Coldie:Students pay all fees directly to the federal government through Remita. No government university accepts fees from any student. |
I think this is a good move by the government so that the issue of a lecturer visiting up to six universities will be eradicated thereby necessitating employment of our jobless graduates to fill the obvious vacancies in most of these new and hinter universities. |
And the first commentator decided to foool himself with that foolish certificate |
Everybody has an opinion and ready to issue judgement...one-sided judges. Let me be patient for the husband's post joor. |
Is this still available? |
My advise is for you to leave those kids with someone you trust in Nigeria then go and find succour. Give yourself two or three years then come back for your kids. Nothing good comes easy my dear...it may look like a lifetime of sacrifice but it will all be a story some day. I know someone that did same way I'm suggesting. Mind you...only few countries like US, Canada and Australia can accept all three of you and you all won't feel the heat for too long. But which of these three wan dash visa by prayer and fasting naaa? |
Thank God for the few faithful wives around |
Zigdore:OK...so I was supposed to get an invite from a Brazilian friend but I think she didn't feel cool that I was visiting with my wife considering that she is single...so she kept postponing invite letter until I dumped that option so I make a direct reservation in a hotel in Rio and used that reservation instead. When we were called to go inside for our VO interview, the VO on sighting us said "Am I safe"? Lol. Because my wife came in her uniform...I then answered that he was safe. Then we sat. He asked for my file first, went through, returned documents that were not necessary. (Not a word uttered). He then asked for wife's folder, went through the documents. Returned unnecessary docs. He then asked for my wife's account statement then I said we will be using mine. ( I had attached my bank statement in her file too and a cover letter). He wondered if the balance will be sufficient considering "Brazil is an expensive country" but I said we had done our analysis properly. Then he said we would get a mail to come pick up our passports and we can use substituted means to pick up. We didn't spend up to 12 mins with the VO. |
OK house...so I travelled to Lagos last month and submitted an application for Brazil tourist visa at the Consulate. My wife is pregnant but we did it nicely that it didn't show a bit. We had a nice chat with the VO and he said we would get a mail informing us to come pick our passports soonest. He said if we weren't available, we could detail someone to pick up for us provided we inform the consulate prior...and all. Howbeit, I had to travel last weekend and I informed a friend in Lekki that he would do the pick up for us when the time comes. Now I have received a mail form the Consulate inviting us for an interview. I don't know if this is an invitation to pick up our passports or another round of VO interview. Mind you every single document submitted was authentic and original so I'm not worried of any such incident. I just want to confirm if this email title is meant to be invitation for collection of passport or not |
A black man and an Asian were scheduled by the Institute of Earth Science to visit the mineral section of the Institute of Mining in St Petersburg for a research compendium. When they both arrived at the venue, the black man was subjected to rigorous scrutiny while the Asian was allowed sweet entry, the passport of the black man was scanned and when he was allowed entry, a Russian worker was asked to keep an eye on him from a distance. Throughout the 4 hrs tour and stay of the facility, the black man was followed and watched intensely...is it those kind of people that will offer another black man even a security or cleaning job Mind you, that black man was ME. |
chaiks:Bros, you want to travel to Estonia, Finland and Norway...do you have visa to those countries? Or do you think Russia visa is Schengen visa? Please before you start building castles in the air over teaching job, ask your informants for references of Africans who are teaching English anywhere in Russia or who have a job, and how much RR they are being paid... I'm not above learning too. |
I was also a victim of this bias by the US embassy. Haven been to Russia for a marine expedition, I returned to Nigeria and applied for US visa to attend a workshop on machine learning in Santa Fe, for which I got a grant and accommodation. But the VO rejected my application when she confirmed from me that I was in Russia a few months back for that scientific work. Its so disgusting. I called my Russia guys to tell them what happened and they said they are even used to such treatment now. |
And the "Teams in Red" have it! |
oshobugie22:Since you say you see a lot of blacks I can safely assume that you are in Moscow. Even in St Petersburg there are almost no blacks on the streets...very few. My brother calm down Russia is OK but stay long enough before you say there is no racism abeg. emmy4Gold:YES |

emmy4Gold:Take in a Federal hospital to be safe. If you're in Abuja I recommend Federal Staff Clinic in secretariat. |
The truth is nobody can give you a tale of the situation you will find yourself in a foreign country because what applied to me may not apply to you (even on the same line at the POE). If you want to go to Russia for studies its OK provided that you have the funds A - Z. I remember when I was doing my masters in Uniben, I was hustling along side my studies and I still could finish completely under 1 year 6 months. That is not possible in Russia. If you don't have a scholarship make sure to have a supply of funds from Nigeria for your entire up keep. I am not God and I cannot know your future but from all I know...there are no jobs for foreigners before, during and after studentship. I met a Benin girl who came for studies but ended up doing runs. She doesnt step foot out of her door until night when a cab comes to pick her from her door and straight to the club...same way back home early in the morning. She does all her shopping on sunday evening when the city is relaxed. Many African are into terrible things and are hiding seriously. However, make your trip and God be with you |
South Africa. I hate h8 them more than DSTv |
OP, to your questions... There are no jobs for white foreigners let alone black Nigerian. However, you may get to share fliers on the street or work in an African cafe but only in Moscow and with low pay. (The job go tire you when winter hit you for road) Education is well accepted and VALID students are respected. They will not abuse you with megaphone but even an Uzbekistan laborer will hesitate to enter the same lift with you. (Mind you, Russians look down on Uzbekistani). Remain blessed and welcome. Don't let anything stop you from achieving your dreams. |
I met a Brazilian lady in Russia who told me that Brazil is very unsafe, poor economic conditions bla bla bla. Me I was very positive about my country towards her. I'm just so worried that insecurity has been highlighted about that county in and out. I am planning on having Brazilian kids because of the obvious benefits but this chorusing of insecurity about a country really worries me |
1.5m for comedy show. It must be Ferrari laugh ; You are the real comedian |
There's so much advantage in marrying a female serving military personnel especially if you're a successful civilian guy. Ask me how... |
OK...this should be my first comment on nairaland though. While following this discussion, I decided to comment. I have been to Russia...in fact came back in 2018. I went for studies on Russia government scholarship. My experience from the POE was very very bad even though I was on scholarship and even my flight was paid for by Russia govt. and I was a lecturer in Nigeria too. I have bitter and sweet memories of that place and when my studies ended I couldn't wait to return back to Nigeria. Some of the things said about Russia being a useless place are very true |
