Na wetin I dey tell people be this; when the effects of the whole subsidy removal hits us all people go understand say supporting the removal on paper is different from actually living through the times that is to come.

People wey dey always call/text requesting for urgent 2k to solve personal problems will meet a lot of brick wall cos even the person u are soliciting his help is also dealing with very little disposable income. Imagine after filling ur car tank for 25k , a friend who is in need calls u for cash....No be to respectfully decline his request.
To fill my car 4 times in a month is 100k.
Blood of Jesus 😂😂.
My wife has been sad since morning because she understands how market will react to this.

Omo the painful part is FG is genuinely broke.
I don't even know when we will start seeing the gain of this decision

This is not gonna be easy. I pray Labour and FG come up with something meaningful after their meeting today.
Meaningful how?

Money nor dey oga.
Unless they roll back the subsidy and use the cash gotten from partial rollback to increase minimum wage for Nigerians or something.

If not then there's nothing and even if you say they should do that partial rollout, from what nnpc is saying the FG has not even being paying for subsidy for a while (which means no money again)

So this na our sad reality.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by liveLongNprospa(m): 3:25pm On May 31, 2023
So which money FG come dey tell us say them dey budget since for subsidy since nnpc is claiming the FG owes them.

Which kind wahala be this?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by liveLongNprospa(m): 3:23pm On May 31, 2023
From 9k to 25k to fill my tank.

This needs to happen in Lagos asap.
Personally any filling station caught should be made to pay a serious fine to the point that head office will hear and have all other branches behave well this period

No, not yet.

From what I understand though, subsidy payment is from nnpc, they remit whatever is left after as revenue to the government account after subsidy "under recovery is the name they used for it" has been paid.

What I expect to happen is for the revenue that nnpc will remit to the federation account to be increase exponentially. Nnpc is currently remitting almost zero to the federation account as profits.
Lmao oh nice

So now we all dey pray say the alert wey nnpc go drop go make sense.

What is your expectation because it seems nnpc has been secretive about their figures of what is borrowed to pay for subsidy and how much the projected revenue would look like without payment of revenue.

Plus why are we still doing this hidden stuff nnpc seeing that it is a Plc now or is there a change to that soon to make the numbers readily available
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by liveLongNprospa(m): 6:43pm On May 30, 2023
If we are borrowing money to pay subsidy, what happens when we stop paying subsidy?

Do we stop borrowing money?
What money is now being freed up if we borrow to pay?

Now let's assume all the money we paid for subsidy in recent times isn't borrowed.. How much is the free cash we have now since subsidy payment will stop?

I honestly hope we get answers to this abi larride you get the answer?

Anybody that expected government to pay for some form of palliative is joking.

Money nor dey but government should have shown working before this goof of yesterday.
Atleast in one month do something to earn small trust.

Now as usual citizens will bear the brunt and the value of what Nigerians earn is about to be wiped out.

How many projects actually pay itself back. Even those projects will take decades to pay itself back.

So maybe we should just leave other areas of development and focus only on those that can recoup itself for.

Its only on Nairaland that borrowing for projects is a crime.
Larride we do not have money.. It is expected that a bulk of the projects or infrastructure will be used for projects that would ensure we get value and returns even if it means government handing over the running of such a thing to the private sector.

In funding infrastructural development, our debt has blown up.
Oya now we have to look to those projects to generate.. It's not my fault the president could not see beyond his nose to actually plan what to do with our meagre funds.

Now what do we have to show for the infrastructure? Just debts...

How we go pay back nau?

What are you even saying exactly? How many country actually develop without a solid road infrastructure?

How many roads in the world actually pay back the money that was used to construct it? Or maybe we should just toll any roads that's being constructed so they can pay back the money used to construct it.

This kind arguments makes no sense.
But we have an issue with limited funds which means we have to use the available money we have to run projects that will fetch us investments back.
The roads that he has borrowed to fund, what are the economic benefits of those roads?

Security is not static. Insecurity is always ever changing with new dynamics. What Buhari met when he came was a country that Boko Haram as almost on its knee with some LG in control of these terrorist. That is no more.

Now the insecurity challenges has taken new dimensions with killers herdsman, kidnappers and bandits going on a spree leaving the security forces almost helpless.

Did Buhari handled the boko haram crisis better than he met it? Yes. Did he handle the crisis that ballooned during his tenure? No.

And buying military hardwares are actually important, if most of Buhari predecessors actually invested in the military as much as Buhari did, our capacity to confront these multiple threats would've been mightily increased. A military that was defunded cannot respond to multiple threats in different fonts.

Overall on security, Buhari did his best, reduced the hold of boko haram on the country but failed to nip rampaging fulani herdsman and bandit in the bud but with his military hardware acquisitions, hopefully PBAT will be able to tackle these security challenges and those that spring up during his tenure.
Lmao.. Please again I asked a simple question.

If you say the man bought and equipped the military more, how did security get worse?
Could it be that this "equipping the military" isn't as impactful (truthful) as the admin has been saying?
Or you are saying an ex general nor know anything about warfare
