A few observations:
The combined budget over the decade is about ₦241 trillion.

And do not forget these budgets were largely deficits, finance through borrowing.

So where would such amount be gotten to be stolen.

Again, that claim isn’t supported by the data. You’re repeating a narrative that doesn’t hold up. I asked a simple question you haven’t addressed: why is Dangote selling Nigerian-made cement in Ghana cheaper than he sells it in Nigeria? If electricity, logistics, and other production inputs were truly that expensive in Nigeria, would it even be possible for him to offer a lower price in Ghana?
I don’t buy the “high cost of production in Nigeria” argument. Production costs, just like living costs, are often relatively lower in Nigeria than in many West African countries, largely because of the size of the market.
Nigeria has a real competitive advantage in cement production, unlike rice production. In principle, cement should be cheaper here than in many neighboring markets, even before you account for scale.

* Pension funds.
* Investment funds.
* Wealthier Nigerians.

These groups see their investments increase in value.

How could it eventually help everyone?

If companies become more valuable, they can:

* Hire more workers.
* Pay more taxes.
* Expand production.

It’s impossible. There isn’t a single South East state that’ll return anything below 25%.

You lot clearly haven’t gotten the memo. There’s an internal power struggle within APC between the South East and South South. The absolute minimum either bloc needs to do to remain relevant in the succession conversation is deliver at least 25%. Anything less and they’re effectively out of the race.

As things stand, the South South is in pole position, thanks to its first-mover advantage and the fact that, unlike the South East in 2023, it didn’t put all its eggs in one basket.

The problem is that your reasoning is fundamentally flawed. As things stand, Nigeria simply does not have the financial resources to run an efficient, free, or low-cost healthcare system. It ultimately comes down to funding.

If you had simply said "FMDQ doesn't do same day settlement even for spot trades", that would have conveyed your point far better than this unnecessary complications and irrelevant points about timezones.

FMDQ FX spot trades settle on T+2. There are workarounds, but the core issue is that FPIs don't want to hold long naira exposure for obvious reasons. So the choice is either to put a workaround in place or call their bluff. Moving to T+1 comes with its own trade-offs, and I'm not convinced our reserves are strong enough to absorb the added pressure right now. If we had, say, $100+ billion in reserves, it would be a much easier transition to implement and manage.

Interestingly, you Tinubu supporters spend more time talking about isolated off-cycle elections than campaigning on his record over the past three years. If that record were as convincing as you suggest, surely it would be the centerpiece of the campaign rather than a list of by-election or off-cycle victories.

The facts staring Nigerians in the face aren't just election results, they're the cost of living, fuel pump prices, gas prices, food prices, jobs, and security. Nigerians know that they have been worst off and will be unwilling to walk this path for another four years. Those are the realities that will shape the next presidential election.

Between 2011–2015, while PDP controlled the presidency, the opposition was steadily winning major off-cycle elections:

* Edo — ACN beat PDP
* Ondo — LP beat PDP
* Anambra — APGA beat PDP
* Osun — APC beat PDP
* Ekiti — PDP won

Meaning PDP lost 4 out of 5 major off-cycle elections before eventually losing the presidency in 2015.

Since APC took power in 2023, the reverse has happened:

* Imo — APC won
* Kogi — APC won
* Bayelsa — PDP won
* Edo — APC won
* Ondo — APC won

So APC has won 4 out of 5 major off-cycle elections so far.

That’s the difference. Before 2015, the opposition was building visible electoral momentum against the ruling party. Today’s opposition simply hasn’t shown that same momentum yet.

The constitution of Nigeria makes the president a demi-god, the powers given to him is insane. Imagine a constitution that allows the president to appoint INEC chairman, it's like being a judge in your own case. He decides who becomes the senate President and speaker neutralising any check on him.

It's only old age and ill health that may stop him but a Boko haram VP will be worse as president.

The same applies to Uncle Sam and to most countries with centralized electoral systems. I think the idea is that the president is perhaps the most trusted citizen in a democracy, even though he may directly benefit from his own decisions.

I agree and I’ve been thinking about it, thou its not as if I have any power to bring it to accomplishment but he’s a very rugged politician that knows how to read the polity and port at the right time. The way he got into Asiwaju’s good books even after been an opposition politician to Buhari for 8 years needs to be studied.

He never decamped all through but remained a very strong party faithful. His hold on godfatherism is absolute, has a heart of a leader that Nigeria needs. If God spares his life, he will go far on the leadership ladder.

I wish Dangote could be president with Wike as vice president — I believe their partnership would deliver greater benefits for Nigerians.
