CultureRe: My Wife-To-Be Is An "Osu" by Lola4eva(f): 3:32pm On Jan 16, 2008
neva heard of the "osu" thing b4 until i saw this thread on nairaland but after reading thru the article and trying to understand what it entails, ive come to the conclusion that its smething that was practised by the forefathers in igbo land. The world is now so civilized nd most of these traditional thingy has virtually been phased out, my advise if ur brother is in luv with his chic and they both believe in God and they know what they want, he shld 4get the osu issue and put a ring on her finger, while also trying to get his parents on his side by educating them that its traditional crap,

TV/MoviesRe: Best Indian Film So Far? by Lola4eva(f): 9:35am On Jan 16, 2008
I'd go for the movie "black", because it isnt centred around the usual bollywood love circle and its a drama, i'd say its an award winning movie and rani mukeji and ambitabh both deserve awards for their roles in the movie, lovely plot.
TV/MoviesRe: Heroes: TV Series by Lola4eva(op): 2:55pm On Jan 15, 2008

i can show u the world
shinning, shimmering, splendid,
tell me princess now when did u you last let ur heart decide,
i can open ur eyes,
take u wonder by wonder,
over sideways and under,
on a magic carpet ride,

a whole new world
a new fantastic point of view
no one to tell us no
or where to go
or say we're only dreaming
blah blah blah blah blah blah etc.

Definitely Aladdin, i can still remember all the songs and the lyrics in that movie,

PoliticsRe: Religious Riot In Bauchi Over Demolished Mosque by Lola4eva(f): 4:43pm On Dec 13, 2007
the truth is that personally i cant reside in the north, i cant even stay in a state that practices sharia. I was raised as a muslim yeah but ive never been taught to kill or maim christians or pple that do not share my religious views. I also do not believe that pple should not be given a second chance (sharia laws), as i said earlier its ur orientation, muslims in the north are extremists and i cant really blame them they believe they are doing what is rite in the name of religion. i cant imagine my father killing me (if that story is true) cos i fail to wear a hijab, i dnt cover my hair or wear the regular kaftans cos my parents understand. However i still believe in God, i try to say my prayers as often as i can, generally do good deeds and live a relatively simple life. If i were to practice my lifestyle in the north and still call myself a muslim, all would instanly call me a sinner and probably maim me, i would be killed as easily as the next christian, reason i dont share their way of life so im not one of them.

In all the years that ive lived in the lagos suburb ive never actually seen or heard of a serious conflict caused by religion, reason is because muslims and christians here have learnt how to tolerate each other, muslims can even attend religious universities such as babcock and convenant and still conveniently practice their religion.

Someone said ignorance is not a defence, i think it is, these northerners are simply ignorant and the political situation in the country aint helping matters.

hem mr davidylan, u didnt answer my question, do ur muslim friends know u cant stand their guts.
PoliticsRe: Religious Riot In Bauchi Over Demolished Mosque by Lola4eva(f): 5:06pm On Dec 12, 2007
@naijaking- i understand your frustations and i also do not agree with the bloodsheds and rioting, there are other ways to solve the problem of a broken down building than resulting to violence, thats why i stated the issue of extremists existing in islam, they believe that by fighting and killing, they're doing their religion justice, the truth is that they do not have anyone to educate them otherwise, thats how they were taught to do right. As i said ealier, not all muslims want to be associated with these killings, some of us are actually sad when we hear of such religious conflicts, it only potrays islam and muslims in a bad light and all the "haters" of the religion have more and more to say, when the truth is they really dont understand
