One thing we subscribers fail to understand is service providers don't activate services on peoples line for fun, services are activated as a result of direct or indirect request(s) from the customer's line.
@ times services are activated as a result of migration to tariff plans or bundle purchase. In cases like this it is clearly spelt out in the terms and conditions which most of us (yes I'm also guilty) fail to read.
And @ other times services are activated by error,false information, or due to ignorance.

Phones / Re: MTN Customer Care Thread by loosecannon: 11:10am On Oct 24, 2013
We keep comparing how things run abroad to how things run here, forgetting that the prevailing factors there are diff from the factors here. We tend to forget that there are factors that come to play here in nigeria, that you won't find abroad.
And until those factors are dealt with, things will not improve, regardless how we rant.

@Mc Bussy
You accuse me of being shallow, yet you're the one that missed the smiley I added to the comment to show I was kidding?
Besides I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth, I clawed my way up, and I learned a lot of things the hard way.

@leggo
Show a lil respect will ya?
Why the insult?
Nobody tied you to any service provider, if u feel cheated feel free to move where u feel less "cheated".
Using android devices isn't a fundamental human right, it is a privilege, and privileges come @ a price.
Like the saying goes "if you can't stand the heat, get the heck out of the kitchen".

@tm-tech
Kind sir, education is a fundamental human right, and as such everybody deserves quality education.
Using android devices, or any gadget for that matter is a privilege, so anybody using them should be ready to pay the cost.

Bro what's your obsession with starvation? grin
The truth is most people tend to suffer, cos they fail to plan, they also fail to utilize their resources judiciously, instead they try to keep up appearances.
Its gonna be hard for someone who plans and sticks to his game plan to "starve".
Nuff said.

@tayo & jide
I'm sorry I derailed your thread.

By the way where is tayo? Isn't it a little irresponsible for the op to abandon his thread?
Phones / Re: MTN Customer Care Thread by loosecannon: 8:44am On Oct 24, 2013
Bro there's this wise saying "cut your coat according to your cloth", the remixed version says "respect your sef", the ugly truth is these products aren't meant for everybody.
There's no point living above your means.

Another thing is y'all keep shouting in the UK blah, blah...
Have you paused to consider the prevailing factors over there?
Is it everybody over there that can afford the plans you used as example?
Do you hear the people that can't afford it b!tch abt it?

Yet you call me ignorant, lol!
Well it takes one to know one sha...
Peace

I wonder why people talk like this, why buy a product you can't afford to maintain based on prevailing market conditions?
Its like someone that can hardly afford petrol, going to buy a bmw cos the initial cost of the car is low, forgetting the long term cost (fueling and maintenance).
Its common knowledge that android devices guzzle data, why buy one if u can't afford to run it on the available data plans? Nigerians and the urge to form big boy/gal sha!

tayoccu: happy independence day to our esteemed customers!!!!!

Run away op

twaintoy: abeg remove ur signature since the isshh has
been stopped. Stop deceiving pple just like your
employers.
Quit making a fool of yourself, the codes the op put in his signature are the codes to register special numbers for the ipulse, trutalk&smooth talk plus, codes people request 4 over and over again.
So please quit the hating, find more productive ways to spend your time.

Still wondering why people don't read, 70% of the problems people are raising here are issues that have been resolved more than once, read people read!!!

Kudos Jide, you're doing a wonderful job. By the way what happened to the Op?
Phones / Re: MTN Customer Care Thread by loosecannon: 1:47pm On Aug 13, 2013
Another thing is Android devices guzzle data faster than an alcoholic @ an open bar, so if you're unable to pay for the data as charged by the telcos, stick to you BBs/java phones, after all a lot of BB users weren't using it when BIS cost 5k.

Visocrate: WHAT ABOUT EMPTY HEN

U can transfer data on mtn too (its in the papers, and on radio too), but you can only transfer large volumes (according to their reps)
Phones / Re: MTN Customer Care Thread by loosecannon: 1:16pm On Aug 13, 2013
I really must commend the Op and JideSM, those guys have done an impressive job.

I took time to read through this thread, and I'm amazed by the people asking MTN for Andriod Internet Service (AIS) just because blackberry users have BIS, their either very ignorant, or they just want to cause trouble for the customer care reps on this thread, cos the BIS package is a RIM bundle and not a service created by service providers ( I stand to be corrected).
Another thing I've noticed is a lot of people didn't read through this thread before posting, that is why you will find people asking for solutions that have been provided (eg the best friend number on pulse), please people endeavor to read before posting, it will save both your time, and the reps, and if d solutions don't work, post your comment, and PM the reps.
Another issue is the fact that we nigerians do not pay attention to details, every service comes with its terms and conditions, most times we agree to terms and conditions without knowing the contents, and when we encounter difficulties we cry foul, we only have the right to cry foul when our rights stated by theT&C are violated.

that said, all the telcos in nigeria need to up their game, you guys have achieved a lot since 2001, but you guys can do much better.
#my2cents.
