When filling your account opening form, use the names already registered with BVN.

I'd advise later on, you rectify the third names on BVN. But for now, this arrangement will suffice..

How was camp and where's your PPA?

That@boldened is actually where I love to stand with anyone or pastor, etc and slug it out with. But I don't need to now....

Few cities all over the world have the record of having almost all tongues coming to that city cos of trade. Jerusalem was such a city and so, hundreds of traders and believers in Judaism came there to observe and trade, etc. So the timing by the Holy Spirit was exactly perfect. why? cos if those guys weren't there, only God knows what kind of stupid theory haters of the gospel would be raising as regards the speaking of tongues. Now these guys were all present and Pentecost came, and these guys saw, and heard their own mother tongue cos they were present. The description given the disciples were that they were majorly "unlearned men" and this reflected in their mode of dressing(you can know the identity of anyone by the way they dressed those times) So traders that were skilled in at least 3major languages asides their own mother tongue, heard these 120 speaking their language. The description given these 120 was that they were drunk with new wine. and that sparked off the 1st ever salvation preaching by Peter.... who said that was fulfillment of prophecy.

The tongue isn't alien to the planet earth. Cities that have the kind of complexity of languages like Jerusalem had in our present days are New York and the Vatican, Jerusalem also. it's very possible that Africans heard their language that day. Tongues!

If someone understands what the speaker is saying, that's a big blessing to the church. why? cos tongues without interpretation is just for the speaker alone. It was still tongues when these guys heard the 120 speak it that day. so why can't it still be tongues now?

It all boils down to the mistake that tongues is enshrouded in mystery and gibberish, as most ministers continue to keep emphasizing these days.

Bro, I get your point..

But we get to confuse prophesy with speaking in tongues. 1Corinthians 14:2 explains this better..
Prophesy is the interpretation of tongues and that's where we humans beings get to understand what is being said.

so, people in the Bubke were speaking in tongues that were understood by different nationals, but you think tongues should not be understood..........all these new generation Christians grin

Well, I'd advise you understand what speaking in tongues means and how it differs from prophesy..

Have a lovely day.

'tongue' is often used interchangeably with 'language'. Apostles spoke in tongues for the benefit of foreigners in the crowd...many of which understood them.

Some of you are so thoroughly brainwashed by crooked Pastors that you deliberately dodge the Bible itself.

This is prophesy not speaking in tongues.
Religion / Re: 7 Reasons Why Every Believer Should Speak In Tongues - Kenneth E Hagin by LogoDWhiz(m): 2:45pm On May 06, 2018
daveP:
Thats not a miracle, it is the miracle, and that is exaxtly where the term "speaking in tongues" generated, originated from. what they did that day is called "speaking in tongues" and yes it's the miracle cos someone that was a Jew was speaking Russians, parthian, Elam languages. I.e the tongues of other tribes with the speaker totalling unable to speak that tongue naturally via hearing or learning. That is the exact meaning of speaking in tongues.

If we want to go back to origin of tongues, we would have to go back to Genesis. That place is one of the greatest turning points in human history, but very much under emphasized. The Trinity came down to confuse them at the Tower of Babel and thus we are where we are. Thus, the day of Pentecost is a remarkable day cos God's spirit that holds the key to all tongues over the world came to give it to believers only... very remarkable. They spoke in another tongue and that's why Paul referred it to "unknown tongue " cos the speaker doesn't know it, not cos the tongue itself is generally alien to planet earth. No!!

I've seen a granny speak Chinese after baptism of the Holy Spirit. Granny never travel far from offa, Kwara all her 80+ years of existence. Only God's Spirit can do that.

All these are just derived from the scriptures and that's why I'm even still holding onto this stance about speaking in tongues.

In fact Prophecy is more important than tongues for the church's own benefit.

Overall, The significance of the day of Pentecost was that they spoke in tongues and it was unknown to all the speakers, but those who heard(emphasis), heard their own tongue being spoken....

Well, speaking in tongues is not meant to be understood.. That's my point...
Once you can understand it or someone else can, it is no longer speaking in tongues except you are prophesying which is the interpretation of tongues...
Or a miracle...

verse 5 is the most important Vere Of all the verses, you didn't even bolden it.

However, tongues as seen from acts of apostles shows that they were actually speaking a language spoken on the earth but was totally foreign to the speaker.

Why would the Holy Spirit make that the most important part of the new church age if it's not a vital part of the Pentecost day?

people heard these 120 praising God in their own language and they marvelled. Now I dunno, but it's not a gibberish tongue that should be spoken like I'm seeing here and there. This is very important and should not be ignored.

They were actually not speaking in tongues there, it was only a miracle. Like a dumb person being able to speak..
Because when you speak in tongues, only the spirit understands no one else should.
So if someone else understands, then it is a sign of miracle..

An example is a British speaker who hasn't heard Yoruba and can't speak it suddenly start to speak Yoruba in a conference. Would you term it as speaking in tongues or a miracle?

For different reasons my friend. Before I continue, let me inform you that interest rates are negotiable. No two facilities are priced the same. What we have is what we can't do below and above like nobody should charge you above 30% for any facility.

That said, interest rates pegged at 25% is usually for corporate customers not retail customer however, it's not as though it is as low as 10-15% and that's because the funds we receive most of the time are high priced. Take for instance, a customer gives us a 100 million naira deposit for 90 days at 18%. You want 100 million naira for 90 days too, what do you advice we charge?

You'll pay management fee. Maintenance fee. small small 1% or 0.50% fee like that so that we too earn small thing on it. You get? cheesy

That's just how it is. If the funds were free like intervention funds and so on, the interest rate won't be high at all.

Nice point.

You also have to put into consideration the LRR and CRR authorised by CBN. And then the NDIC premium. All these increase the rate at which depositors fund are given to borrowers.

I'm enjoying your thread. Well done
