Nairaland General › Re: 10 Things That White People Don’t Like About Nigerians By Aroms Aigbehi by LordsBattleAxe(m): 11:57am On Sep 28, 2017 |
Marcelo290: Hmmm So whites are now gods we all must live trying to please, they aren't better either, here are my main reasons for hating them too..
1. Exploitation: They are always looking for means to exploit others, the scars of their hazardous Colonial leadership in Africa leaves us with pains, if in doubt read 'how Europe underdeveloped Africa' by Walter Roodney. They refused to teach us about technology and industrialization, rather, they brought religion to us and divided us so they could exploit more for their ailing European markets.
2. Racism: They view themselves as the superior race and look down on others. We thank God for people like Martin Luther King, still at that, racism remains inherent amongst them.
3. Neocolonialism: They are still trying to control blacks and Africans indirectly as we see today, oppose them and you meet your Waterloo...you can ask Lybians about Gaddafi. They also contributed to imposing an old uneducated man on us, so we all could continue licking their butts.
There are many more of them, my point? they aren't any better. respect!... I love the fact that you mentioned the book by Walter Rodney... . That was an eye-opener.. . Made me see communism in a new light |

Family › Re: Today's Experience Changed My View On Domestic Violence by LordsBattleAxe(m): 3:53pm On Sep 17, 2017 |
Evaberry: very few men are victims of domestic violence. Women always bear the brunt of a man's anger
No matter what a woman says or does, a man should never hit her, a man is physically stronger than a woman so hitting her will inflict serious physical damage, whereas a woman may not cause any real harm to a man.
Op the husband in your write Up should have quietly left the compound and go relax somewhere until he was sure his wife had calmed down. when a woman is angry she throws all reason and caution to the wind, it therefore falls on the man to be understanding and reasonable
Engaging in a fisticuffs with a woman is wrong and should be condemned. trust me... I hate domestic violence, but do you know how deep emotional wounds run.....?. I totally don't agree with what you said |

That guy is greater than God for having such a bright mind, Even God the owner of the said universe can not put checks and balances to such disastrous disaster like hurricane. I believed if Einstein was still alive, he would have proffered solution to help Astrophysicist solve this hurricane disaster. .. Oya go resurrect Einstein... |

ayo527: Good morning everyone.. I need people who can transcribe.
The kind of transcription i'm talking about is the conversion of an audio recording to a word document.
TASK: What you basically do is to listen to what is being said in the audio and type it out.
PAYMENT: The pay is 2k for an hour long audio (60 minutes long audio). Which means if you're able to do an hour per day, you would earn 2k and if you do this for 7 days, you would earn 14k in 7 days.
I must however let you know that transcription takes a lot of time and can be very stressful.
You should also know that you will need to transcribe a 3 minute long audio as test for me to determine whether you can do this.
Kindly contact my signature if you're interested.
Thanks. this is my email cesarevernicci@gmail.com |

Number Eight: Mothers Talk to Their Eggs Hens can actually communicate with their unborn chicks. The babies respond to their mothers by chirping back through the shell.
Number Seven: Extraordinary Navigating Abilities These impressive birds can actually use the sun as a compass when they live in the wild. This ability helps them find food and water and even decipher the time of day.
Number Six: They Like Dust Baths The animals enjoy dust baths, and use it as a form of cleaning, warding off parasites and maintaining feather quality. They cannot perform this while in factory farms and become very frustrated as a result.
Number Five: They Were Not Domesticated for Food Originally Based on somewhat recent archaeological research, we have learned that chickens may not have been intended just for food originally. Instead, chickens in Asia were most likely first bred by humans for cockfighting.
Number Four: Chinese Silkie Chickens These are a unique type of chicken and are known for their very dark meat. It’s due to a genetic condition which affects the pigment cells and makes the bones, skin, and organs turn either black or a dark blue color.
Number Three: Which Came First, the Chicken or the Egg? It seems that this famous question has an answer as of 2010. Scientists came up with a protein necessary for healthy eggs. This protein is impossible without the existence of a chicken, so it’s been concluded that the chicken came first. Number Two: Tonic Immobility These birds can get hypnotized when very afraid. When the animal thinks it’s about to die, it enters a catatonic state and freezes up completely, losing all mobility.
Number One: They are Surprisingly Resilient If you don’t think chickens are that impressive, it may change your mind to learn that research has proven that they survive 90 percent of attacks from predators while living in the wild. |
Pets › (fun Facts) 15 Facts You Probably Don't Know About The Chicken by LordsBattleAxe(op): 11:29pm On Jun 13, 2017*. Modified: 12:08am On Jun 14, 2017 |
The chicken is one of the most common animals on this planet. More of these birds are raised and killed for food than any of the other creatures on earth, combined. We typically only think of them in terms of food, but there are many interesting facts about the bi[sub][/sub]rds. Here is part one of our list.
Number Fifteen: Amazing Memories These birds can differentiate between more than 100 faces of other chickens. In fact, their memory is so good, it’s comparable to elephants.
Number Fourteen: More Than 24 Unique Vocalizations Chickens communicate to one another about what they see. Each sound has a unique meaning, such as warning their friends about predators or telling their mother they are comfortable.
Number Thirteen: They Dream It’s been proven scientifically that these birds experience REM. This leads researchers to believe that they dream just as humans do.
Number Twelve: A Chicken Is Smarter Than a Toddler Quite astoundingly, they have been known to exhibit mathematical reasoning and self-control. They also possess knowledge of “object permanence”, meaning the ability to know that when an object is hidden from view, it still exists somewhere. This is a skill that even young children do not have a lot of the time.
Number Eleven: They Were Originally Tropical Animals It’s hard to conceive of now since we’re used to seeing them on farms or locked in a pen, but the chicken originated in tropical rain forests. They evolved there for millions upon millions of years.
Number Ten: Automatic Chicken Catchers In the poultry industry, there used to be a job called manual chicken catching. This was named the worst job ever in the industry because it caused severe back pain and carpel tunnel syndrome. As a result of this, an electronic device has been invented that does the job and spares the manual laborers.
Number Nine: Bird Hierarchies Similar to humans, chickens create social structures, and are well aware of where they exit on this ladder. These are known as “pecking orders”.

Education › Re: 7 Common English Phrases You're Probably Using Wrong by LordsBattleAxe(m): 5:31pm On Jun 08, 2017 |
vargasvictory: 1. Behind the sheets
It's common you hear people talk about what happens in their bed thereby making use of 'Behind the sheets'. Actually the correct line is "BETWEEN THE SHEETS"
2. I could care less
You're in a situation, probably angered by someone, in a bid to get back at him/her, you say 'I could care less', this is wrong because the sentence actually means you're concerned about the situation. The correct phase is "I COULDN'T CARE LESS"
3. First-come, First serve
This one is very popular among the Nigerians, because it talks about feeding the monsters in our belly, and it's a common notion that if you're on time you would be attended to early enough. the right sentence is "FIRST-COME, FIRST SERVED"
4. Cousin brother/sister
You hear people say, 'He's my cousin brother'. The word cousin is a noun and not an adjective, making it irrelevant to describe the gender of the cousin. "SHE'S MY COUSIN" is just about right.
5. Marriage v Wedding
A lot of us substitute Marriage for Wedding and vice versa, whilst this is wrong. "WEDDING" is the ceremony where you get married and "MARRIAGE" is the state of being married
6. Wreck havoc
You see headlines with 'All he did was wreck havoc'. Now that's clearly wrong. The correct phrase should be "ALL HE DID WAS WREAK HAVOC"
7. Breath/Breath
A BREATH is the air we inhale or exhale while BREATHE is the act of inhaling or exhaling
Dropping my pen at this stage nicely said@op....watched the news recently and noticed "rebel" was pronounced as "reble" |
