Breaking News:

The Omani pilot, during his interrogation, revealed that he had planned to crash the plane into Ben Gurion Airport.

Therefore, he attacked the pilot above Jordan near the border with Israel.

He had planned to approach for landing as usual and, in the final seconds, when it would be impossible to intercept him, to crash the plane into the terminal.

Only thanks to the fateful decision of the injured Indian pilot to open the door at all costs was the plot averted.

One prominent Nairalander has been championing the idea that Isreal planned everything. Then someone pointed out to him that the plane landed in Saudi Arabia, the country that is the custodian of his religion.

Maybe out of anger that Saudi Arabia is not supporting his narrative, he has been posting anti Saudi news all day. That guy (with at least 3 different accounts here) is irredeemable.
Normally I don't usually reply such rumours because common sense would reveal the truth.

However I've come to realize that some are still sitting on the fence and would surprisingly believe such cooked conspiracy.

And also for our younger ones coming up who are seeking for truth.

The silent majority may overlook the clownish post and lies from these despicable lots, but it silently registers in the mind of upcoming youths and those sitting on the fence.

Hence the need for the silent majority to act in any little way possible to spread the truth.

The Omani pilot asked the Indian pilot if he could leave his seat to pray and after being granted permission, he attacked the Captain with the axe from behind.

This is actually a great metaphor for the west.

When the plumber and cabin crew pushed the door from the cabin side, they were physically pushing the door into the cockpit, meaning they had to carefully nudge against the space where the captain was lying to gain full entry.

💥💥 THE ‘CONSPIRACY’ DESTROYER - THE TRANSPONDER LOGS 💥💣🔥

The Official Transponder Log Timeline (30 Sept 2026): Recorded second-by-second microsecond timestamps.

03:05 UTC: Flight FZ1073 departs Dubai on its regularly scheduled route to Tel Aviv, climbing smoothly to a cruising altitude of 34,000 feet.

05:21 UTC: The cockpit attack begins. The automated tracking data logs the Boeing 737 MAX 8 undergoing violent altitude oscillations—uncontrolled diving, a sharp ascent, and a second steep plunge down to 15,000 feet within a two-minute window.

05:28:48 UTC: SQUAWK 7700 ACTIVATED. The transponder automatically broadcasts code 7700 along the Saudi-Jordanian border, alerting global radar stations to a critical general emergency.

05:35:00 UTC: SQUAWK 7500 ACTIVATED. The code explicitly flips to 7500—the internationally standardised code for "Unlawful Interference / Hijacking". This occurs the exact microsecond the bleeding captain manages to reach the console controls during the struggle.

05:40 UTC: The aircraft loops away from Jordanian airspace and heads southwest toward Saudi Arabia as the off-duty deadheading crew takes structural control of the flight sticks.

06:58 UTC: The plane switches back to code 7700 for airport priority and lands safely under emergency conditions at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Airport in Tabuk.

The tracking codes accurately broadcast the panic inside that cockpit to regional radar centers in real-time, which is why air traffic control immediately cleared the plane for an emergency landing in Tabuk. The radar metrics are fully on public record.

Aviation transponder logs completely destroy any "false flag" or "staged" conspiracy theory because a transponder doesn't just broadcast information into an empty void, it actively communicates with an entire web of global defense networks, foreign governments, and civilian tracking infrastructure simultaneously.
The tracking logs are an undeniable, automated web of international defense and civilian metrics.

To claim anything was faked is to claim three separate military networks and thousands of private citizens were coordinated to stage a radio signal.
In short, real-time aviation tracking data doesn't care about conspiritard feelings or narratives

* The Fictional "Secret Meeting": There was no secret meeting to plot a fake hijacking. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did travel to the UAE, but investigative reporting by outlets like Haaretz confirmed the meeting was a political push regarding regional tensions with Iran and managing political damage over leaks ahead of the upcoming election. The idea that a prime minister would fly to a foreign nation to coordinate the stabbing of an Indian pilot by an Omani national on a commercial aircraft is a total fairytale.

* The Nosedive Myth: The plane did not go into a vertical, structural "nosedive" that would rip the wings off. It was a chaotic, high-speed altitude drop during a manual struggle over the flight sticks, which the aircraft's aerodynamic limits are built to withstand.

* The "Plummeting Tin Can" Physics Failure: The passengers weren't casually strolling. The aircraft did experience a sudden, terrifying altitude drop when the attacker grabbed the controls, plunging thousands of feet in less than a minute. However, an emergency descent creates high G-forces and immense chaos, not zero gravity. Passengers (including an off-duty plumber and dentist) frantically lunged forward, crawled, and pushed their way through the released door to put the attacker in a chokehold.

* The Election Context: While Israel's Knesset elections are indeed taking place on October 27 and the political climate is highly volatile, using a real political date to claim a mid-air terrorist attack over Saudi Arabia was a staged performance is a classic logical fallacy.

* The Tracking Codes: The plane never 'vanished' from tracking. Radar data explicitly logged the cockpit transponder switching from emergency code 7700 to hijack code 7500 during the struggle. That's why Saudi air traffic control immediately cleared the plane to drop altitude and land at the nearest runway in Tabuk.

THE WATER CUP

* The Sealed Cup Self-Own: Flydubai, Emirates, and most international airlines serve individual water in pre-packaged, heat-sealed plastic tubs. The cup literally has a clear plastic lid on it. It couldn't spill or splash during a descent even if it wanted to because it’s airtight.

* The Fluid Mechanics Fail: Even if it were open, the passenger video was filmed after the backup pilots regained control, leveled the plane, and stabilised the flight path. Liquid doesn't stay permanently sloshing and swirling in a cup forever just because a vehicle dropped altitude minutes prior. Gravity settles it back down the millisecond the forces equalise.

THE COCKPIT DOOR OPENING DIRECTION

The Physics of Flight: Cockpit Doors Open INWARD

On the Boeing 737 (including the MAX 8 involved in the Flydubai incident), the reinforced security flight deck door is mechanically hinged to open inward, swinging forward into the cockpit itself, not backward into the passenger cabin.

Why They Are Engineered That Way: If the main passenger cabin experiences a sudden drop in air pressure (depressurisation), the massive pressure differential will push the cockpit door forward. Because it opens inward, it can swing forward onto its decompression panels to instantly equalise the air pressure between both compartments, protecting the plane's structural integrity. If it opened into the cabin, it would get jammed shut by the pressure.

Forced Entry Protection: It makes it significantly harder for an attacker in the passenger cabin to force their way in. Pushing against a door that slams shut into a solid, reinforced metal frame is much more secure than a door that could be pulled open or kicked down into the aisle.

The Physical Block Explained: Because the door physically swings forward into the cockpit, the wounded captain (who was sitting or lying on the flight deck floor right next to the pedestal console) was physically occupying the exact space the door needed to swing into.

DEBUNKING THE ‘FLYDUBAI’ CONSPIRITARDS 🤡 1 of 3

1. "How did he get a weapon onboard?"

The Fact: He didn't sneak a knife past security. The official UAE investigation report confirmed the co-pilot used the cockpit’s own crash axe. By international law, a crash axe is a mandatory piece of emergency equipment standard-stored inside the cockpit. He simply reached over and grabbed the plane's own tool to launch the attack.

2. "Why did a plumber take control and not the 2 pilots?"

The Fact: This is completely scrambling the timeline. When the bleeding captain unlocked the door, passengers rushed in to wrestle the attacker. Passenger Yaniv Hayoun (the plumber) saw the plane diving, lunged forward, and pulled back on the yoke to level the aircraft based on what he'd seen on Air Crash Investigation. The two deadheading reserve pilots in the cabin then immediately entered the flight deck, assumed formal control of the instruments, and safely navigated the aircraft to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.

3. "How did the Capt open the door while being stabbed?"

The Fact: He didn't casually stand up and twist a mechanical doorknob. Captain Smit Machchhar explicitly stated in his interview that he was on the floor bleeding when he realised the plane was plunging. Knowing lives were at stake, he gathered his strength for one final push to hit the electronic door override release switch right next to the seat console, unlocking it so the cabin crew and passengers could rush in.

4. "Where are the oxygen masks?"

The Fact: This is an embarrassing failure of basic systems knowledge. Emergency oxygen masks are triggered strictly by cabin barometric pressure, not by pitch, dives, or sudden altitude drops. Because the fuselage was perfectly intact, the cabin never lost air density or pressure. The aircraft computer had absolutely zero mechanical reason to deploy the masks.

5. "Why was he speaking English to Bibi / in bloody clothes?"

The Fact: The plumber, Yaniv Hayoun, is an Israeli citizen. When Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called him to thank him for saving the flight, they spoke in Hebrew, not English. As for the blood-soaked shirt, he spent hours being interviewed by Saudi security and medical teams at Tabuk Airport immediately after landing. He was a passenger in transit who had just wrestled a bleeding attacker in a cockpit—he didn’t have a fresh change of clothes packed in his carry-on bag.

6. “Why were all the screens off?”

The Fact: Flydubai is a low-cost carrier. A massive portion of their economy cabins don't even feature seatback entertainment screens, or they are entirely deactivated behind a corporate paywall unless a passenger pays to unlock them. Even on aircraft with screens, when a commercial plane undergoes a violent, uncommanded 14,000-foot altitude plunge, the aircraft's automated electrical computers instantly initiate load-shedding. The plane immediately cuts power to all non-essential luxury systems (like passenger TVs, galley ovens, and seat outlets) to ensure 100% of the electrical grid is dedicated strictly to the cockpit displays, flight instruments, and backup hydraulic pumps keeping the plane from breaking apart.

OTHER DEBUNKED FALLACIES

* The 'Unbreakable' Door: Nobody broke it down. The official investigation logs prove that the hero captain, Smit Machchhar, manually hit the electronic cockpit override switch to unlock the door from the inside so passengers could rush in and save his life.

* The 'Spare Pilots' Fail: Off-duty flight crew traveling as passengers is a daily industry routine called 'deadheading.' Repositioning reserve crews to major hubs like Tel Aviv happens every single day. They didn't stage a fight; they stepped in to land the plane after regular passengers restrained the attacker.

The American Influencer Who Became a Chinese Internet Sensation

An American influencer became an unlikely internet celebrity in China by doing something most foreigners struggle to do: he appeared to understand Chinese culture from the inside.

He spoke fluent Mandarin, wore traditional Chinese clothing, used a Chinese name, discussed Chinese culture online and openly presented himself as someone who loved China. His popularity, however, eventually became inseparable from a much more controversial part of his online persona: his alleged sexual relationships with large numbers of Chinese women.

The controversy surrounding him raises uncomfortable questions about attraction, race, nationality, social media, privilege and what researchers have described as sexual capital.

From foreigner to internet personality

The influencer, commonly identified online as Jackson and associated with the Chinese name Wang Shenyu, built an audience partly through his ability to navigate Chinese society.

Unlike the stereotypical foreigner struggling with basic Mandarin, he presented himself as deeply immersed in the language and culture. He appeared comfortable wearing hanfu, discussing Chinese traditions and interacting with Chinese people.

That identity became part of his appeal.

According to accounts circulating online, his dating strategy often began innocently enough: meeting women, practising Chinese with them, going for food and building rapport. Some encounters allegedly progressed to private meetings at his apartment, where he would supposedly teach calligraphy or continue conversations.
The allegations become considerably darker after that point.

Several women reportedly accused him of treating relationships as disposable encounters. Some alleged that after having sex, they were effectively pushed out of his life. Others claimed that he had removed or blocked them from social media.
The most serious accusations involved contraception and pregnancy.

The stealthing allegation

One of the most serious allegations concerned stealthing: secretly removing a condom during sex without the other person's consent.
The issue is particularly complicated because laws surrounding stealthing differ between jurisdictions, and legal recognition does not necessarily match the seriousness with which victims describe the experience.
In this case, the allegation became part of a much wider online backlash.

Critics argued that whatever someone's nationality or dating preferences, removing contraception without consent fundamentally changes the conditions under which sexual consent was given.

Other allegations involved pregnancies.

Some women reportedly claimed they became pregnant after encounters with him and were subsequently blocked or pressured to deal with the consequences themselves. There were also allegations that he encouraged or pressured women towards abortion.
These claims are serious, but they should be treated as allegations rather than established facts unless independently verified through reliable evidence.

Why Chinese men became angry

The controversy did not remain a private dating scandal.
It became a much larger cultural argument.

Chinese men online reacted angrily to the idea that a foreign man could arrive in China, attract women and seemingly operate according to rules that they believed would not be available to Chinese men.

That anger was connected to broader debates about dating, marriage, wealth and China's changing gender expectations.

Some critics argued that foreign men could benefit from novelty and perceived status. Others saw the situation as another example of Western men receiving social advantages simply because they were foreign.

But the backlash also produced another uncomfortable development: criticism directed at the women themselves.

Some online commenters accused Chinese women of preferring foreigners or treating Western men as inherently more attractive. Others argued that the women were making their own choices and should not automatically be portrayed as victims simply because the relationships later became controversial.

That distinction matters.

Not every woman involved necessarily understood her relationship in the same way, and not every sexual encounter described online should automatically be interpreted through one narrative.
The idea of “sexual capital”
The controversy becomes more interesting when viewed through the concept of sexual capital.

Sociologist James Farrer has written extensively about sexuality and relationships involving foreigners in China. The broader idea is that attractiveness is not determined only by physical appearance.

Nationality, language ability, money, confidence, social status, cultural knowledge and perceived uniqueness can all influence how someone is viewed in a dating environment.

A foreigner who speaks fluent Mandarin and appears deeply connected to Chinese culture can therefore possess a combination of characteristics that makes him stand out.

This may help explain the phenomenon behind the familiar internet joke:
Someone who is “average” at home can become exceptionally desirable somewhere else.

The underlying point is not that Chinese women universally prefer foreigners. It is that attraction is socially constructed and can change dramatically depending on environment.

Why his image mattered

The influencer's greatest asset may not have been his appearance at all.

It was the persona.

He did not simply present himself as an American living in China. He appeared to embrace Chinese identity and culture. That distinction could make interactions feel different from the standard foreigner-local dynamic.

For an audience, it also created a compelling character: the American who seemed more enthusiastic about China than many Americans.

That persona generated attention, and attention itself became valuable.
The more people watched his content, the more unusual his lifestyle appeared. The more unusual it appeared, the more people wanted to know about him.
Eventually, the boundary between private dating life and public performance became difficult to separate.

Some commentators have therefore questioned whether certain encounters were deliberately turned into content or used to strengthen his online image.
Again, claims about staged encounters should be treated cautiously unless supported by evidence.

The Fudan controversy

Another part of his public biography involved Fudan University.
Online descriptions sometimes portrayed him as a Fudan student or graduate student. Reports later suggested that this description was misleading: rather than being a conventional degree student, he had reportedly participated in a non-degree language or training programme.

That distinction may sound minor, but it illustrates how internet personalities can gradually acquire biographies that become more impressive as they are repeated.

A foreigner who speaks excellent Chinese, wears Chinese clothing and is associated with a prestigious university can quickly develop an image that carries considerable social credibility.
Online, perception can become reality simply through repetition.

Then the attention changed

As criticism intensified, parts of his online presence reportedly disappeared or became private.
That shift added another layer to the controversy.

What had initially looked like the story of an unusually successful foreign influencer in China became a debate about consent, privilege, cultural stereotypes, gender relations and the economics of online attention.

The story also demonstrates why viral personalities should not be judged solely by the image they construct for an audience.

Behind the videos and photographs are real people, real relationships and, in the most serious allegations, potentially serious consequences.

At the same time, those allegations need to be distinguished from verified facts.

The bigger question

The most interesting part of this controversy is ultimately not how many women the influencer allegedly slept with.

It is why his particular combination of identity, nationality, language, appearance and online persona appeared to generate so much attention in the first place.

His story illustrates how attraction can be shaped by environment and social perception. Being foreign can make someone novel. Speaking the local language can make that person appear more accessible. Demonstrating cultural knowledge can create credibility. Social media can then amplify all of it.

But the same system that creates celebrity can also magnify allegations, distort reputations and turn complicated relationships into simplified internet narratives.

The controversy surrounding this influencer therefore sits at the intersection of sex, culture, race, nationality and social media.

And perhaps that is why the story became so much bigger than one man's dating life.

It became a debate about what happens when foreignness itself becomes part of someone's appeal — and when that appeal is transformed into an online brand.

Romance › Here's Why Girls Should Be Thankful To Agberos by lovediehatelive(op): 8:53pm On Sep 19
Let's face it, the bane of women's existence is attention.

A lady would go extreme lengths just to get attention and when she doesn't get it she begins doubting herself.

Attention makes her feel validated, and even when married they still crave for attention like a single lady would do.

Now the rate at which men woos or calls out to a lady on the street has greatly reduced.

These days a guy would see a lady he fancies but for one reason or the other, be it shyness or fear of being humiliated, or so much going on in his head he won't call her out or approach her.

But the Agberos at parks, bus conductors and others which ladies don't usually fancy and not their typical type of dream man don't care, they always call you out.

It doesn't matter if you are beautiful or not, provided you are a woman they'll always make you feel special by throwing attention at you.

Hey fine girl come na.

I dey call you, you dey waka abi

Come make I tell you something

My wife

I go marry you o

Sometimes they get angry when you don't answer them or at least smile or greet them, and verbally lash out at you if not physically grabbing your arms or so in public.

Now this is very wrong, grabbing a girl on the street without her consent.

But that's not the purpose of this thread.

Since the 'reasonable ones' the 'church guys ' or their type of guys have reduced calling them out in public, the only way their attention could be massaged is when these rough guys without shame calls them out.

In such cases it's 'harassment' because he's not her type.

If it's her type of guy it's 'compliment'

Well, ladies should be thankful because if not for these Agberos they won't be getting the much attention they crave.

They are met with this cultural shock that no guy stops them or call them out and they start doubting themselves looking in the mirror checking if they're alright.

nlfpmod I think you should make a follow up thread and push to front page because the version on the front page didn't provide updates and follow ups.

The lady has made a video sharing her side of the story, the guy has dropped update countering her claims.

It would be proper for all to hear from both sides

JimD:
The girl's father is definitely not in the picture. Single mothers and their messiness.
The story is deeper than what you think.

I believe it's highly spiritual.

They are highly religious, so nothing of that wayward angle.

Her Dad died few days before the traditional wedding and it was still held.

When they fixed church wedding his dad died, few days to it too, and it was called off.

Now they fixed the church wedding again but the girl's family asked it should be postponed just about a week to the day.

He had to call it off a day to the day.

The girl came out to make a video about the issue with her own side of the story.

The guy countered back against some of the points she raised.

I created a thread about it with their responses and counter claims hearing from both sides.

I wish them well and suggest they should take a deep spiritual approach to know exactly what's going on spiritually because to me it doesn't seem ordinary.

Here's the thread I made

From latest development the story seems more complicated because she has dropped her own side of the story.

And from what she says it's not because of material things, the guy isn't carrying her along on some major issues like announcing the cancellation on social media.

And she lost her dad at first but they still went ahead with probably the traditional wedding or introduction.

The first time they fixed the wedding the uncle was around but after the guy lost his dad they had to cancel it.

And the uncle is like a father figure since she lost her dad.

So I won't say she's materialistic, I would say it's a matter of miscommunication and possibly it's something spiritual more than we can understand.

Some would say it's a sign that they both should not be together, others would say their coming together is destined and they would be great that's why forces of evil are trying to stop them.
In all,
I wish them well.
holashayo:
This is serious. Many things are happening in this world.
That shows that the bride cherish material things more than her own father that she would postpone her own wedding because of gift or some one that may want to attend.
And the wedding for postponed twice for that matter. I don't think they really know what they are doing in both families.

So because of sent forth gifts, you cancelled your wedding. Who does that, so if tomorrow the so called Uncle decide not to attend or return for the wedding you will still reschedule it.
I'm still in shock.

The lady hasn't revealed the real reason for this.

Or it could be her family, maybe they're looking for excuses, who knows if they promise her one abroad based guy

From what she said there have been communication gap because her husband to be didn't inform her about the cancellation before posting it on social media and some other stuff.

Here's points from what she said in her video:
They met in scripture union

He asked her friend about her.

She sees him as a Christian brother and accepted him.

They fixed a date for traditional marriage.

Unfortunately, 4 days to traditional marriage she lost her dad.

But they continued with the traditional marriage.

He lost his dad before the wedding which was supposed to hold April 6.

He cancelled the wedding without informing her or her family .

She heard about it from someone, a third party.

She forgave him without coming to social media and say he cancelled wedding without informing her family.

They fixed another date 19 September, but when they informed her uncle he asked that they postpone it to December.

She informed her husband to be about it but he was furious , not taking any postponement of wedding.

And cancelled it without informing her.

1bunne4lif:
So, I used to be the very shy type from my primary and secondary school days.
Girls usually intimidate me a lot back because they knew I was shy.
To an extent that one of class mate in SS1 would always want me to accompany her to wee, if I refuse, she'll threaten to announce it to the rest of the class. With no option left, I'll continue doing her biding.
The one that finally made me break loose was a girl named Ogechi. When I transferred from Bayelsa where I was schooling to the village, I happened to be brilliant, above almost all my new classmates. After answering questions consecutively, Ogechi began to call me her husband. She will always say; Dimooo, Dimooo, Meaning; my husband, my husband. Considering my diminutive nature then, each time I sight this girl, I'll run away. This continued till I left primary school.
Coincidentally she got admitted into the FEDPONEK during my IT. One fateful day. I happened to see her at Umuerim junction roasting corn, by then I've really grown huge and taller than her. Immediately, I approached her saying; see my wife oooo. She became shy and from that day forward, I ceased being shy in front of any woman

Health › Re: How True Is The Cure Of Glaucoma Using Bitter Kola by lovediehatelive(m): 3:33pm On Sep 12
Godwritten:
Alright, God is the healer of all kinds of health issues and I trust He will heal your mother.

There's this ayurvedic prescription I got from an Indian man who had Glaucoma and was scheduled for an operation, but out of fear he consulted ayurvedic practitioner who advised him not to go for an operation because it would worsen it.

He said the ayurvedic doctor advised him that his eye pressure(mmHg) would correct by gradually dropping to normal with time. This medication is about strengthening and healing of the weak optical nerves that help reduce the pressure on the eyes.

He followed the prescription according to the ayurvedic doctor and saw wonderful improvement that made him cancel going for the operation.

Though I don't have Glaucoma, but I have applied it to improve my eye sight and have seen results. You need to have patience because it is a gradual healing process.

What you do is this: Go to hospital and get the eye pressure (mmHg) of your mum. This will help you monitor the progress as you go for check-up everything 3 months.

Key ingredients:
White Onions
Original Honey(very important)
Ginger
Lemon
Aloe vera

Method:
1.Wash and Grind small part of white Onions, squeeze out the juice in a container ( plate, cup etc)
2.Wash, peel and Grind small part of Ginger, squeeze out the juice in a container separately
3 . Squeeze little lemon juice in a separate container.
4. Squeeze little Aloe vera juice in a separate container. Prepare and FILTER each juice with precision CLEANLINESS. NO PARTICULES.
5. Get a syringe. Remove the needle.

Mixture:
Use the syringe to measure one drop EACH of honey, onion, ginger, aloe vera and lemon juices and mix them together thoroughly.

Application:
You can use the syringe to drop the mixture ONE Drop on each eye ( 3 times a week).Like Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday. If you have eye drop container, wash it thoroughly before use.

Note: Don't close your eyes when you apply the eye drop medication.

Caution: This medication is peppery but within few seconds, it will subside and stop.

Addition; Each morning, at sunset(early morning rising Sun), gaze directly at the sun for 5 minutes. Your eyes will strengthen as they absorb minerals from the Sun.

After 3 months, go for check-up, you will see great improvement.

Thank you.
This is strong and exponential!!!

Very powerful.

Since they say glaucoma is a disease that affects nerves of the eyes, this really makes sense because it's pure natural mixture that wipes out infection.
Health › Breakthrough!!! First Man To Be Cured Of Sickle Cell (in Louisiana) by lovediehatelive(op): 8:06pm On Sep 11
Great!!! I love this type of news! First man to be cured of Sickle cell (in Louisiana)

I just hope one day the cure would be readily available and easy that this won't be a major issue in healthcare.

A New Orleans man is on track to live his dream of becoming a pilot, thanks to a breakthrough treatment. Twenty-three-year-old Daniel Cressy is the first person in Louisiana to be functionally cured of sickle cell disease.

Daniel is the first patient in his region to be functionally cured of sickle cell disease, raising an important question: what does this groundbreaking treatment mean for the thousands of others in the state living with the same diagnosis?

Daniel says he found out about gene therapy through his pursuit of aviation. For the 23-year-old, the dream of becoming a pilot would lead him down an unexpected path to a cure. The answer was gene therapy.

Sickle cell disease has been part of Daniel's life since childhood. He describes the pain as feeling like a rubber band wrapped around a part of his body, such as his leg, but extremely tight and pulsating in and out. And there is nothing you can do about it.

That pain is caused by the way sickle cell disease changes the body's red blood cells. Dr. Ben Watkins with Manning Family Children's Hospital and Tulane University School of Medicine helped treat Daniel.

When someone has the mutation that causes sickle cell disease, stress can cause the red blood cells to collapse. Instead of remaining nice and round, they become sickle-shaped or crescent-shaped. The problem is that red blood cells are responsible for delivering oxygen to muscles and tissues, while sickled cells can become stuck in very small blood vessels.

For Daniel, gene therapy offered something different: a way to change the course of his disease.

Doctors can genetically modify the stem cells so that the resulting red blood cells stay nice and round and do not collapse under stress.

But getting to that treatment was a long road.

From essentially January 2024 until March 2026, Daniel was in the process of getting gene therapy. It was a long journey. The biggest hurdle was insurance. Once that was finally resolved, there were a lot of stem cell collections and transfusions.

And even after the wait, the hardest part was still ahead.

Once the patient is ready for the infusion, they have to go through intense chemotherapy and are admitted to the hospital. Doctors have to eliminate the patient's own stem cells that are making the sickle cells and then replace them with the new cells.

Today, Dr. Watkins calls Daniel's result a functional cure.

They use the term "functional cure" because the treatment genetically modifies the cells responsible for producing red blood cells so that they do not sickle. However, it does not eliminate the underlying mutation that causes sickle cell disease.

For Daniel, the change is not just something doctors can measure. He can feel it.

Since receiving gene therapy, Daniel says his life has been non-stop and great. He describes feeling a sense of euphoria and says he told himself that after receiving the therapy, he would not be sad.

Daniel is the first patient in Louisiana to receive this gene therapy and be declared functionally cured of the complications of sickle cell disease.

In June 2026, Daniel rang the ceremonial bell at the hospital, marking the end of his treatment journey.

He says it feels great to go down in history as the first person to receive this therapy. It means a lot to him, and he is thankful and considers it a privilege.

Many of the people standing with Daniel have been part of his story since he was a child. They have seen the pain, the treatments, and now the turning point.

But the treatment was never the end of Daniel's dream.

Asked whether he still plans to pursue becoming a pilot, Daniel says yes. That process is already underway.

The FAA needed his medical records, and Daniel provided them. Regarding his sickle cell disease and gene therapy, the FAA contacted him and told him that everything was fine and that everything looked good.

The process is still ongoing, but Daniel says his dream is right there, within reach.

For the people who have supported him, seeing Daniel on the other side, with his dream of becoming a pilot getting closer to reality, is something special to watch. They have seen the changes in him as that dream hopefully becomes a reality.

Now, Daniel is ready to see just how far he can fly.

Education › Your Certificate Could Be Your Village People (here's Why) by lovediehatelive(op): 11:37pm On Sep 06
You see this thing called degree or certificate? E fit hold person down pass spiritual attack.

I spoke with one of my friends few years back, a brilliant guy. He finished at Futo with a 2:1. But after school, no job came immediately, so he waited, searched, prayed and nothing happened.

Instead of changing strategy, guess what he did? He went back to school for a master's degree. Why? Because his mother was supporting him. She just wanted to see her son add more certificates.

He finished his master's. Still couldn't find a decent job. Now, the mother is no more. And guess what? He is still broke and now looking for someone to sponsor his PhD.

I had to ask him, "why are you letting degrees hold you hostage? Why are you still reading outdated theories while real-world problems are crying for solutions?"

What exactly are you looking for at the top of that academic ladder? He started crying but crying wont solve the matter.

Listen to me oohh, degrees are not bad because I have one already. But they are not the guarantee of success.

The world today is not looking for how many certificates you have. It's looking for what problems you can solve. The value and skill you carry inside of you.

Many companies are not hiring your CV, they are hiring your value, your skillsets. And if your value no fit solve their problems, dey go ghost you, PhD or not.

I think we need to stop our younger ones from worshipping degrees like they are gods. Every young person is running to enter university without identifying the skill he is going to refine.

Degrees are only useful when combined with real-life, income-producing, problem-solving skills.

What will shock you is that the boy who learnt how to sell phones or sow clothes is now paying rent for the guy who is doing his PhD in Peace and Conflict Resolution.

Let me say it clearly: Your degree might actually be holding you back and not your village people, It's not that school is bad, but because you have been made to believe that school alone is enough.

It's not.

I pray we begin to raise a new generation of thinkers, doers, builders, and problem solvers, and STOP mass producing certificate holders who are job seekers forever.

In Nigeria, we are not short of certificates holders, we are short of creators, problem solvers and business builders.

There're two very close friends of mine doing almaco.

They're so good at it and deliver timely and professionally.

I have personal close relationship with both, and we 3 are really close.

Now there's a building project ongoing and I don't know how to handle it in terms of which of them to contact for the job.

The job is small and I don't know how to go about.

Do I contact both?

Or pick just one, or run it underground choose someone else (they'll eventually get to find out if I pick someone outside)

What do you suggest I do to handle this situation?
