In a monopoly situation, he could set prices or even request subsidies while selling at higher prices compared to imports.
Politics / Re: Why NNPC May Not Lift Dangote Petrol On Sunday by lionshare: 12:19pm On Sep 11
brain54:

If he sells internationally...

Economies of scale would be at play - Selling domestically allows Dangote to optimize logistics and reduce transportation costs.

That's what I meant by reduced profit margins!
Logical assumption but that would mean that he really needs to have a monopoly of the Nigerian market to stay profitable.

Politics / Re: Oando’s Market Value Jumps From N70bn To N1 Trillion In Tinubu’s First Year by lionshare: 1:15pm On Sep 04
Namaster:

Bro, you don't know what you are talking about.

Issuing shares is NOT a surefire way to increase market capitilsation. In fact, it has the potential to dilute the value of the company's shares.

Issuing shares would REDUCE the Dividends per Share since MORE people would be partaking in the dividends than if the company did not issue the share.

As such, people may be tempted to SELL off their holdings rather than risk a reduction in income. That could result in a reduction in the PRICE per share.

As a result, issuing more shares could result in a REDUCTION of market capitalisation, ZERO change in market capitalisation or a MARGINAL increase in market capitalisation.

You DON'T magically increase your capitalisation by issuing MORE shares.

Oando was an OKAY company. But Oando does NOT have what it takes to SUDDENLY add #926 BILLION to its market value in just ONE year without Tinubu's CORRUPT influence.

A 1,000X LEAP in value is something that may be possible for TECH companies with CONSTANT CRAZY innovations NOT an energy company that does NOT know the first thing about INNOVATION.

I asked you before and I'll ask again:

Has Oando ever been worth ONE TRILLION NAIRA in its previous 67 years of existence?
Even when its shares were selling for #200 each?
Has it?

Your BULLSHIT will only fly when you're talking to financially-uneducated folks. Not me.
there’s way too much ignorance in this post. Pls Google NSEMPA—you’ll find more than enough learning materials to cure your ignorance.

let me tell you something, today £1=2150, so a poor man can not migrate, as things stands the migration rout today is 95% COS, which now cost more thanN35M, So tell me sir, Do you think a person with the ability to raise such sum is naïve or have a poor living standard?
Do you think that if all the people in rural Nigeria had the opportunity and means to relocate to urban areas, they wouldn't?

So where should an immigrant start?
You lot do not even realize that the English and the Americans actually clean toilets.
A person who migrates from a rural village in Edo State to Benin City, but still mentally and financially lives as if they are in their village, will likely agree with the original perspective. The stark differences in income and living standards between the two locations shape their views.

An immigrant in the Western world whose mindset is still spending and living mentally in his/her home country will likely agree with the OP.

How can you explain the head of one off Nigeria's apex security outfits leaving the office of the President only to be surrounded by waiting army of Press men ?

President called him to demand his resignation and go and address the press on his resignation.
this is the most likely scenario; typically if he’d resigned on his own it won’t be effective immediately.

The protest is tag,end bad governance. And you can take a trip to Kenya to ask the youth what they achieved in thr protest. The government was more interested in suppressing the protest instead of welcoming it and working round it to avoid the violent type..Have you seen the kind drastic policy change in kenya now. The genuine cut in cost of governance in alll quarters by 50% even with subsidy removal and forex unification can feed Nigerians well.

What exact drastic policy change has occurred: the reversal of the finance bill or the dismissal of all cabinet members, with about 50% replaced by same sacked members? Regarding your suggestion to reduce governance costs by 50%, how is that feasible without mass layoffs?

Exactly my thoughts. But why did the banks not report the revaluation in their balance sheet and leave it out from their comprehensive income. The banks might have brought this upon themselves
The windfall tax is a win-win---Banks made little profit in 2023 aside from FX gains. This one-off tax means banks can no longer significantly profit from FX speculation, likely leading to a stable Naira.
