Change your spark plugs, your air filter and service your fuel injector nozzles [hope I got that right]. Mine was a fuel guzzler before, but as soon as I carried out the aforementioned, the fuel economy improved drastically. For engine oil, I use Total Quartz 9000, which is a 5w40 oil and Total coolant [the one sold for N350 for 1 ltr. Color of fluid: green]. I have not carried out any changes on the brake fluid and automatic transmission, so can't really give you a brand, but you can discuss with NISSPARTS, he will guide you right.

If we take into consideration our current dollar malaise, China would have been a good alternative given the exchange rate of N30 to one yen [abi na yuan].

Even Japan, in the same link above, has 29 refineries! Can we do business with Asia ASAP pls? angry

Total Quartz 9000 graded SAE 5w40 is what I use although I intend to try Autologic's Full synthetic 5w30 Lubex 7 litres. You can contact him @ 08061166316 and he can deliver to your doorstep.

Leather vs fabric. Which is better? This is a matter of personal preference.

I will choose leather over fabric, every time. All my cars have leather interiors, even my old Toyota Hilux that came with fabric seats, I tore them out, and threw in a pair of leather sport seats from a 2004 Toyota Celica T Sport. I can't remember when last I owned a fabric-upholstered car.

I would ONLY buy a car with fabric seats, if it was insanely cheap. And I would buy it with a view to swap in leather ASAP.

Leather is definitely easier to maintain, compared to fabric. Have you seen a fabric seat, after a child threw up on it? Or smelt the interior of a fabric-upholstered car, after a milkshake, or even plain milk was spilt on one of the fabric seats? The stench, as the milk is absorbed is bad enough to total a car, the only solution is to junk the offending seat, and replace. Leather? Dirt and spills simply wipe off.

The average Nigeria by nature is lazy, going by their maintenance culture when it comes to an automobile. They see nurturing leather as hard work, citing the Nigerian hot weather as an excuse to avoid leather. Like Texas, lots of the southern states in North America, Dubai, Australia etc don't have hotter climate than Nigeria? How many high-spec cars used in these areas have fabric seats?

Lol. If you like fabric, that's fine. But citing the above sorry excuses as reasons to avoid leather? Nah!

Will also look to work on the sun-roof too, but other than the aforementioned issues, I seriously love this ride.

Good morning, Fam. So I have changed my spark plugs, air filter and also serviced my injector nuzzles. The CES light which has been blinking non-stop since purchase has vanished without trace. I will be keeping an eye on my fuel usage to see if there are any improvements in MPG.

I will also implement this engine flush as done in this youtube video. I saw the video somewhere in Nairaland [can't remember the thread nor the Nairalander who put it up] and will do this ASAP. Will update the house when done. Let's keep this thread alive, guys. Enjoy your week.

I presently use this car...2001 model. I must say it's a very dependable, reliable and comfortable car. It's very rugged. Had a bad transmission, managed it without changing it for 2 years of everyday use before I finally changed it. Even traveled long distance severally with it in that state.

As per the fuel economy, mine was a bad guzzler until I changed all my spark plugs. Now its born anew. I actually enjoy it's fuel economy now. Can use a half tank for about 7days with ac. Very good ac by the way. In fact, it's presently more fuel efficient than my 2000 accord v6, don't understand why.

The parts are crazy cheap...back shocks,6k, front, 10k a pair. I highly recommend this car.

That is from the Accessibility menu in settings. It is the same as the easytouch app in android. The app enables one to use the home button less often as it has shortcuts for home, back, multitasking, gestures etc. That way, your home button 'lives longer' as the less used (pressed), the better. Here is a screenshot from my Note 3, which has the Easytouch app on the right side of my screen.

The SES light does not mean it is due for servicing, it means the car's computer has detected a fault that needs to be attended to.
A scanner is required to read what that fault is, then repair, then the light goes off.

24k for foglights? Son of man will not die. Will continue my trekking for a while, pending when I can save enough money in my kolo for that . Meanwhile, will try to come over either this weekend or next for the scanning. I am having issues retrieving my license plate number from the bloke I sold my former car to, which is the reason why I have not driven the car anywhere because I need to be financially prudent nowadays . If you can recall, I am the same person who called you sometime ago regarding Nissan Murano's fuel pump to be fixed in Iponri. I later opted for the QX4 because of the issues arising from that SUV, which the seller wasn't honest about from our initial discussions till I set eyes on the vehicle.

My car is safely parked, thanks for your concern. Will discuss the issue of that your aftermarket alarm system and if possible, install same when I come around. Thanks for your response, Oga Nissparts. Really appreciate.
