Hi,

Also a QS.

Congrats @ bolded. What does the assessment for the CEC status entail? Did being MNIQS, PMP & having foreign experience contribute to your transition?
It looks more like the experience was the main criteria even though I am not quite certain. It reinforces the fact that your local experience still matters just package it well.

So no one is actually kind enough to help me with answers to my questions, i want to believe they're actually busy.
pls cc: blackbuddy, salford1, maternal, thecongo, epp a brother. Cheers
Hi bro. I am also says q.s and I hope to move by end of Sept. What I know is that you need to do an assessment with CIQS of which I have done that. I have about 7years plus experience and MNIQS and pMp certified. I was conferred with a Construction Estimator Certified status which is higher than associate member, hence I don't need a bridging programme. I just need to submit case study based on 4past projects, interview then I get PQS. They gave me a short route. I hope to do volunteer work get my Canadian experience while hoping they retain me or I get job elsewhere with the experience. I hope to go to school later after I have understood the market. This is what I have done for now and the information I have at hand. I am still open to any info that is useful.
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by ltee: 7:19am On Aug 16, 2017
Thanks for the support bro, the prep is going well.

I am currently working on packaging and repacking my resume and cover letter and started sending to test the market. Obviously I still need to do alot of work in this area.

I have also registered with CIQS for assessment so I can enrol for a bridging programme by the time I land. Similarly my wife has registered with NDEB.

We also attended the planning for Canada orientation and trying to follow the MAP.

Ita alot of work but this is where we are now.

Thank you.

All protocols duly observed.

My cic account was updated to approved today, obviously it looks like I am coming to the end of a journey which was birthed about this same time last year. I am grateful to God and every member on this forum for your support, contributions and love. You guys are the bomb!

I would be writing details of my progress from the beginning till date just to encourage somebody out there not to despair but persevere through this tough cic process.

COPR....

I am sure this would encourage someone on this waka as I had my fair share of challenges. Wrote ielts twice to hit 467 cos the points where pretty high back then. I also applied as self employed hence my tax and financial statements had to be up to date. This cost money, but in the end I am thanking God.

So to the guys at AOR, Med passed, IP1/2, PPR congratulations to you, may God see us all to the end. More importantly, to the guys who have had one challenge or the other, keep pressing, check, re-check and re-fire your documents to cic, your canny dreams is just around the corner.

Thank you all.

Please does any one know if someone can evaluate their degree (in Dentistry) with IQAS, just for evaluation to meet the EE requirements and not necessarily to practice in Canada. Pls any kind advice or suggestion is welcome.
Well I did WES for my wife who is a dentist and it was evaluated as masters or profession licence. Anyone else with IQAS experience can share please..

Not sure where the jobs are but I understand there are jobs.
Consider joining Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (www.ciqs.org).
You can start an application now while still in Nigeria. They will assess you and determine which level you are on route to their professional certifications - this should come in handy in Canada. Your PMP is also very good for project management jobs.
Join job boards and make contacts on linkedin too. Its surely easier to get a job while in Canada.
Thank you for the advice.

Hello to my seniors and everyone on the group.

I am currently awaiting Copr and I need advise on landing especially getting a job.

I am a quantity surveyor usually known as construction estimator in Canada, about 8years work experience on various projects and PMP certified.

Please what are my chances of getting a job?
Where do you propose I can get good construction jobs?
I would also like to network with people in this field and perhaps join a whatsapp group for people landing.

Secondly, my wife is a dentist she also needs a mentor in her field too.

Thank you as you drop in you precious advise.

If you are physically resident in West Africa, Accra is the Visa Office that handles visa issuance for the region. London VO handles visa issuance for those applicants whose files were re-routed there due to the workload at Accra. Could it be you were/are resident in Canada which may be why your file was treated there? If you have received passport request, the email should indicate which Visa office will issue your visa.
I am based in naija and the email did not state categorically where to send it to.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by ltee: 3:40pm On Jun 29, 2017
Congrats to does who just received ITA's and Med passed wishing you all great results including does about getting into the pool.

Please seniors I have a question concerning sending passport, they did not mention Ghana in the email, but from past threads I see it has been Ghana. Please confirm this is in order even though my application was treated in Ottawa.

@Baisy,

That is misrepresentation and grounds for a 5 year Ban. It is not worth it, Patience is the name of the game for Canadian PR, If i were you, i would reject the ITA and wait for my ECA to come in. Point 3 means you will likely need an FBI PCC, Looking at trends, that might take you 2- 3 months to get. Once you get your ITA, your 90 days count down begin so you need to get your docs ready. Your Reference letter can be have the heading To Whom it may concern and have your Co Founder to sign on this. I am sure i have seen a couple of samples on this thread. search and you'll find.

All the best!
My contribution is for qtn 3. Since you are a co founder you are considered self employed. Hence you need references from clients, invoices showing pymts, CaC registration docs, tax clearance etc. You can check requirements for self employed persons.
