It is a defence mechanism. You have learnt to cope with life disappointments and other unpleasant things in life by choosing not to deal with them in a confrontational way or process the emotional aspect that would be associated with such things instead you compartmentalise and behave as if it never occurred. This leaves you vulnerable and also makes people think you are callous and cold. It’s not easy to find a way around this because this is the way you cope with things unless you can afford to explore other ways via psychotherapy for example . I would not be so hard on myself if I was you.

I love your analysis. I'm also in the same situation as the OP. Mine started this year after a betrayal from someone I call "blood". Gradually, I noticed that the part of me cared so much just fizzled away. It wasn't worth the efforts anymore.

The school management has refused to release the Statement of Result that will enable them to enter NYSC Camps. This development has resulted in a fierce protest against the school. It got to a stage where the DSA was escorted by Cultists, and shots were fired within the school premises

My school is on strike and it doesnt seem likely our statement of results would be ready before 15th. I was told OAU and Uniabuja students have been accepted into the camp with "To Whom" letters before.
