Bruh, i watched this movie when i was still little and it haunted me for days. i'm afraid to even watch it now lol. @bold is hilarious tho
I didn't find it horrifying one bit just like the shining, but they are both good movies, it's just that they couldn't deliver on the horror.

Yeah that line cracked me up plus the tone with which it was said. I felt like the girl was possessed by a clown. cheesy

The Exorcist 6/10

Another over hyped horror movie angry I started this movie with apprehension but when I was finished, I felt like I just watched a comedy. The flick was funnier than it was scary, no terrifying moment at all. Not a bad movie, would have rated more if it wasn't termed "the best" horror movie of all time.

My favourite line: let Jesus fvck you, let him fvck you, you dumb bitch! grin

Who will nominate the Faceless Man?

Ayes and Nays.

Let's count...

I would submit The Memoirs of the Faceless Man or the Mile High Club or The Mercenary.
They need essay not story.

Taxi Driver 8.5/10

Nothing beats the classics. This movies might seem slow and boring to the average person, but what it does is captivate you and take you on a ride through quality craftsmanship and leaves you marvelling at the brilliance of everyone involved. With a unique story and dedicated performance from the cast and crew, taxi driver deserves it's place as a remarkable picture.

9/10

This must be the most underrated comedy series ever.

This is like the third time I'm rewatching it and everything is still very funny and entertaining and the moral lessons are very pragmatic.

Lolz, none taken. So a 7.5 is very high? and besides i rarely/don't comment on the TV series thread so how come your assumption that the series i see are wacky or are you mistaken me for someone else??
As regards movie ratings, most folks here rate movies subjectively, no one rates movies based on what it is, rather rating are done here based on how i feel & what it ought to be. No offence, even you yourself, you ain't particularly innocent of the wacky taste syndrome in movie & tv shows, so whats the fuss about mine & why the metaphoric comparison of me to a 10 year old.
No offence, but most times, you're very condescending with your comments, that's why you hardly see eye to eye with most folks here, honestly, its not a good thing. learn to let go most times its not gonna diminish your worth, there's a saying that when a man cooks for the public, they'll finish the food but when the public cooks for one man, he can never finish the food. I simply said something was average & gave my express reason why i said so, it not something that should have gotten you inflamed or rankled, you should've at least checked it out for yourself, there's this saying that a traveler is wiser than an old man, at least, I've traversed lots of DC series to know what am talking about.
I respect you a lot, but our people say that, ọ bụrụ na okenye ahapụ nkwanye ùgwù ya, ụmụaka ga-akparị ya, and also onye Emetụla agu aka na ọdụ du ya ma ọ dị ndụ ọ nwụọ ,so please am begging. Am very sorry for mentioning you in the first place, i should have just expressed my opinion without mentioning anybody, once again, my unalloyed apologizes are in place.
The guy can come off as obnoxious sometimes.

I told you to leave koice alone with his whole soyinka diction. But no, you defenestrated my position like garbage
Stop showing off just say threw out the window undecided

Trust me if we run his statement by a grammatically experienced person, he would be considered wrong to use the word lucidity in that statement, since he meant sanity he should have gone ahead and used that word or any of the other closely related synonyms. Using lucidity is just outrageous, is like he ran the word "sanity" by a thesaurus and picked the word which sounded more obfuscating than the others in other to appear cocksure to the rest of us.

Lemme ask you, what's the closest synonym to lucidity?
That would be clarity or transparency. In the context of your post you shouldn't have used that word.

No offense, but you have a wacky taste in movies and tv shows alike. There have been several times I wondered at the lucidity of your ratings. I mean, you rated a blatant cinematic disaster kenned as Glass very highly for crying out loud. So forgive me if I'm not marginally perturbed by your opinion. Forgive me if I sound condescending, but often times, I'd wondered if a 10 year old is behind your username. Your ratings are appalling... no offense, of course.
Are you sure that's the word you should use Mr thesaurus?

X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

I’m flummoxed that with the incipient Disney buyout and this being the finale to Fox’s X-Men, they didn’t put this movie into the hands of someone with more experience. It’s limpidly obvious Kinberg hasn’t directed a movie of this scale and magnitude before.

Overall, I’m not sure what else to verbally express about this except that it’s genuinely hallow and unavailingly futile. The script is awful, and while the cast endeavored their best, they couldn't save this one.

5/10
See how you let that little compliment get into your head, because that one fellow was intrigued by your knowledge of the word pellucid, you decided to flabbergast the rest of us with your familiarity of synonyms.

Beorn:
I remember watching the movie after KoiceReloaded_ suggested it to me and ended up terribly disappointed. Despite its high rating on RT and MC, the movie was so boring I gave it either 3 or 4/10 rating. The Shinning still remains the most boring horror movie I've ever watched, though I acknowledged the fact that if I'd watched in my childhood days, I'd have rated it high and probably enjoyed it. Too bad I watched it as an adult.

I used to think I was too harsh with my rating as Koice pointed out, until I watched Ready Player One and in the movie, one of the clues revealed that The Shinning was the novel whose movie adaptation the writer (Stephen King) hated. So, I guess if the writer of the novel felt disappointed with the movie adaption, anyone that feels that way will probably be right as well. cheesy
I swear there was nothing horrifying about the movie, I was being very gracious with my rating.

You must be kidneying me. The Shining wasn't all that great ke?! huh That book is one of Stephen King's best books.

Take the words of a super fan who has read almost all his books, and when I say it is one of his best, it means there are others he wrote which weren't all that great. But the Shining? That is one of his unmatchable masterpieces.
It's one of his best books, yes, but I would still argue that it wasn't "all that great" because I can't count the number of times I put it down to do something else that wasn't even important to me. It was a passive read (took me almost two weeks to finish) but I must confess that his prose and vocabularies and very engaging.
Can you give me your own ranking of his top five novels? Preferably in the horror genre.
