Webmasters / Re: Is Blogger Still A Good Platform To Use by LMServices: 1:52pm On Feb 02, 2021

Whats your view on the blogger platform and is still preferable to wordpress
Blogger is a good platform but more tilted towards hobby blogging than anything. Sadly, its downsides are greater than its benefits. If you one takes out the fact that it is free away, there are no other things that Blogger provides that makes it worth the while.

1. It is greatly limited and restricted.
2. A single DCMA notice against one of your contents can get your whole blog deleted.
3. Safe to say you are at the mercy of Blogger and your level of control is only about 5%.
4. Customizations are limited.
5. A new WordPress Blog will outrank a new Blogger blog if started on the same day (from previous experiences).
6. Media attachments and manipulation are greatly limited that it makes it difficult when compared WordPress.

Anyone who is very serious about blogging will not take Blogger serious in this day and time. And migrating from Blogger to WordPress will hurt a blog's ranking when it is initiated. Some blogs never recover from it.

I wouldn't recommend Blogger for serious blogging.

Webmasters / Re: Whogohost Has Been Down Since Yesterday! by LMServices: 5:35pm On Jan 24, 2021
VLadipo:
Hello,

My website on Whogohost.com has been down since yesterday.

On trying to load my website, I get the message "HTTP ERROR 500"

I have contacted their customer care since yesterday and all they can tell me is that they can look into the issue.

Is anyone using Whogohost having similar experience?

Thank you.
Error 500 is an internal error and not necessarily your hosting providers.

Hello everyone,
I am not tech savvy as most of you in this forum. I need your guide and advice.

I am proudly naija, nothing go change that.

I want to develop a website for my business but I have fears that I can't seem to get over my mind. So I say make I ask the sabi people for inside house.

Getting a website done, after the person delivers your site to you, how do you prevent them from sneaking into your website without your permission

I keep feeling like even after changing password, the developer go still saying how to sneak in to come sabotage wetin him give you to make more money from me with malware issues.

I honestly need help ....programmera in the house

Anyone?!!!
Hello, it is normal for your developer to hand over every details to you after the job is completed.

However, since you are not tech savvy, it is important that you get an established Web designer/developer so that you can quickly reach out to them to make certain changes or updates, where necessary. Most times, this is periodic.

Being skeptical with a developer is normal but it would seem weird to see a developer sneak into your website.

Should you need a trusted hand, you can reach out. We currently manage 8 of our clients websites.

Thank you but I heard wordpress gets slow if you have much products on the websites?
Not true at all. Since WordPress ecommerce is fully function-based, it is important to get the best hand to handle all parts from the start to the end. If there are conflicts, there are tendencies that your website will generate lots of errors and then become an issue later.

However, the right capacity (bandwidth-wise) must be chosen to properly power your ecommerce website. If this is sorted and the website is not bloated, then it will do excellently well, even with massive products. We have a client's site with massive products and it has never lagged one bit. The client has never complained of anything close before.

Our e-commerce website is hosted on opencart but we trying to move another platform because opencart is giving us problems. Please which platform will u recommend?
Magento is incredibly good but I will recommend WordPress. It is an open secret that Opencart sucks at bug fixes, upgrades and code structures. WordPress is way more flexible and upgrades are easy.

Integration and adjustments are limitless when it comes to structuring and addition. You can get the best out of WordPress if you get a savvy person to do the job.

The problem with Magento is that it is super difficult for developers and non developers and has slow loading time which could impact your ecommerce functionality. Regardless, WordPress is better recommended.

If at all you are considering or looking out for a developer or an agency to craft a beautiful ecommerce WordPress solution, we will be glad to work with you. Our contact details are below in the signature.
