Bros no talk that one two times. The Akwa Ibom people who are well k known by this soup put Periwinkles as a very important ingredient. The one you suck while eating the soup. As for me I use the already removed one and i make sure I buy the big fresh one. In fact you don't know what you are missing. Afang soup without periwinkles, who does that?!

Its jes lyk sayn "food wtout meat,who does dt?"....Personally i lyk mfi (still in d shell),buh not evry1 is efik/ibibio n chances r not every1 cn get it(not readily available evrywer) + not evry1 lyks it...Ds is jes a basic 4 ppl dt want 2 learn,after learnin any1 cn add woteva he/she wants 2 d soup

Your theory is wrong. The essence of cooking the waterleaf is not to change the colour but to dry up the water. If it's Afang pls leave it for the Aks people to explain the preparation procedures.

This your afang soup na wa. Onga and meat ingredients? And then dry fish after waterleaf, no stockfish? You overcook your waterleaf from the way you are waiting for it to change colour. Others have talked on periwinkles. And also you don't turn the soup immediately you put your afang in.

If u don't cook d waterleaf till it changes colour,d afang soup will be drawing
