thanks for the enlightenment.am good. Kobojunkie: ▶ Did Jesus Christ say in Revelations 2 that the churches He referred to were built by the hands of men or something? I am not certain I follow your line of reasoning here. Jesus Christ never sent any man out to build anything on His behalf so are you insinuating that the 7 lampstands referenced by the Jesus Christ character in that vision that John wrote of were put there by men on behalf of Jesus Christ? ▶ You asked why Jesus Christ never condemned the churches, and I wonder what book you have been reading since almost all of the letters written to each angel — not to the church itself — contains some sort of reprimand. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Any Advice For A Former Catholic Turned Christian?(am 18) by Livingdeath(op): 7:44am On May 25, 2024 |
but if he never asked them to build churches then he should have condemned those churches in revelation 2,instead he encourages them. Kobojunkie: 1. Um.... Jesus Christ never asked any man to build edifices or even church buildings using His name. He never commanded any man to collect money in His name. So, if you are under the impression that the church of Jesus Christ is some building or building somewhere, you are mistaken. Jesus Christ never built anything through men. He told you that He will build His church. So, the question is why do you not believe Him?
2. Jesus Christ specifically instructed His followers to go out and teach that which He already taught them to obey — His commandments and teachings, not some other person's. So, any "gospel" that differed from that which Jesus Christ taught His followers to speak using His name is a lie!
3. Jesus Christ never asked anyone to assign "church elders" using His name. So, what you see as the apostles assigning "church elders" is something that has nothing to do with Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ made that in His Kingdom, not only are all equal, but also those of them who love Him are those who obey His teachings and commandments. Nowhere in His Gospel Law of Jesus Christ will you find this assigning of church leaders instruction so why the conclusion that the disciples must have done it for Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ never aligned Himself with religion. He distanced Himself from them beginning with the very one that existed during His time, the same religion which His Father before Him had condemned - Ezekiel 34 vs 1 - 31 & John 10 vs 7 - 16. He condemned the doctrines and traditions of men as being nothing but lies meant to delude the many away from the Truth of God - Matthew 15 vs 1 - 14 & Mark 7 vs 1 - 13.
But, Christianity boasts of being modeled after the very same religion that Jesus Christ disavowed. Any wonder why it equally boasts of over 47,000 different lies referred to as interpretations all designed to diddle with the mind of those who would seek God's Truth. |

matthew 16:18 christ builds his church through his followers. revelation 2 tells us of how christ gives words of advice to his churches. Kobojunkie: 2. Jesus Christ never asked His followers to build churches using His name, and He never commanded anyone to attend what you would call church services in His Name. So, while faulting Catholicism, you should equally fault all of Christianity as well as all religions in this too.
Religion has absolutely nothing to do with God of Israel or Jesus Christ given that the many doctrines and traditions of men are lies when compared to the Word of God - Matthew 15 vs 1 - 14 & Mark 7 vs 1 - 13. |

so...the Israelites venerated Moses and the prophets? since they quoted moses laws and that of the prophets. Kobojunkie: This is a clear example of the problem I mentioned earlier. You fault the Catholics for venerating the dead yet here you are quoting a dead man who has yet to be judged by God. Veneration of the dead isn't just that which the catholic do but even that which all other religions do when they quote a man as though he is some sort of god over them. 😂😂😂😂 |

that is where the Catholic church finds fault, the answer you gave said you guys love her because she is God's mother-totally against luke 11:27-28 where Jesus states that blessed are those that hear God's word and keep it,meaning Jesus puts Mary's obedience to God over her birthing him as being worthy of praise. so then with it being established that God valued Mary's obedience over her being his son's mother, why should she then be given so much honour? all the men of God in the Bible obeyed God,so why dont we build their statues? or sing praises to them?or pray to them?or make rosaries for them. another thing is,why did they call Mary most gracious advocate? they are literally stealing the Holy spirit's post! immortalcrown: I have attached the Catholic interpretation of what you posted. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Any Advice For A Former Catholic Turned Christian?(am 18) by Livingdeath(op): 4:54pm On May 24, 2024 |
God took me from the church because the "Catholic church" is not a christian church.but now within the catholic church there are some of them who are actually christians who dont follow in their false teachings but hold only the teaching that christ is the Saviour. and please, every catholic church prays to mary and the saints. If you are praying your rosary,do you say it is a 'prayer with mary'? dont you say 'prayer to mary'? just like the prayer 'to' st michael the archangel? so its a norm for catholics to pray to her, even more blasphemous of the Catholic church is when st alfonso de ligouri wrote a book called the "Glories of Mary" a famous catholic book in which he stated that we should pray to Mary as a mediator and look to her as an object of trust for answered prayers and that she rules one half of God's kingdom, she rules the kingdom of mercy while Jesus rules justice(limiting christ) and also there is not just one teaching that the Catholic church wants you to see as divine revelation, there are numerous. like the veneration of Mary, confession to a priest, baptism of infants, eucharist being the true body and blood of christ. none of these have 'solid' roots in scripture. immortalcrown: At first, you claimed that Catholics are not Christians. You later admitted that the statement is wrong.
You claimed that God took you away from the Catholic because Catholics are not Christians. You later said that God did not tell you that Catholics are not Christians. This shows that you tried using your sentiment to condemn Catholics.
Now, answer the following questions: 1. You have said that the Catholic taught you to pray to Mary. Please which Catholic parish or Catholic priest taught you to pray to Mary?
2. I asked again, what is that teaching of men that the Papacy present to you as God's law? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Any Advice For A Former Catholic Turned Christian?(am 18) by Livingdeath(op): 3:24pm On May 24, 2024 |
well God didnt condemn them, but when someone reads scripture and knows Christ as he is you will know that their teachings are not in line the Catholic church tells us to pray to mary, those that sound like something God would say? its just a false tradition. praying to mary is like telling Christ that he isnt all powerful or all loving or all caring. jesus loves you more than anyone does, who else can sacrifice his life for you? mary? so asking mary to pray for you is the same thing as saying she shows mercy more than jesus.she doesnt need to pray for you,Jesus is in charge.did he ever tell us in scripture to pray to his mum? funny thing is Jesus should have joined the woman who blessed mary's womb in blessing too.but he immediately shut down every unecessary honour given to his mother luke 11:27-28 jesus is not disrespecting her or anything but the unknown woman was praising mary for giving birth to him(what catholics do by magnifying her motherhood) instead jesus gives praise to those who hear God's word and keep it,which mary did and all other great men and women of God in the Bible.veneration of Mary is a tradition of men which the church twists to look like it came from God. immortalcrown: 1. Did God condemn Catholics in your vision? If yes, what exactly did God tell you against them?
2. What is that teaching of men that the Papacy presents as God's law? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Any Advice For A Former Catholic Turned Christian?(am 18) by Livingdeath(op): 2:51pm On May 24, 2024 |
remember you went against me saying that catholics arent christians,so I gave this testimony to show that they are not, cause if they were doing what a christian church does God would not have brought me out from among them. but then I want to correct myself. the Catholic church in its traditions is not a christian church but some catholics are actually faithful christians. immortalcrown: [sub][/sub]I carefully read all you wrote here. 1. No part of it justifies the caption of this thread.
2. No part of it identifies any teaching of men that the Papacy presents as a law of God. |

ok,this is my final bullet am gonna shoot here. a year ago, back then when my faith in the Catholic church was as strong as ever,I could even defend the faith against protestants! then one night I had a dream in which I saw myself in confusion then a group of women dressed in your typical church choir girl clothes(white and blue) came and grabbed me away from the place the confusion was.then I was at ease with myself.they gathered round me and started laying hands praying for me....many prayers actually but the one prayer I heard very clearly was "I bless you with the gift of discernment" then the dream ended. so from that day I have been asking God to make that gift to discern come alive.with prayer and fasting.so then this year when i returned exhausted from school I just decided to read God's word,it was a long time I did that tho. so while reading I stummbled on matthew 15:9.which Jesus condemned putting teachings of men as God's own laws. And then immediately my mind just envisioned the catholic church...from that day I started losing faith in the church,I read more of the Bible and saw the diffs with what The Holy See or the Papacy teaches.then one day I decided to stop beating around the bush.I prayed to God that he should enlighten me on if I should leave the church or stay,I prayed with my room mate at that time.that very night God's voice visited me in a dream, that was really quick😅thanks God! cause I was expecting him to answer maybe like months or weeks from now or something, but he is God am I right? so the voice told me to go to the chapel of the good shephard(a bible teaching church on campus of which I had no idea it even existed)and I did,and right now I feel so much better right now,like...like I know this is what God wants for me. people might come now and find some fault in what I said or oppose me,but I dont care! all I know is that God gave me when I asked and he has saved me! "my soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my saviour, for he has regarded the low estate of his servant. for behold, all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. and his mercy on those who fear him from generation to generation. He has shown strength with his arm, he has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts, he had put down the mighty from their thrones , and exalted those of low degree; he has filled the starving with good things, and the rich he has sent empty away. He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, as he spoke to our fathers,to Abraham and to his posterity forever" immortalcrown: whatever you think about the Catholics respecting the Virgin Mary does not matter here. What matters here is that you have not been able to use any bible passage to condemn the act of respecting the Virgin Mary. Therefore, you have no fact against the Catholic Church in this case. |

...respect the virgin mary....which one? the one not knowing what is going on in your life and chilling in Heaven? she is already being honoured-by God who accepted her into heaven, that is the honour of those who believe in christ.so she doesnt need all these praise. immortalcrown: What you dropped here proves you wrong and proves me right. Things like baptism and the holy communion mentioned in what you dropped here are not condemned even in Pentecostal Churches and in the holy Bible. What you dropped here, epecially the concluding part, explains that there are Christians in the Roman Catholic Church. That concluding part backs up my claim that the caption of your post is very wrong. If you think it is right for you to refer to Catholics as non-Christians, then you yourself should disagree with the concluding part of what you yourself dropped here for me. You contradict yourself so much when you refer to Catholics and non-Christians and you still believe the article that says that there are Christians in the Catholic.
Also, you are just beating around the bush. You listed seven points out of which the 6th and the 7th ones are based on your sentiments. I countered those 7 points and challenged you to use the Bible to prove me wrong. You are unable to use the Bible to prove me wrong. So what exactly do you intend to achieve?
Point out where the holy Bible says it is wrong for me to ask a friend or a saint to pray for me. Point out where the holy Bible says it is wrong for the Catholic or for anyone to use candle to represent light in the Church. Point out where the Bible says it is wrong to respect anybody or to respect the virgin Mary. Until you do this, you have no fact against the Catholic Church.

Christianity Etc › Re: Any Advice For A Former Catholic Turned Christian?(am 18) by Livingdeath(op): 11:39am On May 24, 2024 |
look,i know that catholics would always find a way to justify themselves sha....but let me just drop this. immortalcrown: 1. The Catholic uses candle to signify the presence of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the light of the world. Candle provides light to symbolise the light of Christ. The pure wax is a symbol of the purity of Christ. That's why the Catholic uses white candles. In some cases, they use oil and a white cylindrical container like a candle to provide the light. That is why they don't use another colour of candle. They also use the candle to create an atmosphere for prayer, having used the candle to signify the presence of Jesus Christ. This is what the Catholic doctrine says about the use of candles in the Catholic Church. Any other interpretation you give it is made up by you.
2. The Catholic never says that whoever goes for the holy Mass while living in sin will go to Heaven. Even whichever Church you have joined now believes that you going to Church takes you closer to salvation. Does your own Church tell you that not going to Church is better than going to Church? So, your point in this case is childish and doesn't deserve much of my time.
3. "Papal infallibility refers to. It means that when a pope formally defines a matter of church teaching, referring to something of faith or morality, he is protected by the Holy Spirit from teaching error. So whatever he says in this context has no error in it.
It’s important to note what papal infallibility does not mean. It does not mean that popes are sinless; that’s what “immaculate” means (as in “Immaculate Mary”). It doesn’t even mean that when he does teach infallibly, he does so in the clearest manner possible.
It also does not mean that everything a pope teaches is infallible. Again, it applies only when a pope is formally defining a matter of Church teaching. So with regard to Pope Francis’ interview, for instance, that was not a formal definition of Church teaching, and hence is not an instance of papal infallibility."
4. The Catholics do not ask the saints to save them. They ask the saints to pray (intercede) for them. It is like you asking your friend or your pastor to pray for you. Saints are believed to be closer to God since they are believed to have lived a holy life. That's why the Catholics ask the saints for intercessions. The Bible does not condemns this. Point out any bible verse that condemns it.
5. You have not pointed out any falsehood in Catholic concerning Mary. Does the Bible tell you that Mary sinned? If yes, which part of the Bible? Mary calling Jesus Christ her saviour is a sign of respect and humility towards Jesus Christ, just as Jesus Christ allowing himself to be baptised by John. Does the baptism of Jesus Christ mean Jesus was a sinner and could not have entered Heaven without the baptism?
Talking about the veneration of Mary, are you saying that the mother of Jesus Christ does not deserve to be respected? Answer this question.
6. "Chrislam" is not a word in any language and has no meaning. You invented it and have to deal with it alone. How has the Pope disobeyed God? Be precise.
7. Your assertion about Rome has no connection with the Catholic doctrines we know today. Even the Catholics admit that some of the earlier leaders of the Catholic Church committed some atrocities. So, why do you act as if the Catholics and their doctrines justify those atrocities commited in the Church in the past? Is there any of those atrocities that Catholicism supports? If yes, mention that atrocity and the doctrine that supports it. Your argument here is like saying that northern Christian is not a Christian because his or her parents were Muslims. Your logic here is like saying that the sin of your pastor nullifies the Christianity of every member of your Church. Also, have you not read about Saul accepting Christ after committing atrocities in the Bible? Did Christ reject him? So, if some of those who committed those atrocities in the past in the Catholic repented before dying, are you implying that they can't make Heaven?

1.long process of exorcism: catholic priests use candles, rosaries, relics, holy water and the likes just to cast out demons where as the apostles did so in his name alone. 2.salvation through the church: the Catholic church teaches that coming to mass, going for confession etc and other 'works' of charity is what will save you where as the bible teaches faith in jesus is what will save 3.the infallibility of the pope:only God is infallible, then why is the pope claiming that for himself? anyone who says he is not a sinner calls God a liar . 4.asking intercession from the dead in christ: hebrews 4:14-16 tells us that we have christ as our perfect high priest, the Bible tells us that he along with the Spirit intercedes on our behalf...then why do we need the 'saints'?they cant even hear you. and the dead should not be interferring with the living. Abraham explains that the people have the prophets to guide them not some dead guy luke 16:27-29 5.the eternal virginity and veneration of Mary: Mary doesnt deserve all what catholics do to her.wait now and think, imagine if the actual Mary we know from the bible suddenly comes to our modern world and sees all the statues and rosaries, she will never accept such! her Magnificat tells us who she was.a lowly servant of God thriving to do God's will and she acknowledged herself as a sinner by calling God her savior.catholics twist the Bible too much,it is so clear that Mary had other kids apart from jesus, then why he marry her in the first place? matthew 1:25 6.Chrislam: mr pope has disobeyed the Bible. paul warned against christians being influenced by pagan religions 2 corinthians 6:14-18 7.the Vatican: nothing good comes from Rome! that evil empire who is the fourth beast in Daniel's book, who captured God's people and forced them to pay taxes?who attempted to kill baby jesus?who killed john the baptist?who crucified the Lord?who persecuted the apostles and believers?who slayed a number of christians in the year 1555 to 1559 by a pope? I cannot go back to catholic church,i have seen their dark secrets, these stuffs I listed are just few of false catholic teaching. I dont want to go to hell ooo. immortalcrown: Kindly mention those catholic doctrines that are not biblically right. Give an explanation for each one you mention. |

catholics arent really christians in the spiritual sense, they follow Christ with their mouths but their doctrines are not in accordance with his words.they are the kind of people the Lord will rebuke and say he does not know them despite them doing miracles in his name. immortalcrown: You are not yet a Christian. No Christian will caption a post as you do here. I see that you want to be a Christian but you are still very fanatic and narrow-minded probably because of your environment and your young age. Your caption means you see Catholics as non-Christians. No Christian will say such. As a matter of fact, Catholics do not refer to Orthodox people and Pentecostal people as non-Christians. But you who think you are more Christian than Catholics refer to Catholics as non-Christians. This is why the Bible says that he who thinks he stands should be careful to avoid falling. |

okayo. well, all this debating is going no where obviously, but all I know is that I answered your post's question and that I have too much fate in jesus being God to see him as something lower...a minor god. my life is a living testimony of the supremacy of jesus christ as God,the thing is we all have our beliefs, only time will tell. MaxInDHouse: I have replied you that it's a sacred secret among God's people not what we preach outside. For instance according to God's word Elijah will return to prepare the way for the Christ {Malachi 4:5} but in the first century nobody saw Elijah rather John the baptist was the one who came to prepare the way for Jesus {John 1:23} ironically the Jews came to ask John the baptist if he is Elijah who will prepare the way for the Christ but he responded "NO" {John 1:21} it was after the transfiguration that Jesus declared (not to all the people) but only his closest confidants that John the baptist is Elijah! Matthew 17:10-13
Now tell me how do you think the disciples can go preaching in the public that John the baptist (who publicly said he is not Elijah) is the same Elijah the Jews are expecting?
That's why i said some things are best left as secret within believers it's until one becomes a believer that we will start telling him or her such deep secrets for now whatever we preach publicly is what you and i can debate not things meant for mature minds! |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Are So Many Christians Against Jehovah Witnesses ? Why ? by Livingdeath(m): 1:32pm On Apr 11, 2024 |
well...I have already given you all my answers, but the post said why christians dislike jw,so me saying they believe that michael is christ is just me stating one of the reasons other christian denominations behave like that towards jw. you replied me when i said they dont believe jesus is God,now reply me when i say they believe michael is christ😉☺ MaxInDHouse: Did i discuss that with you?
Come on, it's whatever i discuss with you that we can debate on.
For instance if you believe in TRINITY and you are keeping to the dogma as long as you didn't raise it i have no business with whatever they taught you about TRINITY it's between you and your fellow believers but when discussing with me who doesn't believe in your TRINITY if you make reference to it then you must quote where it's found WRITTEN in the Bible.
So i believe that Jesus is Archangel Michael but i never preached it to you because it's a sacred secret among God's modern day servants you and i can only debate on what i present to you not what i was taught to believe! |
