The movie is great. You have to account for the fact that it was made far back when horror movies where far and few in between.

Books usually come out better than the movies
Nooo the movie was very forgettable for me. I was hyped for it but it turned out disappointing. Will not see again.

The shining

6/10

So I was reading the book, I was at the last chapters when I came to the thread and happened upon the horror movies discussion which piqued my interest in seeing a horror flick; being aware that the book had an adaptation I decided to see it. I read some positive reviews about the movie and even discovered it was dubbed one of the best horror movies but boy I was in for some disappointment. The movie does not come close to the book and the book wasn't all that great but it was miles better than the movie.
I found the movie to be decent and a let down at the same time, the only part I really enjoyed (SPOILERS AHEAD) was when the kid lured the monster into the hedge maze, ran to a certain distance, retraced his steps and got rid of his tracks to where he hid thereby getting rid of the monster by trapping it in the maze.

They should have stayed faithful to the book.

Can't wait for the DCEU Cyborg movie. DC's most important superhero. Guaranteed to surpass Endgame for opening weekend receipts. LMFAO!
cyborg that people say looks like a broken toy? Please take it easy with the sarcasm... Even the actor who shall be cajoled into taking the near career ending task won't step his foot inside a theater to see the movie.

Octopussy was somehow right, I agree, and she's right on the actress that was used not the actor. There was a major uproar because she's half-Indian and Princess Jasmine was of Arabic ancestry in the novel. They got that totally wrong.

Yes, Hollywood are guilty of that, and even when they use the same race, they ignore the actors from that continent. For example, I feel it's a travesty casting Whittaker as the voodoo priest in Black Panther when we have African actors resident in Africa that would've pulled off that role better than Whittaker. Pete Edochie would've been a better option. But they don't trust African-based actors. It's disrespectful. That's the same way that Arabs lashed out against Aladdin because Disney neglected Arabian actors and actresses based in Asia for their European based ones.
Then we have spoken alike my friend. Take my compliments.

this is marvel first failure since 2015 and first in the X men franchise,i cannot say the same for DC who have been failing for years.
I couldn't help it but laugh at their silliness, it seems this Marvel failure means more to them than any success DC could scratch out of their anus.

DC c0c.k heads are getting multiple orgasms over this one failure forgetting that DC have now become synonymous with failure themselves.

It's really annoying. Same way they cast Scarlett Johansen in the role of Major in 'Ghost in the Shell.' I knew something was off about it, until someone told me here that it's a Japanese anime with Japanese characters.

I wonder why critics keep allowing them go scot-free with this rubbish.
Trust me they got their fair share of backlash for that stunt.

You're the one that's wrong. Google the actor and actress, they both have Asian or Arabian ancestry.
Check out their looks man, in the movie. They could have cast pure Asian and Arabic acts for the roles (although taking a good look at the actor one can see that he does look Arabic), that would have been better. o.pussy was somehow right, Hollywood are guilty of taking a prominent characters of a certain race and changing them into something western. See what they did with gods of Egypt.

Hollywood has Europeanised a middle eastern character. Aladdin is an Arab man, not European. The Princess also looks Spanish/Mexican instead of Arab/Asian.

Smh.

When the movie came out it was 2500 naira to watch, plus transport o. The movie would have been extremely painful to watch and no get value for your money.
Please do you know any exceptional movie directed by a woman? Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman were both directed by women and look how they turned out...
Try lost in translation. It was directed by Sophia Coppola, she is the daughter of the man who directed the godfather

Who recommended Ghost in the Shell? I don't know which was more discomfiting- watching Scarlett Johansen crashing through tempered glass and kicking ass, butt _naked or the very stale and cliche storyline.

6/10 biko angry
That's what they get for casting an American in a movie based on a Japanese Anime undecided

Captain Marvel:- 5/10

I have seen all Marvel movies from phase 1 to phase 3 but this is by far the most underwhelming after black panther.
I expected more, I was expecting to be thrilled just like other Marvel hero stand alone movies like Iron man, Captain America. But this is just disappointing.
You nailed it.

The last time i watched a series was in 2014 or so. Boondocks, Season 1 and 2
Funny you'd mention that. I also abandoned watching TV series around that year, I haven't finished the originals as at the time of this post, tried picking up breaking bad but left it for no good reason (I'm planning to start watching again). Watched parts of money heist, basically the beginning and the end.

The only series I'm currently invested in is this game of thrones which set the standards so high for me that I didn't think any other series would be able to match it only for it to be turning out to be a real let down heading to it's finale.

Surprisingly, he's a man or so we thought because of his morphology. The shim is suffering from PTSD, a mental health condition resorted from the abuse he suffered as a teen.
This traumatic event changed his gender-orientation and his antecedents here is just a tad-bit sign of what's left of his masculine hormones.
It's a pity though, those of us who are very familiar with him do not in anyway take him serious, we actually join hands to to help the shim and send our solicitude to an outright pathetic failed male-creature.

To say he's 3years away from his 50s and he's still on the internet dishonouring his generation and still opens wide his arse-hole offline to be plummeted by long fleshy rods is a very terrible thing and needs to be worried about by sane human beings.

Just ignore him, he'll wane out in his ingrained stupidity.
