icecalm: that won't really work if all those tried he mentioned were real. the phone prob presently is that it can't link with the battery, so even charging it is hell that's how I resuscitated my HTC some time ago after I was almost certain the phone had spoilt. If it can't link with the battery, well that's a whole different thing. |

Image123: Do you force children to go to school, or you try not to provoke them? I don't know where you pulled your stats about what homes are manufacturing. Anyways, i believe unbelieving children of PROFESSING christians are a result of either devil's attack, hypocrisy of the parent, or not training UP the children in the Way they should go. let me understand this. So if a child is smart enough to scrutinize information before gulping, he's under demonic attack, or his parents did a bad job training him

ProphetUdeme: ure right. the Lord in ezekiel 18 says when a righteous man turns away from right living and commits sin (idol worship as in the case of solomon) he shall die and those right things he did wont be mention to him but he shall die in his sin. That is the case of solomon. ugh ... Let me break it down. My point was that Solomon, being extra-intelligent, should have been wise enough to know that turning away from god wouldn't benefit him.

Emmalot121: These are pointless and baseless. prove it, otherwise this is an empty statement. I can as well say that I am Yahweh...or that I live on mars.
The complexity of the eyes I think should bother us more than how we wished it to be. Even if these are actually defects, it should rather amaze you how its still possible we can see, even with these perceived 'defects'. our seeing doesn't change the fact that it's suboptimal...maybe you should look up the word. A dog with three legs can still walk ...doesn't mean it has no defect. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Atheists, Answer These Simple Questions. by Longstride: 7:50pm On Dec 20, 2014 |
[b] An omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent creator God would create organisms that have optimal design.
Organisms have features that are suboptimal.
Therefore, God either did not create these organisms or is not omnipotent, omniscient and omnibenevolent.
There are at least six major design flaws in the human eye.
1. Misplacement of the photoreceptor cells
As already mentioned in the above quote from Dawkins, the photoreceptor cells of the human eye point away from the light source, putting all the cabling in front. Only a very small fraction of the light entering the eye is effectively captured by the receptors.
2. Each eye has a blind spot
Because the nerve fibers route before the receptor cells (the retina), they have to pass through the retina in order to leave the eye to the brain. At this spot, there can’t be any receptors, causing a blind spot in each eye (click here for a little demo). At the website of Online Psychology Laboratory you can try a program to map your blind spots.
3. Deviation from perfection
At several places in the eye, the structures are less than perfect. The lens has not a constant refraction index, the visual axis is not identical to the optical axis, the curvature of the eye is not symmetrical, …
4. Blood vessels block the entering light
The blood vessels that feed the receptor cells sit on top of the retina – between the light source and the receptive layer. The estimated prevalence rate for retinopathy, e.g. severe loss of sight, for US adults 40 years and older is about 50%. It is caused by proliferated blood vessels obstructing the light.
5. The price for the transparency of the lens
Because the lens has to be transparent, the nutrition of it has to be done by means of the fluid, surrounding it. The inner cells of the lens thus have a hard time to get the necessary nutrients and the lens becomes gradually less flexible with age.
6. The retina varies considerably in its sensitivity
There is only one, rather little, spot (the fovea) with high resolution. In order to see accurately, we have to move our eyes constantly.

Christianity Etc › Re: Was Solomon Saved? by Longstride: 5:48pm On Dec 20, 2014 |
let me get this straight... Solomon had supernatural wisdom.
Solomon had first hand contact with god..god even gave him a gift of hundred extra IQ points. ...so he definitely knew god existed and was the most high.
Finally, Solomon with all his wisdom, turns away from god and worships idols.
Even the dumbest person should see that something is very off here

davien: It is the product of an action....the same way photons bouncing off of anything to incident on your cornea ams is interpreted by you as "seeing" is the same way your environment and body being reviewed in light of interactions with by the brain's mental activity is a thought. I don't have to prove that you have a thought...because it is a property for you as a mentally active animal...unless you deny being one. So instead of proving "god" you've been running around the questions...is this how you show "god" exists,by dodging questions? you're wasting your time with him. He's grasping straws.
The only thing he's right about is that gods and thoughts are similar ....they exist in your head. |
Christianity Etc › Re: The Evil Spirit That Corrupted Lucifer (satan's) Mind; Where Did It Come From? by Longstride: 12:40pm On Dec 20, 2014 |
Weselion: It was not an evil spirit, it was pride. When God Creates a living thing, he allows them make choices. Angels knew how powerful God was and know the consequence of not worshiping him, the Devil wanted to face the consequence. Even human beings have a choice, its either you worship God or the Devil but there are bad consequences when you worship the devil. isn't our pride and other evil tendencies from the devil? The question is, where did the devil's original pride and evil come from, who tempted him to sin?... Except you wanna say we were created with pride, and other negative traits. |
