Happy Sunday guys, and happy new month. Love they say is actually beautiful when you have a good partner. Love is not all about having sex everyday. I am going to tell you guys the 14 Romantic Things to do that Don't Involve Sex. Here we go. When romance is often mentioned, many think it is all about sex. But romance is actually anything you do to your partner that communicate and show that him/her is special to you. Here are a few examples. 1. Calling your partner a special name that you wouldn’t call any other person such “Honey”, “Sweetheart” 2. Cooking together. This activity actually gives you two a chance to bond closer 3. Going out on dates to intimate places (not clubs) where you can look into each other’s eyes and have heart to heart conversations 4. Pulling up her seat or holding her hand when she climbs up a stair case. Even though she can do this on her own, this makes her feel like you are mindful of her 5. Singing love songs together. This warms the heart 6. Covering each other in prayer. The most romantic thing is taking care of each other’s spirit 7. Holding each other’s hand as you walk. 8. Going out for walks, picnics and plays 9. If you have children, planning dates just for you two as you make plans for someone to take care of the kids. Children tend to kill romance if you are not deliberate about maintaining the fire 10. Talking on the phone till late about heart matters if you two are far from each other. If all you talk about till late is sex then you are missing out on depth 11. Writing each other love letters. Yes, there is something special about reading each other’s handwriting in this digital age. Leave a note for your partner on the pillow or post a letter if your partner is far away 12. Making him a warm drink as he works or going to see him with packed lunch. This shows that you have him in mind 13. Sending a parcel. There is something special about opening up a physical gift from the one you love 14. Praising each other publicly, whether in front of your friends, on social media or in social gatherings. But do this only when you love your partner well in private, otherwise it is just pretense Drop your own on the comment section below. About 500 lawyers stormed the Court of Appeal in Abuja on Thursday, condemning what they describe as the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) unwarranted attack on the integrity of the Nigerian judiciary. The lawyers, led by Sylvanus Okpe, Convener of the Lawyers of Conscience group, expressed their collective dismay over what they termed a “campaign of calumny” against the justices of the Court of Appeal. Okpe asserted that the actions of the PDP amount to an assault on the judiciary itself, citing a barrage of sponsored criticisms directed at the recent judgment of the Court of Appeal in Plateau State. Addressing the media, Okpe stated the organisation’s dedication to upholding the rule of law and democracy in Nigeria, urging the justices to consider the implications of the PDP’s actions on the court’s reputation and integrity. “While it is succinct to state that the Justices of the Court of Appeal delivered a sound judgment in line with the provisions of the law, the diatribe perpetuated by the PDP smacks of mockery and an attempt to ridicule the judiciary,” Okpe declared. He further said that the PDP had allegedly breached a subsisting court order in a specific suit. Pointing out the potential consequences according to the Electoral Act, Okpe argued that such a violation could render the elections of PDP candidates in the National Assembly null and void for lacking party structure, drawing a parallel with the Supreme Court’s nullification of APC candidates’ elections in Zamfara State in 2019. Okpe accused the PDP of sacrificing facts in a self-serving quest and launching a serial campaign of calumny against the rulings of the Court of Appeal. He asserted that the party’s ultimate goal appeared to be discrediting the judiciary’s impartiality in Nigeria. “The reputation and integrity of the appellate court are at stake. The issues canvassed by the PDP lack merit and substance, and as such, the judiciary must not succumb to blackmail to ensure that justice is served.” He said. The lawyers called on the justices to stand firm in defence of the sanctity of the appellate court, urging a rejection of the PDP’s position regarding the outcome of the judgment that sacked members of the party in the National Assembly for alleged lack of party structure. They emphasized the importance of an independent, strong, respected, and respectable judiciary for the impartial administration of justice in a democratic state. “Lessons must be learned on the implications of flouting court orders. Contempt of court is an affront to the authority and dignity of the court. A court order must be obeyed until it is set aside on appeal. There is no evidence that the subsisting court order in the conduct of fresh ward congress for the PDP in Plateau state was appealed. “His Lordship may wish to grant our prayers that the Court of Appeal rejects the position of the PDP in Plateau State with regards to the outcome of the judgement of the Court of Appeal sacking PDP members of the National Assembly for lack of party structure that rendered their eligibility to stand for election null and void,” he declared. https://.ng/2023/11/17/500-lawyers-protest-at-appeal-court-over-plateau-pdps-comment-on-judiciary/

Ahead of Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Imo State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says its candidate, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, is not deterred but set for victory. It said this was despite a malicious fake video allegedly produced and circulated by Governor Hope Uzodinma and the All Progressives Congress (APC) against him. The party urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to disqualify Uzodinma. The Party said it is barbaric and shameful that the APC candidate, Uzodinma, descended so low to allegedly sponsor a fake video against the Party’s candidate to mislead the Imo people. This was contained in a statement issued on Friday by Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the PDP National Publicity Secretary. According to the PDP, the fake video confirmed that Uzodinma was in mortal fear of the popularity of the PDP candidate and had to resort to last-minute underhand methods in a failed attempt to get him out of the way. The statement further claimed that Uzodinma had demonstrated that he was not ready to contest in a peaceful, free, fair and transparent election. “The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) asserts that its candidate in the Saturday, November 11, 2023, governorship election in Imo State, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, is not deterred but set for victory despite the malicious fake video reportedly produced and circulated by Governor Hope Uzodinma and the All Progressives Congress (APC) against him. “The PDP describes as barbaric and shameful that the APC candidate, Governor Hope Uzodinma could descend so low to allegedly sponsor a fake video against the PDP candidate in a bid to mislead the people of Imo State. “The fake video, typical of ‘419’ inclination, only goes to confirm that Governor Uzodinma is in mortal fear of the popularity of the PDP candidate, Senator Anyanwu and had to resort to last-minute underhand method in a failed attempt to get Senator Anyanwu out of the way. “The PDP restates that our candidate, Senator Anyanwu, is very much in the governorship race. The people of Imo should disregard the said video, as it is completely FALSE. “If there is anybody that should withdraw from the race, it is Governor Uzodinma, who has amply demonstrated that he is not ready to contest in a peaceful, free, fair and transparent election. “The PDP calls on INEC to disqualify the APC and Governor Uzodimma as their reported involvement in producing and circulating the fake video constitutes a gross violation of the provisions of the Electoral Act, 2022, the Nigerian Criminal Code and Cyber Crime Law. https://.ng/2023/11/10/imo-guber-pdp-demands-gov-uzodinmas-disqualification/

The House of Representatives Committee on the Federal Capital Territory has urged the Minister, Nyesom Wike, to prioritise the security of lives and property in the nation’s capital. This is just as the Committee called on him to channel his energy, experience, and network into enhancing revenue generation to support the infrastructural development of the FCT. Muktar Betara, the Chairman of the House Committee on FCT, made these recommendations during the inaugural meeting of the panel in Abuja. While urging members to dedicate their time and energy to the realisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, the lawmaker noted that the committee could not afford to fail FCT natives and residents in the task entrusted to them. He listed the oversight role of the committee to cover the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and its agencies including the Abuja Geographical Information System (AGIS); the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA); Abuja Metropolitan Management Authority; Abuja Investment Company Ltd; FCT Mass Housing Department; FCT Pension Board, among others. He also added planning and development of the FCT, secondary and tertiary education, public transport system and annual budget estimate of the FCTA as part of the Committee’s oversight responsibilities. He said, “Abuja is losing revenue but this Committee will support the Minister to ensure that he gets more revenue for the development of infrastructure in the FCT. “The Minister has assured us that he will make Abuja work and generate more revenue. Most of the estates in Abuja don’t have title documents but the Minister has promised to look into this. With the right commitment, documents can be concluded within 14 days.” The lawmaker urged the FCT authorities to take a cue from Vehicle Inspection Officers who before the expiration of vehicular particulars often send notifications to car owners for renewal. For those who own undeveloped landed property, Batera urged them to quickly pay ground rent without delay. Also speaking, a member of the Committee and lawmaker representing Bida/Gbako/Katcha Federal Constituency,Niger State, Saidu Abdullahi said a lot of work must be done to return the past glory of the nation’s capital. “The potential of FCT shows that there is still much to be done. I worked closely with the Abuja Investment Company (AIC) and we saw in the 9th Assembly left much to be desired. AIC couldn’t even mobilize resources to build a market in Abuja. The Committee is ready to work with you and together, we can make Abuja rise again. Making a case for the less privileged members of the society, member representing Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency, Regina Akume pleaded with the FCTA to slow down on the demolition of illegal structures within the city, saying, “With the removal of subsidy, people are in pain. They don’t have food to eat. The demolition going on is something we need to look at. This demolition should either be stopped or slowed down.” Responding on behalf of Wike, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of FCT, Adesola Olusade thanked the Committee for their commitment to assist in the development of the Capital Territory. He also enjoined them to work assiduously on bills pending before them concerning the development and decongestion of the city capital. On Mrs Akume’s plea, he said, “It is motherly advice, and we thank you. But some of these shanties have become dens of drugs and criminals. The ills and dangers of these shanties far outweigh the benefits.” https://.ng/2023/11/09/prioritize-security-revenue-generation-in-fct-house-committee-tasks-wike/

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has refuted a report that it failed to remit $15 billion in oil revenues accrued to the Federation’s account. The Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL, Olufemi Soneye, made this statement in response to the 2021 report by the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI). The 2021 NEITI report had alleged that NNPCL failed to remit $15 billion to the federation account, leading to a lawsuit by the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for failing to probe the missing fund. NNPCL clarified that, as of May 31, 2023, the subsidy bill had risen to N3.736 trillion. The company also stated that the receivables due from the Federation to NNPC Exploration & Production Limited (NEPL) as of May 31, 2023, amounted to $712 million (equivalent to N309.07 billion at N434.08/US$1) for revenues that were not remitted to NEPL but paid into the Federation account. “The receivables due from the Federation to NNPC Exploration & Production Limited (NEPL) as of 31st May 2023 amount to $712 million (equivalent to N309.07 billion at N434.08/US$1) for revenues not remitted to NEPL but paid into the Federation account. “While the Federation owed NNPC Ltd. the sum of N4.207 trillion as net indebtedness, the Company was only indebted to the Federation in the sum of N2.852 trillion, made up mainly of outstanding Good and Valuable Consideration (GVC) in respect of government upstream divestments, royalties, and Petroleum Profit taxes (PPT). “Concerning gas-to-power debts, the non-payment of NNPC Ltd.’s share of upstream joint venture gas supplied to the government-owned plants led to the accumulation of indebtedness of N174.07 billion by the Federation. However, NNPCL failed to give details on the N200 billion budgeted to repair the refineries in Nigeria that are missing and unaccounted for between 2020 and 2021, as contained in the NEITI’s report. Meanwhile, the company said it would collaborate with NEITI and all relevant stakeholders in the Reconciliation Committee set up by President Tinubu to investigate, review and reconcile the financial records. https://.ng/2023/11/07/nnpcl-dismisses-report-of-failure-to-remit-15bn-oil-revenue-to-federation-account/

Students at Adamawa State Polytechnic went wild on Monday over the alleged theft of private parts from six male students. Witnesses claimed that two strangers visited the polytechnic and shook hands with the students, after which the private parts of the affected students reportedly shrank to the size of a matchstick. The witnesses stated that other students quickly gathered, intending to confront the strangers and possibly have them reverse whatever they had done. However, security agents prevented the students from taking matters into their own hands. According to a source, “The students became violent because the police and polytechnic authorities prevented them from lynching the suspected private part thieves.” The students blocked Galadima Aminu Way in Jimeta, a major road along which the polytechnic’s main campus is located. It took a frantic effort from security personnel, including the military, police, and civil defense, to restore order. The polytechnic’s spokesperson, Albert Matilah, confirmed that the incident occurred in the morning hours. He explained, “We woke up to this unfortunate situation: There have been rumors that criminals who specialize in snatching private parts of individuals were in town.
