italo: To think that I thought you were a reasonable person. The religion section is actually for people to share their belief in God and other higher powers. That's what it says, isn't it. So it is structured in such a way that if you are not interested in discussion about faith, you can easily avoid by NOT clicking in. But no! Let me quote the verse here so that people can see.

Matthew 19:11-12

11 Jesus replied, “Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given. 12 For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others—and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”

He was talking about eunuchs. eunuchs are men that cannot get it up either naturally or through castration. that is why they are allowed to mingle freely with women as the men had nothing to fear. it has nothing to do with men who can send women to ikot-ekpene with their thing but whose spermatozoides are too lazy to swim.

I don't know what you had open when you read this bible of yours but it certainly wasn't your mind.
In genesis chapter 1, we were told of how god chronologically created things in six days. He created vegetation on the third day. The last thing he created was man on the sixth day.
In genesis chapter 2, we were told that adam was created before vegetation but after the streams. Remember that vegetation was created on the third day.

You see:
Adam created on the third day, after the streams and earthly waters were created but before vegetation was created.
Man created on the 6th day after everything else, including Adam, was created.

Two different beings.

If women were created as per Genesis 1:26-28, why did god have to create eve specially? Also remember that Adam named eve "woman" after she has been created so Genesis 1:26-28 could not have been speaking of women.

For clarity purposes. Woman means "taken out of man" Gen 2:23. The females created in Genesis 1:26-28 were not taken out of men so could not have been women.

Uyi Iredia: I bother myself with the Bible. Everyday, I, at the very least, meditate on a verse. I have read the Bible cover-to-cover & re-read and closely analyzed sections I didn't understand. Remember the Bible is an anthology (i.e a collection of books by different writers) so it takes time to digest it.

Uyi Iredia: It's obvious you've not read the Bible from cover to cover. Read the geneologies in the books of Matthew, Mark Luke & John and note how Jesus' unique case is recorded. Another classic case of taking the Bible out of context.

try and listen to your own advice.

Manoah's wife, future mother of Samson, was barren. Judges 13:2
Michal the daughter of Saul, wife of David, was barren. 2 Samuel 6:23
Hannah, Samuel's future mother, was barren. 1 Samuel 1:5-6
Great Shunammite woman who helped Elisha, was barren. 2 Kings 4:8-17
Elizabeth, Jesus' auntie and john's future mother, was barren. Luke 1:7

The bible even mock them.

Elizabeth lived in a time when discrimination against women and human trafficking/slave trade were supported wit d Bible. years later, people who read their Bibles properly started fighting against it.

I'm sure she knew the bible more than you do. I'm also sure that the bible opens much more than minds in women. Even I, sometimes find myself mouth open when going through some passages of your holy book.

the last few verses are the moon. this is used for seasons like new moon festival and the passover and the months etc

chapter 16 is reiterating that two great lights have been made. one to rule the day ( sun ) ( which is the greater light ) and one to rule the night ( moon ) ( which is the lesser light ). and the stars. simple as that.

i'm afraid i have to disagree with you on this. In verse 4 he seperated light from darkness thus day and night after calling the light day. Three days later, he started another separation of day and night. Was he doing the same thing twice? Why separate day and night on day 4 after having sepated them on the first day?

Another bothering thing is that the all knowing god refered to the moon as a light and refered to distant suns as stars but never mentioned the other planets.

buzugee: the second part ( gen 14-19) will be the moon ( this seperates the day and night in the firmaments of the heaven ), the stars and lightening. hope that meets your satisfaction

If he created the sun on the first day (verse 5), what then is this light he created on the fourth day (verse 16)?
