Thought I'd outgrown this shii. But ist getting worse. I don't like being hugged especially by females. When someone reaches out to hug me I feel like getting out of that situation really quick.

Shey I normal like this? I hope there are other nairalanders that can relate. I no like hugs at all. Just shake me and leave me tf alone.
Sounds like unresolved trauma. Humans are naturally drawn to touch, if you are rejecting it then something is impinging on your mind when it happens. Maybe explore memories of your childhood and formative years, you might recall what triggered this type of response.

I'll give you an instance. Growing up my parents unduly restricted my going out and the question where are you going became symbolic of that restriction. Anytime anybody asks me that question now I get very angry.

So people who go to church religiously are pretending a god exists since there is no difference, right?

Why bothering myself when I can now see clearly?

The same way your favorite atheist here, Hardmirro got "religious" for a while.

You should ask him how he was able to do it despite being atheist, otherwise tell me the difference, except that it didn't work out for him as it did for this guy.
I go to church almost every Sunday so that means I am pretending god exists?

I was in the Redemption City two years ago for the March special Programme. Pastor Adeboye said that God is touching eyes. I used to have a pair of glasses with two different lenses of different power. Since that day, my eyesight has been restored, no more glasses.
Is that fabu?
How can we verify what you say is the real question.

This so called testimony from Adeboye happened in a hospital but no doctors are reporting such an occurance? That woman would have been studied from here to the moon.

Talking about studied, did you report this "miraculous" eyesight recovery to your ophthalmologist/optometrist for a check up?

brainycaleb:
Two pastors were fined 1 million won ($723) each for disrupting a domestic flight by loudly preaching to passengers and refusing repeated requests from cabin crew to stop, local media reported Monday.

The pastors, 64 and 68, were convicted of violating the Aviation Security Act over an incident aboard a flight from Jeju to Gimpo that departed at around 3:40 p.m. on March 12, according to the Seoul Southern District Court’s Aug. 18 ruling.

The court said the 64-year-old pastor stood in the aisle despite repeated attempts by crew members to stop him and shouted at passengers, “You will go to hell if you don’t believe in Jesus.”

Atheist Pretends God Is Real For 30 Days. See What Happens

Brain Guan, an atheist, decided to pretend God exists for 30 Days to see if it made any positive difference in his life.

On day 20, he said he was done pretending that "this shit is real dude. Jesus is real, Jesus is my Lord and savior"

“That's why I laughed when I heard that one joke said I was faking miracles. There's no need to fake miracles. Some of the miracles God has been performing in our midst, they're difficult to believe.

I remember one when I was praying in my prayer room last night, God reminded me of one. A friend had c@ncer of the bræst. They took her to the hospital and cut off one that one bræst so that she wouldn't d!ẹ̀.

This lady went to visit her friend in the hospital. It's sad to see her in that situation. And they took one anointed handkerchief that we had prayed over and laid it on the wound and prayed. Two weeks later, a new bræst had grown.”

Basically when I was a kid, I used to see a lot stars in the sky, right now it's no longer like that
Probably light pollution. Our cities have a lot more lights now and the light causes interference with the lights from the stars making them harder to see. If you want to star gaze you have to go somewhere where there is less of that. That is why most observatories are not in large population centers to reduce light pollution.

Technology Market › Re: Why Are Major Corporate Offices And Estates Still Using Paper Logbooks In 2026? by LordReed(m): 6:52pm On Aug 24
obotsim:
Guys, let’s talk about something I noticed recently.

You walk into a big corporate building in Victoria Island, Ikeja, or even a high-security gated estate in Lekki or even Government ministries in Abuja. The lobby looks like a 5-star hotel, glass everywhere, AC humming...

...and then the security guard hands you a dirty paper logbook and a counter pen to write down your full name, phone number, house address, and signature.

Think about it for a second: Everyone who checks in after you can see your private phone number and home address. Under the current Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA), that open paper register is literally an active data breach. If someone wants your phone number to start spamming or scamming you, all they need to do is look at the desk logbook!

Aside from the privacy risk, deciphering bad handwriting and calling host offices on WhatsApp wastes so much time.

This is why we built www.visitorslounge.com

It replaces paper registers with a quick 90-second tablet check-in:

🔒 100% NDPA Data Privacy Compliant: Visitor details are digitized & encrypted instantly.

⚡ Instant Host Alerts: Your host gets an automatic SMS/Email alert the moment you tap check-in.

📵 Built for Naija Network Realities: Works 100% offline and syncs automatically when the network returns.

🏷️ Instant Badge Printing: Prints visual QR badges for total building security.

If you manage a corporate office, tech hub, multi-tenant building, or residential estate, stop risking data fines and lobby congestion.

We are offering a 30-Day Free Enterprise Pilot for offices and estates looking to upgrade their reception.

Check out www.visitorslounge.com or email us info@visitorslounge.com
🚀 Meet us live at GITEX Nigeria 2026!

To be a successful pastorpreneur, you have to totally deconstruct the belief system.

No one who actually believes the things they say would do the things they do. You can tell they don’t believe it. That’s why they have qualms or guilt about taking advantage like they do.
Honestly that is my hangup. The thought of taking advantage of the poor especially has my insides roiling.

After pastor Chris time them in 2020 that 5G was of the devil, he’s now releasing an electric car that uses 5G.

I also know he prophesied that in 6-10 years the end of the world would come (that was also in 2020 ish). It’s been 6 years since then and nothing has changed. If he believes his own prophecy, why is he creating million dollar businesses on earth when it’s all about to go kaput?

If they love being bamboozled, I love it for them.
I hypotheses that they don't really believe in the end of the world shtick at least not after a certain period. Younger believers tend to believe it more but as they age and experience more of life they see that this thing is as ephemeral as smoke. That is when they begin to create empires. Oyakhilome, Oyedepo, Adegboye, etc. Look at their earlier ministry, it was about waiting for the 2nd coming. Now, it is about consolidating their organisations. You hardly hear them talk about it much.

I am seriously thinking of joining them. Religious fervor is so sweet to milk.

I have a good suggestion for the victims if they are reading this. Draw up a list and have someone in Congress read out the list. On the floor Congress critters have permanent immunity.

What even is conservative research?

Scientific research has nothing to with conservatism or otherwise. Science is an unbiased practice and all credible scientific data are peer-reviewed and reproduced repeatedly to prove or disprove results.

If you feel like conservative research isn’t getting the attention or funding, then it’s more than likely that it's flawed and not credible information.

Heidi being a doctor should KNOW that peer review and evidence-based practice is what has improved modern medical research and medicine to where we are able to cure things that were erstwhile incurable.

I hate when people who should and do know better sell their souls for money and acquiescence to power.

For them it means "thoughts and prayers" going forward. Clearly many of Trump’s picks for the CDC/FDA own companies that sell wellness products/supplements or shill for supplement companies, and/or own stock in them. The goal of these "leaders" is to make healthcare unaffordable, make Americans afraid of prescription meds, make them distrust physicians and medical procedures.

Remove trust in evidence-based medicine and Americans will begin grasping at anything online (like their ivermectin craze) that promises to cure their illness or injury. It also feeds into the ultra right-wing mindset of "just pray your sickness away".

It makes vulnerable, frightened people more susceptible to religious influences. As a Christian, I’m sick of watching grifters using religion to get rich and gain political power.
Unfortunately Pandora's box has been opened and many have seen that religion is an easy pathway to political power.

Following the expiration of a 60-day deadline for a U.S.-Iran deal, Iranian state media responded with aggressive rhetoric, with broadcasters threatening to "fill the mouths" of American officials with dust and declaring a 47-year war against the United States.

Iranian officials, including IRGC Gen. Mohammad Reza Naghdi and security council chief Ali Larijani, declared the U.S. "finished" and warned against interference, while signaling a shift toward a "fully offensive" posture to break the naval blockade.

You can find more details on this topic at MEMRI and Reuters.
