Family / Re: My Wife Nags A Lot by LotusFan: 9:54am On Jan 13, 2018
Billyonaire:

OP, you are writing bullshitt,

Your wife nags because you do not listen. Are you a bachelor ? When you choose to marry, you made a decision to share your bullshiit with someone else's bullshiit and find a way to make cookies out of it in the midst of erotic sex and romance and woe betide you that the sex is not good, then your days are numbered.

Your wife is your best friend and she is making correcting you a part of her responsibility in life. It is not supposed to be so, because you must dress for occasions based on the country of your birth. Are you American ? Didnt you know you married a conservatively religious perfectionist ?

You wanted a 'good' woman and you got one. In her mind goes this statement. 'Why must you wear a pair of jeans and white T-shirt to a Church, that is not how Christians should dress, wear a pair of nice and well ironed shirt with a nice pair of pants if you do not have a suit.'

So, Learn to listen to that woman, you are no longer a bachelor so you can not do as you please.

You must listen to your wife and your wife must listen to you no matter how inconvenient and let me warn you, except you marry a slowpoke, then you must face corrections from a wise woman. No man has gone wrong listening to a wife that is smart and corrects her husband.

Your wife nags because you do not listen.

Pay attention to your wife and your lovers if you have others and your life will be wonderfully blessed by the Gods.

Good advice!

... But who else noticed Billyonaire actually nagging in this response? grin grin grin

LoJ:

What do you mean by advocating?

I am not saying everybody should watch porn. I am simply saying, there is nothing wrong with porn. Though I dont watch it, there is nothing wrong with porn. Just as there is nothing wrong with alcohol, though I dont drink it.

Again, there is a difference between the american porn industry (which you seem to incorrectly consider the only porn industry in the world) and Porn.

LoJ:

As far as I am concerned, I dont watch porn, and I am not advocating for porn. I am simply defending a truth, for people usually mistake their religious upbringing for morality.

Dear LoJ, you clearly stated “There is nothing wrong with porn or masturbation.” This statement leads me to believe that indeed, you are advocating in favour of porn and by extension the porn industry as a whole.
Romance / Re: My Experience With Porn And Masturbation by LotusFan: 7:36am On Jan 11, 2018
One major issue people seem to overlook when they indulge in porn is the fact that their viewership is helping to sustain an industry that ruins lives.

Most porn stars are drug addicted and encouraged to stay that way. There have been various documentaries which have highlighted the manner in which the actors are continuously exploited.

Many of us will boycott businesses because we feel they have the wrong values but when it comes to porn many turn a blind eye.

Let’s try to take a look at the bigger picture.

Religion / Re: Was Apostle Paul Married? by LotusFan: 6:35pm On Jan 05, 2018
Sarassin:

Paul never married. As the story goes according to the Nazoreans, Paul arrived from Tarsus, a place where Jewish people hardly lived, he became friends with the High Priest of the Sanhedrin willing to do their dirty work, he also wanted to marry the daughter of the High Priest without his permission. Paul converted to Judaism and underwent a circumcision as an adult in order to convince the girl to marry him, the girl declined, unfortunately the delicate surgery was a botched job.

Anyhow we are told that the chief priest got wind of Paul’s intention towards his daughter and wanted to teach him a lesson for being such an upstart, Paul fled town in hot pursuit by the High Priests henchmen, along the way, Paul saw the light or heard a voice or maybe both, no one really knows for sure but the rest is history. Now, if only the girl had said Yes cheesy

Hello LOJ. The urge or longing to be in tune, to gain connection with GOD, is hardwired in every soul and cannot be shaken off. A soul ( Spirit to be more precise) wanders in the creations of GOD driven by the inherent urge to gain connection with his/her Creator. There is no joy, happiness or inner peace until a Spirit or Soul connects/reconnects to the source of Life that is GOD. What you refer as "Completeness" will come about when a Spirit has found GOD and willingly lives in the sense of the Laws of GOD. Then the Spirit is in tune with the emanations that comes from LIFE (GOD). In reciprocity, these emanations out of GOD will nourish the Soul, permitting it to transform the latent GOD-given talents into abilities. The soul is now born again and can now begin the journey to ascend to the luminous kingdom of GOD which people refer to as heaven. Billions of experiences will cross the path of such a wanderer bring him or her knowledge and recognition of the the manifestations of the will of GOD in different planes of existence. Then, at a point in this journey, the soul will come to the realization of the highest recognition and that is, GOD is the living LOVE. All that emanates from such a soul is Love of GOD and love for all creations of GOD. Such a soul is now "Complete". A soul that is "Complete" spreads the love of GOD to all to all other beings in the wonderful creations of GOD, bringing radiant joy, happiness, healing and peace. Stay blessed.

Wow!!! Such a long time...where have you been? I was just talking about you last night, or was it the night before?

Oh, cool, great even.
You just reminded me one of the reasons I dropped my bible for at least 2 years.

Most of these people we so admire did not have canons and sets of rules to guide them or become a basis for thought conformity.

Their limitations were only as far as their mind could carry them.

DaveP, you're my good pal, else I would tell you straight up that I do not enjoy biblical debates...
Like say,, but Matthew 3 v 5 says you must not jump a story building, and I say, oh, but Leventicus chapter 6 v 8 says you can jump if it's just 2 stories high.

Honestly speaking, it's so tiring.
Truly, it is.

There was a time I used to feel bad that I did not read my bible daily. There were times I fought so hard to pray and fast in certain ways...

I just do not live by those rules anymore.

I know it makes me a misfit and outcast among religious folks, and it is not my intention to offend the sensibilities of you, my friend when I say this, but I simply do not care about that anymore.

smiley I so know where you’re coming from...sigh...

Jesus (if he existed) at least the one in the bible has been so misconstrued by the churches and it seems to me that their work basically is to destroy his work.

All true spiritual leaders avoid making people dependent on them. They elevate you, they show you your God, they point out your path to you, they make you 'democratise' the voice of God. I find it disturbing that Adeboye and other 'men of God' stands to minister to thousands upon thousands of God's children. Is that how a father communicates with his children? No. This is what I think is happening: Adeboye has found his God, has recognised the voice of his God but instead of him to point others to their own God, to make them hear and obey their own God so that church becomes a place for fellowship not preaching, he keeps people dependent on his own God. And in this way the churches have centralised God. The churches have become the powers Jesus fought to free men from because for Christ the dignity of every man as a man stands above law, above institutions, above governments, above regulations and ceremonies, above the authority of other men. That is why jesus could stand on his authority and say 'you have heard it said to you an eye for an eye BUT I SAY TO YOU...
We too must stand on our own authority and speak, we must rely on the power of our own words. Only this way will men find freedom.

Used to be a Christian too but dropped it off. The bolded expresses just how I look at this word of God thing. Consciousness, living and ever flowing is the word of God not the dead letters of a book. Those words in a book was God's word for David, for Paul, for John. It came to them fresh. I do not read that Abraham read a bible or Moses too. So also every man must hear God for himself. I too carry the word of my own God within. God's word to me is my consciousness. Once I am dead it ends. That's why it's called the living word of God.

Nice perspective, thanks for sharing smiley

Taking deep breaths and speaking loudly works for Jesus too

I've just remembered so many episodes, whilst growing up, of my Mum and every one else close by joining in, calling out my name whilst I am watching TV in the living room
Unbeknownst to me, my Mum and the others, have been shouting at the top of their voices trying to get my attention
but because I was so engrossed in enjoying whatever programe I am watching on the TV at the time
I didnt have a scooby doo idea, they all, literally have been screaming their heads off at me, to get my attention
It usually, only is, when I've momentarily looked away from the TV, that I become aware that Mum and others, have all along for a very good couple of minutes been trying to get through to me
This was a regular happening thing between them and I then

Maybe when people look away from what's occupying them and turn to face Jesus,
then they'll realise that, Jesus, all along had been speaking loudly
but they werent in the frame of mind to notice and become aware He all along has been this

OMG It’s not good to jump to conclusions. I read your post mid way and just assumed that you were suggesting that Jesus was the one watching TV and we should all join voices and scream louder to get his attention. ***covers face***

It’s been 2000 years bro. 50 generations of Christians including the first converts of the apostles thought Jesus would return within their lifetimes and were disappointed. It is presumptuous to believe that he will return in your lifetime. Jesus is as likely to return as any other dead person.

A bird in hand (real life) is worth more than a story about two thousand birds in the bush (eternal life).

Ouch! that was cold!
