Yes, I'm baby. Are u satisfied now? Does that soften your heart? I guess not. U claimed to read English, yet u can't read the bible to understand simple English but u brought up a link where u'v being brainwashed to believe what they want u to believe. Sorry, the scriptures & the teachings of the apostles suffice for me with the help of the Holy Spirit. Bye bye...May the Lord help u to soften your heart to believe the truth

Brother,
Our discussion has come to an end.
Let's pray for the Holy Spirit to help us (or rather anyone who may be having difficulty) interpret all of the scriptures properly that were mentioned during our discussion....especially John 20:23.
It's very important to read "line upon line" "precept upon precept"...not just one scripture verse smiley
You are expressing yourself this way because you've been boxed to the corner with the truth smeared to your face. Even if u read the whole John 20 from the start to the end, it doesn't change the truth that Jesus breathed on them (apostles) & gave them the authority to forgive or retain sin. Don't hardened your heart to the truth dear. Bye....

Thank you guys for your discussions, suggestions, explanations and advice etc.
Lol....my main and fluent language is English so I understand.
Unfortunately, I don't know any Igbo (my dad's tribe...which would be the "local" language) if I lived in Nigeria.
Actually, my first degree was in English.
So hopefully we were all reading English in our Bibles at least for these discussions we had....
And yes I know the truth...and may the Holy Spirit guide us into ALL truth smiley

Funny you! It's either u know it's the truth & u'v decided to close your eyes to it or u don't understand the English. If the former is correct, sorry, your case is worse than the man who has not being preached to, & if the later is the case, u need to read that passage again in a bible written in your local language. May the Holy Spirit help u

Hold on brother,
We can choose to "agree to disagree" without resorting to accusations.
I don't know who Jesus is to you, but to ME, He's my Lord and Savior. He's the King. He's my friend that sticketh "closer than a brother". He"s my Comforter, Healer & Provider....amongst so many other things.
But what He is NOT....is a liar which I did not call Him that nor would I ever, ever...
He is not man that He should lie.
Now you may call me anything you'd like (for that I cannot control..)....but please don't wrongly use the interpretation of scripture to allege what you "think" I may have said...
That wasn't fair of you to say..
Peace my brother
Thank God you know Jesus can't lie. So, do u accept Jn 20:20-23 that Peter & the apostles were given the authority to forgive (or withhold) sin?

I will create a topic on my experience with him some day.
You be better person. I know of a lady who was told by her pastor that her mum is a witch & she abandoned her & the entire family. This is the same woman who took care of her through school till she became a lawyer o, treated her like any other children of hers & suddenly, she met this pastor during her service year & the relationship between mother & daughter became sour. Ah! May God punish all these fake pastors who go about destroying happy homes. Their punishment shall be double. Amen

There is no correlation between getting married and weight gaining unless piling up fat. That can occur as you age but in some individuals it hardly seen.

For you to gain weight, you have to increase your muscle mass with bodybuilding along with right dieting.

You are not underweight based on your BMI findings.

Pls, tell me how I can increase in weight and also if possible in height also.
Thanks
Your BMI is 19.5 (using ht = 168cm) & that's ok. There is nothing u can do about your height again at this age of yours but u can increase your weight. Try eating 3-4 times a day, eat nuts to increase your appetite for food, eat banana or take smoothies every morning when you wake up & do some exercise every morning like stretching. If you can keep to this for like 3months you will see the difference

MZLady39:
Ok...
Peter was both an Apostle & Evangelist (Acts 2:14-40). So Peter had responsibilities pertaining to the administration of the church/people...but not regarding forgiveness of sins.
The particular verse speaking about the "rock" that the church would be built upon refers to Jesus Christ....not Peter (Matthew 16:18).
Matt 16:17-18 is very clear on this "17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church , and the gates of Hades c will not overcome it."
The bolded in that context shows that Jesus was not referring to Himself as rock but Peter. It should be noted that the English meaning of Peter is 'rock', so Jesus told him that he would build His church on him. Also, it should be noted that Peter did not own the church, the church belongs to Jesus but only built on Peter to lead. That is why Peter is the head of the Apostles and the church of Christ.
If Christ had to identify the spirit behind Peter's rebuke of Jesus' mission, (Matthew 16: 22, 23), then that signifies that Peter was fallible and thereby has to obtain forgiveness from Christ just as every other human being
(1 John 1:9).
So "no" Peter would have no authority to forgive or retain Mary Magdalene's sin. She would need to go to her Savior and confess her sins and ask for forgiveness.
You've just called Jesus a liar. Jn 20:22-23 says "22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” This shows Peter and other apostles have been given the power to forgive sins. Also in Matt 16:19 the authority was given by Jesus to Peter "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be d bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Jesus gave Peter the key to the kingdom of heaven as well as the authority to bind or to loose. Therefore, if Jesus Christ our master said this, who are you to say Peter does not have the authority? Pls don't call Jesus a liar!

In a nutshell the lesson is that the nation's policies and goals are so simple that the ordinary Mauritians understands where the nation is headed and how they intend to achieve that goal.

Go to Nigeria and ask even those around the corridor of power what is our nation's economic policy and how we intend to achieve that? You will be surprised that nobody knows let alone a taxi driver or random hotel manager.
Correct! In summary, if the government can incorporate every Nigerian- the taxi driver, hoteliers, restauranteurs, students, road side traders, academics etc & orientate them to see Nigeria as their pet project that way, every Nigerian will become an ambassador of the country & help to attract investors whenever they come across them.

1: is it the buying of raw diamond and refining? because they dont have mineral resources but we have, we have not even refined our crude yet
2: is it the push for tourism, Mauritius is a small and beautiful island infact its a wondaland thats y tourist flock there, that one no fit work for here there is nothing here that is encouraging with regards tourism.. do you know @op that Rwanda rakes in hungreds of millions of dollars from mere gorilla tracking, but in Nigeria nothing....

nothing dey for us to copy there except you are talking about an orientation of citizens on govt. plans and policy ehen that one fit work.
Though ehie has tried to answer your question up there but let me say that the model i'm referring to here is a model of citizen ownership of the country. Just like in Mauritius, every citizen of the country is well groomed on how to convince tourists & foreigners to invest in their country. Every citizen sees Mauritius as his own project that must develop. They all understand that when money is spent in the country by these foreigners, it boost the economy & everyone benefits.
If Nigeria adopts this where all citizens are concerned & play their role to convince foreigners to invest in Nigeria & Nigerian citizens too invest their money here instead of stacking it in foreign countries, Nigeria will be better of

This is an experience shared by Strive Musiyiwa, a globally renowned business mogul, on the model by Mauritius-a country without mineral resources- to become one of the five biggest economy in Africa.
Being business-minded...
__It can become a national culture.

Many years ago, I was on holiday on the tiny island nation of Mauritius. Not long after I arrived, I set out to understand how its economy ticks and its key drivers. I do this all the time, wherever I go.

First of all, I had a good look at its economic data: Very impressive... Wow!

It's in the top five African countries when measured in terms of GDP per capita. Currently, it's measured at about $9100 (per citizen). Not distorted by a major mineral like oil or diamonds, this is a very meaningful measure in their case.

I don't want to get into a major economic or political debate because that's not the purpose of this platform. I know the population at 1.26m might seem very small for a case analysis but I want to share with you one anecdotal story that's relevant regardless.

One day, I asked the hotel to give me a car and driver as I wanted to tour the island on my own. For an entire week, a young Mauritian driver would pitch up at my hotel and take me around. Having realized what I was interested in, he began to make suggestions...

"Today, Mr Masiyiwa, I want to show you our diamond industry," he said excitedly.

"You have a diamond industry?" I asked surprised. "My studies show that you have no minerals in this country?"

"We don't mine; we cut and polish. Here we are like the Japanese. We don't have minerals, so we buy raw diamonds, cut them and polish. You make more money that way," he said.

"Can you take me there?" I asked quietly.

On another occasion, I asked him for a place I could stop to eat and he drove me to a very expensive restaurant. I asked him why he had taken me to the most expensive place!

"Our economy, sir, is tourism. We need you to spend as much money as possible when you're here. If I take you to a cheap restaurant, it's not as good for Mauritius."

Then he added apologetically, "I can take you somewhere cheaper, if you like?"

"No, it's ok, let's help Mauritius."

"After lunch, I will take you to Cybercity, sir."

Back at the hotel, the hotel manager said to me, "Did your driver show you Cybercity? That's our future, sir. We want to go into IT, as a country," he said proudly.

"I have seen Cybercity. It's an amazing vision."

"Will you invest, sir? If you like, I can arrange someone from our Ministry of Industry to come and see you? Should I arrange?"

As soon as that holiday was over, I sent a team to begin the process of setting up a big office in Mauritius. We went to Cybercity. Soon we were joined there by some of the largest companies in the world.

Years later, I shared the story with a friend who was also a businessman, and a huge investor in Mauritius.

"So, they did that to you as well?" he asked. "They are absolutely obsessive about getting investment into their country. That's how they turned a nation that was essentially a sugarcane plantation into one of the wealthiest African nations."

Here the cab driver knew and had been drilled that they must encourage tourists to spend money. The hotel manager was also at work encouraging investment.

And they had pitched to the right guy... Have I mentioned before that I'm an entrepreneurial tourist?

# I look at needs in that community that an entrepreneur could help solve.

# I look at solutions being used there that could work somewhere else...
Imagine if every taxi driver and hotel manager in Africa met visitors with such business-minded vision for their countries...

Let's be smart. A mindset doesn't cost a cent to change!

End.
- Strive Musiyiwa
I believe if Nigeria & every Nigerian adopts this model, Nigeria will become one of the biggest economy in the world with unemployment and poverty reduced significantly to low figures.

Haha! The heretic who said Christians cant pray for others sins to be forgiven has been pushed to a dead end by his own lies.

He'll rather runaway than accept what the Bible says.

1John5:16 If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that.

John20:22 When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”
@kabasa77 This is the scriptures italo quoted from the bible to prove you wrong that Christians can pray for other's sins to be forgiving also by the authority given by Jesus in Jn 20:22. You could not prove him wrong because you know the bible is the truth instead, you came up with this fictitious claim you wrote below v that has nothing to do with the discussion. You are so ignorant of the scriptures. grin
kabasa77:
Don't be silly Mr... You are the ones who are idol worshippers, worshiping the Queen of Heaven, where in your Bible was your Mary crowned the Queen of Heaven, and what of your silly immaculate birth of Mary?

The Bible have said it, we have only one mediator and intercessor, Jesus, you can pray for your brother here on earth, but you don't pray to those already in heaven to help you, when Jesus is there.. Continue in your folly
It still baffles me when non Catholics say Catholics don't read the bible or know what it contains but so far from this discussion on the topic, it so obvious that you protestants are the ones who don't read the bible but believe whatever your pastors tell you. As an advice please, read the bible with an open mind and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you.

Stop looking for every means of justifying your idol worship. Mary is in her grave awaiting the resurrection just like Abraham, David and the rest.
Lk 16:19-31 tells us about the poor Lazarus in the bosom of Abraham in heaven. Also, If you say Abraham & other saints are in their graves, you are simply saying they are not alive which contradicts your earlier statement that saints are alive in Christ.

In Fashola's 1st 2 years, Fashola was building power plants, water works, hospitals, maternity centers, bridges and building state institutions, he was creating valuable agencies and so on while Ambode is still lagging behind with almost nothing in form of visionary projects.

Continuity means doing better than your predecessor, not lagging behind your predecessor especially when his budget is the largest in the history of Nigeria and over N200 billion more than Fashola's largest budget. We should be seeing more than roads, but so far, what we are seeing is what we expect from poor states in form of basic projects lie roads and overhead bridge.

Ambode is trying per poor states standard, but not per Lagos state standard or like his predecessors.
All sectors are important & not be overlooked but no man can do them all. Ambode has set a target for himself ever since his administration came on board on 3 areas which are: infrastructure, security & employment creation. This will also form the basis on which he would be judged after his tenure. So far, I think he has not derailed from that focus & I believe he has a pass mark on these areas. This is just the beginning, more are still expected, he needs all the support from all of us

Intercessions aren't made to saints, even a j.j.c should know that. Intercession is a prayer made to God on another's behalf. Members of christ body make intercession for one another just as Abraham made Intercession for sodom, and moses made for the isrealites even the apostle Paul asks for Intercession. These are rudiments of prayer and I an surprised that I am repeating them to someone who claims to be Christian.

Every member of christ body is a priest and so capable of interceeding for others. We are each capable of bee intercessors and this ability does not disappear when we die. In fact a Christian never dies according to christ. These are also rudimentary teachings you should know already.

All the op does and has been done both in judaism and in the church for over 2000yrs is he asks his fellow Christians to make intercession for him.
With this your explanation, you've done great justice to the topic. Anyone that doesn't understand it now the way you've put it should reexamine his comprehensive skill
