Thank you Austinpee4: Having a dual intent is legitimate. However, you MUST meet the requirements of each application as well as their categories. Since a requirement of the temporary resident visa category(Study permit) is to satisfy an officer that you would leave Canada at the end of your study irrespective of an existing application for a PR, you must meet it and convince an officer.
Unfortunately, a lot of applicants are not able to do this because they most often can't prove enough home ties to compel return at the end of their study. With a PR application at the same time and with no strong convictions to satisfy an officer that they would leave Canada after their temporary residence, it becomes more evident that the applicant main purpose is immigration on both path.
If you have very strong reasons evidentially and convincingly to satisfy the officer that you would likely leave Canada after your study even though your PR application is ongoing, you are good. It will NOT be refused as both applications are not dependent on each other. The onus is on you to satisfy the officer based on the stipulations of issuance of a study permit and meeting all requirements. If you don't, the officer will enforce the provisions of the law against your application and intent. |

Hello Guys.
I already have an existing Express Entry profile i.e in Express Entry Pool, if I apply for a Study Permit, is it likely to be rejected because of the existing EE profile or Dual intent is possible??
Thanks for your responses |

Good day Gurus in the house.
If one is accepted in Express Entry Pool and Job Bank, would it affect the approval of the Study Permit Visa?
Thanks |

Good morning all. Do you think embassies especially Canada confirms ones Account balance from your bank to know if you have funds for your Study Permit and your stay in Canada? Or they just confirm if the statement was printed by the bank that's all without having your bank balance information? |

Thank you Moley22: To the best of my knowledge, Paying tuition is dependent on some factors. If you are/were given a conditional acceptance letter, you would be required to meet some conditions before getting a full acceptance letter(unconditional offer letter) which you can use to proceed to apply for your study permit like paying a certain fee to secure space in your department. Embassy requires you to meet these conditions too. Also be sure if your school accepts full tuition but will give a refund if things don’t turn out well, it’s your decision to make. It’s an advantage paying a full year fee as this will show commitment and receipts can be attached to your application. NB same information I’ve gained here! Goodluck sir/ma!! |

Please I need answers or advice;
Late last year I was denied Visit Visa to Canada, and a lawyer in Canada has requested for my file from Canada Immigration since August 2017 until now no response. Do you think it would hinder my Study Permit application and not get approved if the file is not released to know the reason I was denied earlier?
NOTE: I was sent a checked list of reasons that I was denied, but the lawyer insists that it's generalised that only your file can pin-point the specific reasons
Thanks |

Still awaiting advice o, my people loveson: Hello House,
Please I need advice...
I have read different comments here but none has really addressed the issue of whether to pay the University's tuition deposit to get the Letter of Acceptance in order to process Study Permit or to pay 1 year tuition. Which would you advice I do? Would not paying the 1 year tuition affect the approval of my study permit?
Please help! |

Hello House,
Please I need input and advice urgently;
Late last year, we (me and wife) were denied Canadian Visit Visa because of lack of travel history and purpose of travel. And now, we have traveled to the US, UK, Dubai. In August 2017, a friend in Canada requested for the Visa Officer's notes on my behalf to know the reasons we were denied in the first place, but no response from CIC up till now. And I am about to start the process of my Study Visa to Canada and school resumes in May 2018, would I be denied again because of this?
Thanks |

Good day my learned colleagues in this forum. I need advice; I received admission to University of Tasmania without scholarship, but they are asking me to nominate an agent even after they issued me admission letter, and to pay deposit. So my question is: 1) Is it necessary to appoint an agent again? 2) Any advice on the best approach or way forward?
Thanks |

Good day people. Is it advisable to apply for Australian Study Visa with your Wife included? Also, would both of us be allowed to work while I'm schooling? |

Thanks for the advice. What about the 2nd question? God bless DereI: I'd rather you spend N68,000 on Ielts and send result to the school after 13days than spend N864,000 to study English language (which you have studied your whole life). Its not worth it |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by loveson(m): 8:51am On Aug 22, 2017 |
Thanks VeecThorr: My advice is to take TOEFL/IELTS. Depending on the type of program you're pursuing. You'll only spend a fraction of the fee for the one the University is organizing if you take one of the aforementioned standardized tests. |

Hello Guys. I need help please - I have received admission offer from a Canadian University, I would like to pursue it but they are asking me to study English Language in the University first for 3 months before formal academic session starts which would cost about CAD$3,000. 1) Do you think it's wise to spend that much to do English there? 2) I have not been working for about 8 months now because our project was successfully completed, waiting for another one, but until then, how would this impact on the visa process, or there a way around it?
Cheers |
