Fitzy4real: I think the Rivers State youths who protested against the visiting northern governors were just being dumb. What was their plan? What did they hope to achieve? I say this because these hausa guys are very volatile. They could have decided to use this as a reason to start a riot and kill southerners living in the north. #justsaying#
of course the northerners are volatile but they should know that no group has monopoly of violence not even the Iraqis.

These youths should for once act matured and civillized.
Northerners are among the ethnic groups benefiting more from the integration of this country and should be very carefull not to do anything more that may cause unnecessary chaos among Nigerians which could lead to its' disintegration.
They should avert the repetition 1956 Kano riots if they are wise.
Politics › Northern Youths Threaten Reprisal Against Niger-Delta Governors Over Attack by Lordave(op): 8:05am On Jul 23, 2013
Northern youths, yesterday, took issueup with the Inspector General of Police and the Presidency, asking them to tender a public apology to the four northern governors, who were attacked by political thugs opposed to the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, last week as well as threaten reprisal attack.
It will be recalled that some riotous youths suspected to have been sponsored, pelted stones on the covey of Amaechi and his visiting colleagues from Jigawa, Niger, Kano and Adamwa states, damaging some vehicles in the process.
They placard-bearing elements also asked the visitors to leave the state, as they were not welcome.
But in their first reaction to the development, northern youths demanded an urgent sack of the RiversPolice Commissioner for turning a blindeye to the assault on the five governors while in Rivers State.
The youths under the aegis of Arewa Youth Forum and Northern Youth Congress noted with regrets that the attack of their governors in Port Harcourt, which was premeditated, could lead to a North-South conflict if not well handled.
The National President of the Arewa Youths Forum, Alhaji Gambo Gujungu, described the attack on the four northern governors by the sponsored Rivers politicians as an assault on the people of the region and an attempt toprovoke a north-south crisis.
Gujungu demanded that the CP who said he was on top of the situation in Rivers State and the Inspector General of Police should explain to the nation why some thugs should be allowed to descend on visiting governors all in a bid to protect the interest of a faction in the Rivers crisis.
“It is the view of AYF that the attack on the four visiting northern governors and Amaechi was premeditated and targeted as humiliating them so as to provoke a North-South conflict so as topave the way for the President, who is an interested party in the crisis, to declare a state of emergency in the state.
“We therefore, demand an open apology from all the actors, who set out to inflict bodily injury on our sons during their innocuous visit to Rivers State. Failure to do so, we might be compelled to confront top-ranking officials of the government we consider as being ‘unfriendly’ to the north.
The group asked the Presidency to take urgent steps to end the crisis in Rivers State, as it would not do him or those he considers as his enemies any good at the end of the day.
On his part, the National Coordinator ofthe NYC, Abdulmumini Tijani, asked the Presidency to allow Amaechi to perform his functions as the duly elected chairman of the NGF without and orchestrated intimidation harassment.
Tijani warned the Plateau State Governor, Da jang, who is trying to usurp the seat from Amaechi through the backdoor, to desist forthwith from parading himself as the NGF leader, so as to save the nation avoidable embarrassment.
The group warned that all the elements, who have elected to persecute the Rivers State Governor Amaechi to desist from such action or be ready to face the wrath of the Nigerian people.
The NYC asked the controversial Rivers CP, Mbu Joseph Mbu, to urgently resign from his office for taking side in the crisis and denting the image of the police force in the process.
“ For Mbu’s admitted nonchalance, negligence of duty and total complicityin the crimes perpetrated against the governor of Rivers State, the state House of Assembly and the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the CP should resign from office forthwith.
“In the event that he Mbu remains adamant and refuses to resign, we call on the IG to sack him and subject him to thorough investigation.
The northern group also called on the five lawmakers in the Rivers State House of Assembly who attempted to impeach the Speaker for pecuniary reasons to be recalled and be prosecuted for fighting and brutality.
“They said, “President Goodluck Jonathan should break his silence; condemn these desterdaly acts of brigandage being visited on the good person of the governor of the state andthe people and to deal with the security breaches in Rivers State.
“The Nigeria Police should tender an unreserved apology to the four Northern governors for permitting the breakdown of law and order, which led to the attacks on the governors.
“In view of the fact the Minister of State for Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike, has diverted his from minding his duty and concentrated his efforts on the local Rivers politics while the entirty of the educational sector has been brought to a grinding halt, he should resign forthwith,” NYC demanded.
But Wike fired back at the group, saying that they were ignorant of his role as a Minister of State for Education, questioning what their interest was in Rivers politics.
Accusing them of being sponsored by politicians, the Minister asked them to desist from toying with his name, as hehad done his best to resolve the ASUP strike and was talking with ASUU to ensure the resumption of lectures in the universities across the country.
“If these people have nothing to do, they should stop moving about and insulting people who are working for the country,” Wike said.http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/07/northern-youths-threaten-reprisal-against-nd-governors-over-attack/

Politics › Group To Name A Multi-Million-Naira Edifice Okonjo-Iweala. by Lordave(op): 8:28pm On Jul 22, 2013
Worried by the alarming rate of unemployed youths in Abia State, Umuahia Premier Club, a social cultural group has concluded plans to build a multi-million Naira Economic Resource Centre in Abuja aimed to create over 1,000 jobs for indigenes of the state.

The Centre to be named after the Coordinating Minister of Economy and Minister of Finance, Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iwaela is basically to address the issue of unemployment, which resulted in incidence of kidnapping, armed robbery and other social vices in the state.Ngozi-Okonjo-Iweala

To actualise this dream, the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Emeka Wogu has made a donation of N.5 million towards the commencement of the edifice, which he described as a welcome development.

Disclosing this at the induction of new members and conferment of meritorious award ceremony, the chairman of Abuja branch of Umuahia Premier Club, Chucks Nwaononiwu, explained that the Club decided to name the centre after Okonjo-Iweala because of her rise to the top of her profession.

He said, “we plan to develop an Umuahia Premier Club complex with an E-library, skill acquisition centre, club house with sports facilities and Economic Resource Centre to be named after Dr. Okonjo-Iweala.

“We have applied for land and we will pursue the development with our strength and trust that when we call for help most of you here will support us to the best of your abilities. The Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iwaela Economic Resource Centre will be responsible for supporting our numerous unemployed graduates in Umuahia and beyond to develop their skills in other vacations like IT, printing technology, graphic arts, music, fashion, design and a lot of other skills. The whole complex will generate jobs for at least 1, 000 youths when completed.”

The highlight of the event was award of excellence in public service bestowed on the Coordinating Minister of Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. Other eminent personalities honoured with the Minister include Air Vice Marshal Chimechefulam Onyemaobi, Air Officer Commanding Tactical Air Command, Makurdi, Real Admiral Azubuike Ajuonu, Flag officer Commanding Naval Training Command, Lagos and Chief Onyema Ugochukwu, pioneer Chairman of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.

The Briton who was kidnapped last Tuesday, July 16, few minutes after he landed the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, by gunmen has been rescued by policemen attached to the Lagos State Police Command.
Vanguard gathered that a combined team of operatives from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, and their counterpart from the Special Intelligence Bureau, SIB, stormed an uncompleted two storey building at Okota Isolo area of Lagos State, rescuing the British national and arresting a suspect.
Police sources told Vanguard that the kidnappers demanded a ransom of onemillion dollars before the Briton could be released, but the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Umar Manko, ordered a clamp down on the kidnap gang.

They used these Uche Ezechukwus, Iwaanyanwus, Asikas and the likes to rule Nigeria for years and they still use them to get their ways in the country. What a shame to them and their IBO so called intellectual dogs. For the senate to durst shame from YERIMA children has got no more RIGHT in Nigeria. - Advice to foreigners, please be careful with your children in Nigeria.

blueheffner: I don't jst know why pple just like exaggerating issues like this, the issue of child marriage was introduced because of the high level of maoral decadence in Nigeria,u will see a girl of 12 years olhaving undergone several abortions,so what are u talking about, the truth is dat in this our society our female children are being exposed to sexual practices at a very early age, u can visist hospitals and inquire frm the doctors abt the issue, and the grrom has no right to consumate the marriage unttil the the girl attains maturity, will u rather have a girl having multiple sex partners b4 marriage, if u ask some girls how many sexual partners they've had, some have even lost count, atleast if she has express commitment to a man, she will knw where her loyalty lies, and won't turn herself into differnt pple's sexual object, and of whic the girl has the write to revoke the marriage any time she likes, so she is not forced into anything, and the notion that prophet mohammed married the girl at 6 and consumated the marriage at the marriage at the age of 9 is a big fat lie.
so because many girls have had several abortions at 12 there is no problem with this foolish lawhuh I'm sure the ones you know of are your daughters or sisters.
And again prophet Burahmmed saw didn't marry at 6 but 44, he married a 6 year old at 44 and had her when she was nine. I know you still won't have a problem with that cuz you are a hopeless son of the mofo prophet Burahmmed.

jeebz: Bayern do not need thiago. Schweini and Martinez are the bomb. Luis Gustavo is excellent cover. Emre can and hojsberg could go on loan and develop into great talent. Kroos will play behind Madzukic, Gotze can play left, right and behind the striker.Muller can also play behind the striker. I repeat Bayern need not Thiago Alcantara.
oga to me every club needs Thiago, don't forget that Bayern have a bunch of injury prone players. Moreover, there is supposed to be a stiff competition in our midfield as it brings out the best in players, plus you guys should stop being pessimistic on about Peps' philosophy.
