Stop confusing yourself. Jacob, David and the Israelites before the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ were Jews and under the judaism where such was permitted i.e marrying more than one wife. But since Jesus Christ, God ordered all mankind to go back to His original plan which is one man and one woman in marriage.

Mathew 19:3-9

3 Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?”
4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’
5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
7 “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”
8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.
9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”

In the above verse, we see Jesus stating it clearly that divorcing your wife and marry another is committing a sin called adultery. He also made it clear that marriage is to be between one man and a woman for them to be one flesh. Adding another woman disrupts the equation. Now, if He frowned at divorcing your wife and marrying another- a thing He sees as adultery- what do you think He will feel about you marrying a new wife in addition to the first one? That is also adultery cos you have brought in a new number which can never make the equation to be one man and one woman equals one flesh.

You can keep dribbling, but as long as Jesus stated that marriage is to be between a man and a woman, not a man and more than one woman, then remaining in a marriage with more than one woman is pure adultery.

When we apply scripture to life situations, it is always pertinent to do that with understanding and with an open heart. First of all, it is necessary to know that you use scripture to interpret scripture. Asking for where the bible directly require restitution if one had two or more wives before being born again is akin to asking where did the bible condemn smoking. There are certain things God permitted in old testament that Jesus in his teaching put in right and clearer perspective, e.g the issue of Moses permitting children of Israel to give notice of divorcement to their wife if they are no longer interested in the marriage. Now it should be clear to all that the pronouncement of Jesus who is the Lord on any scriptural issue is final and supersedes what any other prophet or teacher in old testament had made. So if Jesus teaches in Matthew 19: 4-6 that two shall become one flesh, if you who is that situation is a real born again child of God like the question implies, you will not find it difficult to obey your Lord and Master. So the question of seeking direct place where bible instruct such restitution should not arise in the first place, because God does not approve of the marriage to a second or third wife, and anybody who is in such marriage is living daily in adultery.

I am not saying Rachael wasn't a wife ooo but if you look at the genealogy of Jesus in the Bible with the exception of David (due to certain reasons), every person God used was the result of the union between their father and the first wife...So the first wife is legitimate and the others illegitimate

I never supported putting away. If you become born again you can't put away away the wives you had married. It will be unfair to do such but if you were born again and you got married to a second wife then it is an issue. Hence you have to restitute

The Lord allowed it because of their ignorance ( Act 17:30). Same lord didn't choose Hagar's son instead they were sent away.

You are not divorcing those other women but only sending them away cos they were never yours. Even if it's that you married them legally, in the eyes of God they are not recognized as your wife/wives. That is why your sending them away can never be regarded as divorce in the eyes of God. Divorce is only when you send the first woman you married away.

You've been going about this thread asking for scriptural backing but have ignored the ones given to you. You want them to show you where it is categorically stated that one should restitute the other wives. Ones you are cleared on the fact that a Christian is to be with only one wife, the moment you go against that is the moment you commit adultery which is a sin. Now, if you become born again, you have to do away with every sin. You can't continue being born again while you continue committing sin. Keeping those other women while born again is not genuine repentance but living in sin. You can't eat your cake and have it. You have to send those other wives away for God to see that you have genuinely repented. Now, remember I explained above that sending them away is not divorce in the eyes of God, a thing which He hates. Sending them away is pure obedience unto Him cos He never recognized them as your wife in the first place.

Kindly ignore all those urging you on. They will lead you to your doom.

The word of God is clear on marriage anyone that goes contrary to it has himself or herself to blame. Marry more one wife and end in hell. God was not foolish when he ordained one man one wife

I have told you I am not to be drawn into an argument with you. Are you a Christian, a Church-going one? Is that the position of your church or your personal opinion? If it the position of your church, you don't have any issue here on nairaland, take your case to your pastor. If it is your personal opinion and different from the one your church teaches, quit your church and look for one that suits your sentiment. Finally, if you don't go to Church, find a job, why disturbing those who go and are at peace with their churches' doctrines? They complained to you? Stop being a nuisance on social media.

Are wives married to outside the church recognised by the church? When and where does a Christian marriage takes place should be your first question? Who has the authority to make men and women Christian couples, the custom, the court or the church? If you are able to clear these questions, you might be able to arrive at a conclusion regarding your question. Sorry though, I am not around to answer those question for you.
Your might also ask for more clarification, what is church? What authority does church have in regulating the lives of her members? Is the authority of the church final or can it be questioned?

Your question has been answered but, it seems you prefer argument.
Second or 3rd wife was never recognized as wife rather, as concubine. The bible says the two shall becomes one..not 3 or 4 in Matt. 19:4-5. The reason you have to do restitution is because you were committing adultery and the only mark of true repentance is restitution. Abraham and his children can't be used here as example because they weren't Christians.

No the Bible doesn't support divorce. In this instance the man can still live with the women but they are no more his wives. No conjugal duties. It is advisable he send away. The standard of God doesn't change. He doesn't change his word or standard to suit man.

If you have three children under your roof as your ward and one among them is your biological child while the rest 2 are your wives niece whose father is in abroad expecting to come back , will you change their surname to yours simply because they are under your care? Those extra women are not your wives since you already have one. Their real husbands are waiting somewhere.

let's put it this way, if a man married 2 wives and the 2 wives have all giving birth to grow up children, and latter the man gives his life to christ, do u expect him to divorce the second wife and also disown the children he had with her？

if u have already married b4 without knowing God we call it the days of ignorance, and the bible says that the time of ignorance that God overlooks..

u have to take care of all of them as ur wives with thier children, God is nt a wicked man who is always looking 4 a reason to punish u or send us to hell..
