PRESIDENT BUHARI APPOINTS MATILDA MMEGWA AS SENIOR SPECIAL ASSISTANT ON EMPLOYMENT AND JOB CREATION

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mrs Matilda Mmegwa as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Employment and Job Creation (Office of the Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment.)

The Senior Special Assistant, who has held a number of posts in the private sector in Canada and international organisations, will work under the leadership of the Minister of Labour and Employment on issues of job creation.

Mrs Mmegwa brings to the position over 30 years’ experience in the field of strategic leadership, corporate governance, social inclusion and economic development.

She is an internationally decorated Presenter/Keynote Speaker and was the lead discussant at the Commonwealth Association for Public Administration and Management (CAPAM) conference in Tanzania in 2009.

Mrs Mmegwa has served as Senior Consultant and Strategy Advisor with the Ghana Agricultural Sector Investment Programme (GASIP) an initiative of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Government of Ghana.

She holds a degree in Industrial Chemistry, professional qualifications as Chartered Accountant in both Nigeria and Canada, a Master’s degree in Strategy and Corporate Governance.

DARIYE, NYAME PARDON IN LINE WITH CONSTITUTION, WILL NOT DERAIL ANTI-CORRUPTION WAR BY PRESIDENT BUHARI

The Presidency wishes to throw light on the recent note presented to the Council of State, on the report of the Presidential Advisory Committee on the Prerogative of Mercy, PACPM as a culmination of a process begun by the convicts and others concerned in line with the Constitution.

Section 175 (1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999(as amended) enjoins the President to exercise his constitutional powers “to grant any person concerned with or convicted of any offence created by an Act of the National Assembly a pardon, either free or subject to lawful conditions; to grant respite, either for an indefinite or a specified period of the execution of any punishment imposed on that person for such an offence; substitute a less severe form of punishment imposed on that person for such an offence or remit the whole or any part of any punishment imposed on the person for such an offence or of penalty or forfeiture otherwise due to the state on account of such an offence.”

The Federal Government constituted the PACPM on August 28th, 2018 with the mandate of assisting the President in the discharge of his constitutional responsibility of granting pardon/clemency to convicts or ex-convicts in deserving cases.

The Committee filed its first report in March 2020 and reconvened on Thursday, 28 September 2021 to attend to the myriad of pending applications for presidential pardon and clemency from Nigerians across the country.

All those fools who are against president Buhari for pardoning Dariye Nyame are claiming as if they are all saints from the day 1 of their life till now. Nobody is perfect only God is perfect and God said we should forgive one another So I see nothing wrong in Buhari pardoning Dariye Nyame.

Even the so called Buharist have been making mockery of Buhari simply because he pardon Dariye Nyame. I always say this And I will continue to say it, By their fruits we shall know them. President Buhari can pardon whosoever he wants to pardon and no fool can do or say anything they will only rant like a hopeless mad dog in the streets. Buhari came under the purpose of fighting corruption which he has been doing it perfectly well. So for him to pardon anybody doesn't gives anyone right to express their foolishness, if you want to express your foolishness go to ur village and start running naked to express your foolishness.

For Buhari to pardon Dariye Nyame and 157 others he has done well, this is not the first time Buhari pardon's somebody But this one is giving hopeless fools sleepless nights.
