jamp:Thank you very much for this. It seems they do not understand what an image is. They castigate Catholics for having images yet, they have images of their General Overseers and pastors in their homes, offices, cars etc. Some of them have these images worn as apron, cloths & as wristbands believing that wearing them will secure their lives & bring blessings to them. I see videos of their testimonies on YouTube about this, so it's not something I cook up but fact. Jesus saw this division in the faith and He prayed for the church when He said in Jn 17:21 "I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one--as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me." |
Splinz:One thing about most of you Protestants is that you result to insult when you don't have a superior augment. |
kabasa77:What is it there that you don't understand? Saints are not dead people either they lived 1000yrs ago on earth or presently living on earth. Saint is not the opposite of sinner but meaning someone set apart. Saints are not made in heaven but on earth through heavenly grace. Either you call for the intercession of saint who is still on earth or one who has fallen asleep, one thing is common to them, they are alive in Christ. Saints are not dead people. Only the unsaved are dead when they die here on earth |
doyinbaby:Catholics do not pray to dead people but ask for the intercession of saints. There is nothing wrong to ask for the intercession of the saints. Abraham interceded for Sodom (Gen 18: 16-33). We see in the Old Testament, various figures are asked to intercede for those in spiritual and temporal need: Abraham, Moses, Job, Jeremiah. It seems to have been thought especially appropriate to those men of prayer, the prophets (Gen 18:24, Jb 42:8, Jr 42:2, 2Mc 12:38-45). After the last super, Jesus interceded for his followers (Jn 17). It should be noted that the church does not regard a saint who is dead to the flesh (physical death) as been dead rather, he is asleep but lives in the presence of God. When a righteous died, he rises and becomes like the angels in heaven. Jesus tells us in Mk 12: 24-26 that God is God not of the dead but of the living. In Ex 3:1-6 When God appeared in the burning bush to Moses, he introduced Himself as God of Abraham, God of Issac and God of Jacob. These people were known to be dead (physical death) when he appeared to Moses, yet God still associates Himself with them meaning that, these saints are living. Therefore, when Catholics call on saints for intercession is because these saints are living and in the presence of God. Just like we meet our priests or pastors for their intercession because of our believe that they are saints who live holy lives (only God knows the heart of man), same way Catholics ask for the intercession of saints who live in the presence of God (for these ones you are very sure they are clean and free from sin because they are in heaven already. Nothing unclean will enter heaven Rev 21:27) |
Q1. Why do Catholics bow to images in the church? A: Catholics do not bow to images in order to worship them. In fact, it is condemned by God. Ex 20: 1-5 "Then God spoke all these words: I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt,b out of the house of slavery. You shall not have other gods beside me. You shall not make for yourself an idolc or a likeness of anything* in the heavens above or on the earth below or in the waters beneath the earth; you shall not bow down before them or serve them.d For I, the LORD, your God, am a jealous God, inflicting punishment for their ancestors’ wickedness on the children of those who hate me, down to the third and fourth generation." But in Numbers 21: 4-9, God asked Moses to make a bronze image of a snake to save the people of Isreal. "They traveled from Mount Hor along the route to the Red Sea,[a] to go around Edom. But the people grew impatient on the way; 5 they spoke against God and against Moses, and said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!” 6 Then the Lord sent venomous snakes among them; they bit the people and many Israelites died. 7 The people came to Moses and said, “We sinned when we spoke against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. 8 The Lord said to Moses, “Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.” 9 So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, they lived." Now, would you say that God who instructed us not to make images in Genesis is the one instructing Moses in Numbers to make an image of a serpent? Can God contradict Himself? Absolutely not! God did not say images should not be made, but He is against worshiping such images. Therefore, it is imperative to note that God is not against the making of image but against the act of worshiping them. We all have images (pictures or sculptures) in our homes and offices hung on our walls or placed in the house but do we worship them? I doubt! We put them there for beautification, honour and remembrance. Example is the statue of Herbert Macaulay on the Island in Lagos. That statue is not made there for worship but for remembrance and honour and also, it beautifies the area. Therefore, making of an image is not a sin in itself but worshiping them and acknowledging them the status of God is a sin for God is a jealous God. Q2: Why does the Catholic Bible have 73 books, while the Protestant Bible has only 66 books? The Catholic is the church that compiled the bible in about 367 AD when St. Athanasius came up with a list of 73 books for the Bible that he believed to be divinely inspired. This list was finally approved by Pope Damasus I in 382 AD, and was formally approved by the Church Council of Rome in that same year. Later Councils at Hippo (393 AD) and Carthage (397 AD) ratified this list of 73 books. In 405 AD, Pope Innocent I wrote a letter to the Bishop of Toulouse reaffirming this canon of 73 books. In 419 AD, the Council of Carthage reaffirmed this list, which Pope Boniface agreed to. In 16th century, Martin Luther discarded with some books in the bible which he believed does not conform with his own view of theology. Initially, he disagreed with 7 books in the Old Testament which are Tobit, Judith, Baruch, Wisdom, Sirach, First Maccabees, and Second Maccabees, as well as additional verses of Daniel and Esther. These books are called the “deuterocanon”, or second canon, by Catholics, and the “apocrypha”, or hidden/obscure, by Protestants (Christians who protest against the Catholic Church) and also, some books in the New Testament which include James, Hebrews, Jude, and Revelation. He actually said that he wanted to “throw Jimmy into the fire”, and that the book of James was “an epistle of straw.” What is strange is that Luther eventually accepted all 27 books of the New Testament that the Catholic Pope Damasus I had approved of in 382 AD, but didn’t accept his Old Testament list. Hence, the 66 books in the Protestant's bible and the foremost of them is King James version which was first compiled by Martin Luther with the help of King Henry VIII in year 1081. Martin Luther was excommunicated by the church for his rebellious act against the body of Christ and for re-inventing his own bible. This topic is well explained in this thread https://www.nairaland.com/3782829/why-catholic-church-bible-different Q3: Why do Priests wear different colours of vestments for different occasions A: The priest wears 5 different colours of vestment during the celebration of Holy Mass depending on the occasion or feast. These vestments are: Red Vestment: This is worn to celebrate a saint who was killed or martyred. White Vestment: This signifies purity. It is worn to celebrate Holy Mass during the feat of a saint who died natural death, for virgin Mary's day and also, to signify the holiness of Jesus Christ. Purple Vestment: Purple signifies royalty and therefore, it is worn during advent (starting 4 weeks to Christmas) in preparation to coming of the King of kings- Jesus Christ. Gold Vestment: This is worn during the celebration of the church e.g. Golden jubilee, anniversaries etc Green Vestment: This is worn during ordinary time. Green signifies life. Q4: Why do Catholics honour Mary? A: Catholics honour Mary because of the position she occupies in the life of Christ, Christians and importantly, the special grace and favour bestowed upon her by God himself. Jn 19: 25-27 tells us how Jesus on the cross handed over Mary to the disciple He loved to be his mother. The disciple at that moment represented Christians whom Christ loves and handed over his mother to be our mother also. It is logical that the mother of your mentor is your mother also and so, you accord her same respect and honour your mentor will accord her as well. Gen 3:16, Rev 12: 1-7 and Is 7:10 show how God acknowledges the importance of Mary to mankind and thus bestow upon her the highest favour given to any man before or after her. Lk 1: 26-38; 40-42 tells us how angel Gabriel conveyed the mind of God to Mary revealing to her how much favour God has bestowed upon her thus saying to her "hail Mary, full of grace..." and also the greetings of her cousin Elizabeth, "Of all women, you are the most blessed." This greeting was not from Elizabeth herself but inspired by the Spirit of God which through the confirmation she got when the baby in her womb leapt for joy on sighting Mary. These greetings gladdens Mary heart (Lk 2:19). It should be noted that act of honour should not be mistaken for worship. Catholics do not worship Mary because she is NOT God and will never be. The church honours her in a similar way we honour our biological mothers (though in a special way because of the special grace she carries). In Ex 20:12, God asks us to honour our father and mother. Q5: Does Mary have other Children? Mary had no other children apart from Jesus. If Mary had other children, Jesus would not have asked the disciple to take Mary home and care for her if not, other children of hers would have been able to do that. Would it not be a slap on the faces of other children that an outsider would take their mother home to take care when they are still alive? Also, Lk 2:41-49 tells us how Jesus was forgotten in the temple by his parents and later found him in the temple preaching after searching for him for 3 days. "Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover. 42 When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom. 43 After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. 44 Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. 45 When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. 46 After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47 Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. 48 When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.” Jesus was 12 years old during this time, and if he had other siblings, would Joseph and Mary left them behind to go to Jerusalem only with Jesus since it is the custom to go with all members of the family? In Matt 12:46, it is written that Jesus's mother and brothers were waiting outside anxious to have a word with him. Does that mean Jesus had other siblings? The first recorded argument was between St. Jerome and another fourth-century theologian, Helvidius, who had written that after the virgin birth of Jesus, Mary had other children with her husband, Joseph. St. Jerome disagreed, indicating that by the fourth century at least some of the church community believed that Mary had stayed a virgin for the rest of her life. These children of Mary, Jerome said, were from Mary of Clopas, Jesus’ aunt and his mother’s sister, making them cousins. He claimed that the Greek word "adelphios" could refer to cousins, not just biological siblings. Same way in Yoruba language, "cousin" has no word instead "aburo" or "egbon" can be used for a biological sibling or relative. Also, if Jesus had sibling, they would have been present during his crucifixion with Mary. In John 19:25, where she is among the women present at the Crucifixion of Jesus: "Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, Mary and His mother's sister, Mary [the wife] of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene." Note that Jesus' mother's sister is also called Mary in this passage but can two biological sisters called the same name within a nuclear family? That proves that Mary the wife of Clopas is not the biological sister of Mary mother of Jesus but a relative because in Greek from where English bible is translated from has no word for cousin or aunt or uncle but once they are related are called brothers or sisters. Q6: Why do Catholics don't pray for the death of their enemy or curse them but rather, pray for their conversion? A: In Matt 5: 43-45, Jesus instructs us to love our enemies and pray for those who hate us. 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[a] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. Act 7:55-60, 1Pt 3:8 and 1Cor 3:17 state this fact as well for there is rejoice among the angels of God when a sinner repents (Lk: 15:10) Q7: Is drinking a sin? A: Drinking is not a sin, rather getting drunk is a sin (Ep 5:18). Jesus turned water to wine (Jn 2: 1-12). 1Tim 3:8 "In the same way, deacons[b] are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain." This shows that drinking of wine is not sin in itself but getting drunk by drinking much of it is sin. Jesus took wine when he was offered vinegar while on the cross (Matt 27: 48). If drinking was a sin, He wouldn't have accepted it. Vinegar wine contains 5-20% acetic acid; 5-8% alcohol. Wine is taken in heaven as well (Matt 26: 26-29).

The Bible - 73 or 66 Books? So why does the Catholic Bible have 73 books, while the Protestant Bible has only 66 books? Some protestants believe that the Catholic Church added 7 books to the Bible at the Council of Trent in response to Luther’s Reformation, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. In about 367 AD, St. The Council of Trent, in 1546, in response to the Reformation removing 7 books from the canon (canon is a Greek word meaning “standard”), reaffirmed the original St. Athanasius list of 73 books. So what happened? How come the King James Bible only has 66 books? Well, Martin Luther didn’t like 7 books of the Old Testament that disagreed with his personal view of theology, so he threw them out of his bible in the 16th Century. His reasoning was that the Jewish Council of Jamnia in 90 AD didn’t think they were canonical, so he didn’t either. The Jewish Council of Jamnia was a meeting of the remaining Jews from Palestine who survived the Roman persecution of Jerusalem in 70 AD. It seems that the Jews had never settled on an official canon of OT scripture before this. The Sadducees only believed in the first 5 books of the Bible written by Moses (the Pentateuch), while the Pharisees believed in 34 other books of the Old Testament as well. However, there were other Jews around from the Diaspora, or the dispersion of the Jews from the Babylonian captivity, who believed that another 7 books were also divinely inspired. In fact, when Jesus addressed the Diaspora Jews (who spoke Greek) he quoted from the Septuagint version of the scriptures. The Septuagint was a Greek translation by 70 translators of the Hebrew Word. The Septuagint includes the disputed 7 books that Protestants do not recognize as scriptural. Initially, Luther wanted to kick out some New Testament Books as well, including James, Hebrews, Jude, and Revelation. He actually said that he wanted to “throw Jimmy into the fire”, and that the book of James was “an epistle of straw.” What is strange is that Luther eventually accepted all 27 books of the New Testament that the Catholic Pope Damasus I had approved of in 382 AD, but didn’t accept his Old Testament list, preferring instead to agree with the Jews of 90 AD. Luther really didn’t care much for Jews, and wrote an encyclical advocating the burning of their synagogues, which seems like a dichotomy. Why trust them to come up with an accurate canon of scripture when you hate and distrust them so much? And why trust the Catholic Church which he called “the LovePeddler of Babylon” to come up with an accurate New Testament list? Can you imagine the outrage by non-Catholics today if the Pope started throwing books out of the Bible? But strangely, Luther gets a pass on doing that exact same thing. For the record, Jesus took the Kingdom away from the Jews (Matthew 21:43), and gave it to Peter and His new Church (Matthew 16:18) , so the Jewish Council of Jamnia had no Godly authority to decide anything in 90 AD. They used 4 criteria for deciding whether or not certain books were canonical – 1. The books had to conform to the Pentateuch (the first 5 books of the Bible- ...... Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy); 2. They could not have been written after the time of Ezra (around 400 BC); 3. They had to be written in Hebrew; 4. They had to be written in Palestine. So this method employed by first century Jews would automatically exclude all of the Gospels, and the Epistles of the New Testament, which were also written in the first century. But there were other books written before Christ, after Ezra, and some in Greek as well. These 7 books were accepted by the Diaspora Jews (the Alexandrian Canon) who were not in Palestine. These 7 books are Tobit, Judith, Baruch, Wisdom, Sirach, First Maccabees, and Second Maccabees, as well as additional verses of Daniel and Esther. These books are called the “deuterocanon”, or second canon, by Catholics, and the “apocrypha”, or hidden/obscure, by Protestants (Christians who protest against the Catholic Church). There are several objections to these 7 books, besides not being approved at the Jewish Council Jamnia. Some say that since the New Testament never references these disputed books, then that proves that they are not canonical. But that isn’t right, because the non-disputed books of Ecclesiastes and Ezra aren’t mentioned in the New Testament at all, not even once. By this standard then, Ecclesiastes and Ezra aren’t canonical either. On the other hand, there are many references indeed from the deuterocanonicals in the New Testament. Anybody who reads the book of Wisdom 2: 12-20 would immediately recognize that this is a direct reference to the Jews who were plotting against Jesus in Matthew 27:41-43: Wisdom 2:12-20: "Let us lie in wait for the righteous man, because he is inconvenient to us and opposes our actions; he reproaches us for sins against the law, and accuses us of sins against our training. He professes to have knowledge of God, and calls himself a child of the Lord. He became to us a reproof of our thoughts; the very sight of him is a burden to us, because his manner of life is unlike that of others, and his ways are strange. We are considered by him as something base, and he avoids our ways as unclean; he calls the last end of the righteous happy, and boasts that God is his father. Let us see if his words are true, and let us test what will happen at the end of his life; for if the righteous man is God's son, he will help him, and will deliver him from the hand of his adversaries. Let us test him with insult and torture, that we may find out how gentle he is, and make trial of his forbearance. Let us condemn him to a shameful death, for, according to what he says, he will be protected." Matthew 27: 41-43: So also the chief priests, with the scribes and elders, mocked him, saying, "He saved others; he cannot save himself. He is the King of Israel; let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him. He trusts in God; let God deliver him now, if he desires him; for he said, `I am the Son of God.’ Another similar instance of this is Hebrews 11:35 being a direct reference to 2 Maccabees 7, where the mother and her 7 sons were slaughtered by the evil King for not forsaking the Jewish law. Romans 1:19-25 is also referenced in Wisdom 12-13. The clincher, of course, is that Jesus Himself observed the feast of Hannukah, or the Dedication of the Temple, in John 10. This can be found in the Old Testament book of First Maccabees, Chapter 4, which is in the Catholic Bible, but not in the Protestant Bible. Additionally, there are some unscriptural books referenced in the New Testament, like Enoch and the Assumption of Moses (in the book of Jude), so if the standard is that books referenced in the New Testament are canonical, then Enoch and the Assumption of Moses would be in the Old Testament, but they are not. Some people object to these 7 books because they claim some of the early church fathers like St. Jerome didn’t think they were divinely inspired. While it’s great that all of a sudden so many non-Catholics start quoting the early Church Fathers, it’s not right to quote them on this and then not on the Eucharist, the papacy, or the supremacy of Rome, all which prove that the Catholic Church was the only Church around in those days. St. Jerome initially had some concerns about these books, saying that the Palestinian Jews didn’t consider them canonical, but St. Jerome was not infallible, and later agreed that they were. All of the early Church Fathers accepted these disputed books as divinely inspired. Still others object to some of the disputed 7 books because of historical or geographical errors in them. And there are some, but it has to be remembered that not all stories in the Bible are historical. For instance, was there really a rich man who died and went to hell, and then saw his poor servant in the bosom of Abraham? Was there really a young man who sold his inheritance and went off to a faraway country and squandered it, and returned home as the prodigal son? Was there really a vineyard where the workers who showed up late got paid the same as the workers who worked all day? Or is it rather not more important that these parables teach important theological lessons than it is for them to be 100% historically accurate? In other words, books of fiction that relate Biblical truths can be divinely inspired. It’s important also to note that the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls included the book of Tobit and the book of Sirach, proving that the people back then thought them canonical, because they were found with the book of Isaiah and other Old Testament books. And you can check all of this out for yourself. The first bible ever printed was the Gutenberg Bible, in the century BEFORE Luther started his Reformation. And the 7 books are indeed in that Bible. And an interesting numerology coincidence occurs here as well. In the bible, the number 7 denotes perfection (God rested on the 7th day, 7 spirits that minister to God, 7 sacraments), and the number 3 represents the Holy Trinity. On the other hand, the number 6 represents imperfection (as in 666). Therefore, 73 books sure sounds a lot better than 66 books! To check out a great list of all of the New Testament references to the deuterocanonicals by Catholic genius and all around good guy Jimmy Akin, click here. Some of the more interesting items in these 7 books are as follows: In 2 Maccabees 12:39-45, we learn how Judas Maccabees prayed for the dead and made atonement FOR THEM by sending money to the temple as a sin offering (purgatory). In 2 Maccabees 6:12-14, we learn how God punishes nations. In 2 Maccabees 2:4-7, we learn the final resting place of the Ark of the Covenant and when it will be found (Sorry Indiana Jones!). In 2 Maccabees 15:12-17, we learn about how saints in heaven pray for us and help us out here on earth. In Wisdom 7, we see a biblical type of the Blessed Virgin Mary known as "wisdom." In Sirach 38:1-15, we learn about the role of the physician and how God uses him/her to cure us. In Tobit, we learn about the Archangel Raphael (a name which means God Heals), the only place in the entire bible where he is mentioned. We also learn about the anti-marriage demon Asmodeus. In Judith, we see a biblical type of Mary crushing the head of the serpent; Judith cuts off the head of the evil General Holofernes, and saves Israel. http://www.catholicbible101.com/thebible73or66books.htm |
TooNoisy:Gbam! U'v said it all. Igbos have shown severally that they are only chest beaters, and self acclaimed brave men but in reality, they are the cowards but they will not accept it. The examples of their cowardice u stated are true and another example was during the xenophobic attack on Nigerians in South Africa, where some Nigerians formed a group arming themselves with clubs & machetes to defend themselves. Do know that these Nigerians defending themselves are Yorubas? The video is on YouTube- the guys in the video were speaking Yoruba telling the Southies that if they come near their community, they will behead them. That's bravery (even though I do not support violence but u must always stand for yourself)! & I wondered throughout the video where the self acclaimed 'brave' men, my Igbo brothers were while their Yoruba counterparts were out there on the street defending their community despite all the accusations of drug peddling against Nigerians are all pointing at the Igbos in South Africa |

Look at how malnourished those cattle look! These big men who own those cattle can decide to own a ranch & employ these herdsmen to look after them in the ranch. The cattle will be well fed, big & healthier & be sold higher in price. The herdsmen too will be healthier instead of looking so thin & unkempt due to long distance trekking from north to south. If we must develop in this nation, the big men who own this cattle who are also the learned, religious & political leaders in the north must be ready to educate & change the mindset of their people. The north is TOO backward! |
LUCKNOW, INDIA) - Indian police are reviewing reports of missing children to try to identify a girl who was found living in a forest with a group of monkeys. The girl, believed to be 10 to 12 years old, was unable to speak, was wearing no clothes and was emaciated when she discovered in January and taken to a hospital in Bahraich, a town in Uttar Pradesh state in northern India. She behaved like an animal, running on her arms and legs and eating food off the floor with her mouth, said D.K. Singh, chief medical superintendent of the government-run hospital. After treatment, she has begun walking normally and eating with her hands. “She is still not able to speak, but understands whatever you tell her and even smiles,” Singh said. Some woodcutters spotted the girl roaming with monkeys, police officer Dinesh Tripathi told The Associated Press on Thursday. They alerted police. “They said the girl was naked and was very comfortable in the company of monkeys. When they tried to rescue the girl, they were chased away by the monkeys,” the officer said. She was rescued later by a police officer in the Katarniya Ghat forest range. “When he called the girl, the monkeys attacked him but he was able to rescue the girl. He sped away with her in his police car while the monkeys gave chase,” Tripathi said. He said police are trying to determine how the girl got into the forest and who her parents are. She will be sent to a home for juveniles until she is identified, Singh said. Tithe is to be paid ONLY to a Levite priest who is not allowed to work or own inheritance. That means, the Levite has nothing to feed on except the tithe other tribes of Isreal paid, that's what the old testament says from Deuteronomy to Leviticus to Malachi. In the new testament, Jesus says in Matt 23 that mercy and justice matter most. In the whole of new testament which is the beginning of Christianity (Note, old testament is Judaism), Jesus or any of his apostle never paid tithe nor collected tithe. No where in the bible this was recorded. Also, early Christians NEVER paid or collected tithe. No where in the letters written by these early Christians did we read that tithe was paid or collected. In church history, the only thing we read was 100% sharing of the things they all had so that all of them were seen as being equal. They lived as a community. Therefore, if Jesus who we follow as master & His apostles never paid or collected tithe, why should we do otherwise? Secondly, if early Christians e.g Peter, Paul, John, Steven etc are in heaven today & never paid tithe during their Christian lives on earth, that means You and I do not need to pay tithe to enter heaven. The only thing that can disqualify you from heaven (if everything being equal) is not providing for those in need. Remember what Jesus said to those who will say on the last day, "I prophesy in your name and perform miracle in your name" but Jesus will say "depart from me for I do not know you because when I was sick you didn't visit me, when I was hungry you didn't feed me..." Matt 25:41-46. Therefore Op, mercy is more important, help the needy. |

suzan404:What's the use of the condom? My concern is that the girl should make sure she register for PMTCT whenever she wants to give birth so that the innocent child will be free from contacting the HIV his mother & father are busy sharing |

Justiceleague1:That is where the problem is. We believe so much in what pastors say and that might be what is affecting the young lady I'm talking about. Her pastor suddenly changed her lifestyle and make her see her mother as her enemy thereby destroying a happy home |
Justiceleague1:So, u believe it's a spiritual problem? |
I don't know the appropriate section to post this question health, family or religion, may be the mod can help out. I'm really interested in knowing people's opinion about this issue because right now as I am posting this, a family is being turn apart. A lady I know very well is accusing her mum of serving her food in her dreams & that's why she's not progressing in life and that her mum wants to kill her. This is the same woman that have been cooking for her & all other members of the family. Why would it be now that she will kill her own daughter and not when she was a baby? I thought. Other members of the family are fine in their respective endeavours. This lady I understand takes spirituality to the extreme and her mother is well known to be very religious but not an extremist. I learnt the accusation has been going on for years now. It started when the lady joined a church up north where she went for her service and ever since then, she stopped putting on jewelries, trousers, and make ups. She started dissociating from all those that wear these things saying boldly to their faces that they will go to hell. Trouble started when she accused her mum of giving her food in the dream and her pastor said her mum is behind her failure in life. Since then, she has refused to visit or have anything to do with her mother and entire family so, I was called in recently to help intervene in the case. Is it not scientific that when one sleeps hungry or think of food the possibility of dreaming of food is high? Just like one who occupies his mind with porn and sex will dream of having sex and may eventually have wet dreams. From the little research I have done, I found out that this family is not the only one facing such social problem and it has destroyed many families. Though, I believe in the existence of God but I'm liberal, so I'm left in the middle if this case is spiritual or just one that has scientific or medical explanation. So, is eating food in the dream spiritual or a commonsense of the brain playing out pictures of what the mind is occupied with? |
