These guys are fighting very hard from Spain to frustrate Pep. They obviously knew that nothing could impede Pep's success in Bayern, but they still chose to try. I wish Pep doesn't listen to them. |
Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola has hit out at Barcelona president Sandro Rosell and the club's directors. Guardiola left Barcelona in the summer of 2012 after four seasons in charge, saying he needed to "recharge my batteries", and announced he would be taking a year's sabbatical in New York. However, Guardiola, whose first two years at Barca had come under Joan Laporta's presidency, told a press conference that Rosell had refused to grant him the "peace" he had requested when walking away from the Camp Nou. "I told them [the president and his directors] I was going 6,000km away and asked them to leave me in peace, but they haven't kept their word," he said. "I did my time [at Barcelona] then decided to leave. "I want them to get on with the job and I wish them all the success in the world, because their success will also be mine - I don't need to say what I feel for this club." Guardiola revealed he had been incensed by the suggestion that he had not made the effort to see Tito Vilanova, his former assistant, when the current Barca coach had travelled to New York for cancer treatment. "Too many things have happened that have crossed the line," Guardiola told the media in Lake Garda, where Bayern are holding a pre-season training camp. "I will never forget that they used Tito's illness to cause me damage, because it's a lie that I never saw him in New York. "I saw him once, and the reason I didn't see him more often was because it wasn't possible, and that wasn't my fault. To say that I don't wish the best of someone who was my colleague for so many years is very bad taste, and I didn't expect that." He added: "If any of the things I've said is not true, come out and rebut it, but it has to be them [Rosell and the board], not intermediaries or Barcelona messengers. Them." Despite his anger, Guardiola intends to be cordial when Barcelona meet Bayern in a pre-season friendly on July 24. "I did the best I could at Barcelona," he said. "The staff and coaches have nothing to worry about. I left and have nothing to complain about - all I asked was to be left in peace. "I went off to learn English and I ended up trying to learn German. That was all I focused on. I just ask the board to go their own way and leave me alone and stop using me and my friends to hurt me." Guardiola also wanted to make clear that he had not told Neymar's father that Vilanova would not be able to play the Brazilian in the same side as Lionel Messi. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed that Guardiola had sought to take Neymar to Bayern prior to the forward's Barca move, and Santos vice-president Odlio Rodrigues claimed the new Bayern coach had spoken to the player's father to try to dissuade him from joining the Blaugrana. Guardiola insists that was not the case. "I don't know the vice-president of Santos but probably his intermediaries have got this very wrong, because the information they have given him is false," he said. "I would never make any comments like those he said I made." He added: "The best players can always play together and those two are capable of playing together for many years." |
dayokanu: Apparently Pep wants Thiago Alcantara.I don't see any problem with that. I think something like this only makes the players more desperate to impress. |
solomon111: He wants buhari to take over.thanks for letting him know. |
biafranqueen: If the women are real Christine they should know that nothing can happen to them in evil Forrest or shrine.so if they are not christians something would happen to them? |
size38: Ya, I support d impeachment of GEJ because he has outlived his usefulness in d polity. How can any sensible person exnorate d president in all of these? Last month when Dame patience was in port harcourt, she attended d wedding ceremony of Evan Bipi, d self acclaimed new speaker in rivers state now. What must have given him and his other 4 law makers to come into d assembly wit fake mace to impeach a speaker? Can ordinary 5 law makers impeach a speaker in a house that has 32 members? So who d back bone of these errand boys in rivers stateand how could a sensible person support the impeachment of mr president only claiming that he's outlived his usefulness in the polity ![]() |
Symphony007: I love president jonathan and if i were old enough, i would have voted for him in 2011, the reason i am so hard on him because of this ameachi saga is because he just blew it, he has given the opposition enough brass to jab him with.you have a point there though I don't agree with you intoto. |
earthgreeners: Accuse me instead, cos na me wan chop 1.3 Billion naira food . olodo oshiilol... Na this one be your problem? |

If Keshi is to heed to Oliseh's advice, their would be a greater chance for the S.E to excel in Brazil next year. But if he's to listen to you guys criticizing Oliseh, he'd regret it cuz what happened at the confederations cup would be too little to compare with what's going to happene in Brazil. |
disneyemmy: d major problem we nigerians have is d fact that we always fail to understand ourselves. Wot is wrong in oliseh advising keshi on how to improve the s.E team. We all know dat d team underperformed at d conf.cup. 4 crying out loud, we are a football nation, we shud av outshined uruguay if things were right. Dere r stuborn and saucy players in d spain nat. Team.bt d coach will nt let ds players go cos he wnt 2 achiue result 4 himself nd 4 d country. 4 keshi to be d c oach of d team dosn't mean he knws all. Let!s swallow our pride and work togeda 2 raise d name of dscountry.exactly what I've been trying to say here, some people are really are show casing their ignorance thinking that they are wise. I haven't seen where a coach was criticized by the media and he took it up as a personal fight. |
WildChild00: He was airing his own opinion, as a sport commentator for Super sports, dat is wat I was about saying.ok o |
collynzo2: .so transfer window was already closed clubs cannot bid for a player again? Lame criticism! |
WildChild00: My take on the issue between coach Stephen Keshi and Sunday Oliseh is this, both of them have really tried and countributed to the development of football to our dear country Nigeria no doubt about that, but has anybody ever ask himself/herself why coach Stephen Keshi is always to quick to defend his team, as in when they do badly, "we are still re-building, and as you can see, the xyz team has been together for 3-4years, why the super eagles for just 8 months" must Keshi always say this when they loose? He said this wen we lost to Spain, etc....what do you mean by Oliseh is an analysis ![]() |
"If he can accept our support and praise, he should accept our constructive critics in the interest of the country and making enemies left and right is not the way to go, obviously some of us do not learn from the past! The interest of Nigeria comes first than that of Sunday Oliseh or Stephen Keshi!" what more does he (Oliseh) need to say? |
mrjingles: Oliseh got it totally WRONG! he succumbed to emotions on the day of the match and is too proud to admit his error. I was sooo mad at him on the day in question because he was talking RUBBISH on this matter and he is STILL talking rubbish. Lets analyse the absentees:Oga some of those players you listed as injured were not really injured. Moses faked his injury. You are talking about IK Uche not in form, by now you should have known that even injured he's better than Gambo in the field. What was his reason for not calling Haruna? The issue of Osaze is a totall failure on Keshi's side, I was expecting him to play a fatherly role over that issue, ie acting as a mediator between Osaze and Nigerians. One thing you should understand is that Oliseh is doing his job and with it Keshi can get a better result. For you to come here and counter Oliseh's opinion is unprofessional of you, cuz it's only going to make Keshi ignore more criticism instead of learning from them. |
edoyad: Sunday(kpomo lips) Oliseh, please be quiet already. Keshi has contributed more to Nigerian football than you could ever do even if you lived to be two hundred years old. I didn't like your personality much as a player and many Nigerians feel that way too.shut up there!! Who told you Nigerians feel the stup!d way you feel about Oliseh? Look at you calling Oliseh names. SMH. |
You guys should stop saying Oliseh is bitter or whatever, he's just doing his job. For now he's an analyst, a super one. |
I stopped reading when I read where he said that being a foreign based player does not mean that they want to favour you but because you are one of the best from your country. Ideye just came to my mind and I'm asking myself is Ideye really one of the best footballers presently in Nigeria or is he one of the best goats waiting to be slaughtered on christmas? |
mmmustapha: may almighty Allah punish u,animal.Ameen |

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben is determined to build on his impressive 2012-13 campaign by making the most of the club's pre-season schedule. Robben, 29, won plenty of admirers as he helped inspire Bayern to the Treble last season, scoring the winner in the 2013 Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund. And unlike in previous years, the Netherlands international joined up with his team-mates for pre-season this week without carrying an injury - an opportunity he is eager to make the most of. "In previous years, my summer holidays lasted until October. It's not true that I was injured - I was faking it," he joked to Gazzetta dello Sport. "This time, I have to start immediately, but I'll get used to it." Such light-heartedness did not used to be so common from Robben, who was even considering bringing his career to a premature end as he initially struggled with injuries last season. However, after overcoming his problems, he is now raring to go once again. "I wasn't looking to prove anything to anybody, but what I did show is that with hard work, patience and the will to believe, even when I was always broken or on the bench, I was able to be born again," he said. "I've started receiving more compliments." The individual compliments do not count for much, according to the Dutchman, who says Bayern are about more than just one player. "Individual awards are worth less than the ones for the team," he said. "Bayern won as a team. We don't have [Lionel] Messi or [Cristiano] Ronaldo, who polarise everybody, we are a balanced and strong squad." So strong, says Robben, that they fear "nobody" going into the 2013-14 season. "All we have to look at is Bayern," he said. "We are in a phase with new ideas and we are starting over, but we need to continue along the same road we are on. We are not concerned by anybody else." Following their success last term, the new campaign is arguably going to be even tougher for Bayern. Robben, though, insists that their hunger to succeed remains and that they are gunning for more glory. "We no longer have the pressure of having to win at all costs, and we are no longer angry and disappointed for the finals we lost, but that does not mean that, with no revenge on our minds, we are flat," he said. "We have six trophies to play for and we're going to try to take every single one of them." Meanwhile, Serie B club Brescia are preparing for one of the biggest games of their season on Tuesday as they welcome back Pep Guardiola, who leads Bayern out for what is set to be their stiffest test of pre-season so far. |
dayokanu: ^^ How is that a surprise when we pummeled the champions of Spain and Italy by 11-0 aggregatesthis is what many people are yet to know. |
