Jobs/Vacancies / How Can I Get A Good Cook For My Vacation by luckyme9(f): 12:36am On Jul 29, 2012
Hi my people, I was just wondering how I can find a VERY GOOD cook, to cook for me for just one month. I was hoping for someone who will resume to work every morning or I can provide accommodation for about 30 days. This individual will come up with menu, including snacks, will definitely know how to make some good ass moin-moin. I'm looking for mainly Yoruba food, but I don't mind other varieties, except for Hausa food {no offense}
I'm a good cook myself, but I was just hoping to get a break. What is the process of finding one, do you know someone you can recommend?
Food / Re: Nairaland Dieticians And Nutritionists, please Help Me Get Fat by luckyme9(f): 12:25am On Jul 29, 2012
I feel you my dearest. But let me tell you from experience, in another 10-15 years you would wish you never said this. Skinny body-sexy body,Period.
If you are worried about flat chest, I can understand that, but get yourself some push up bras, you can actually by stuffings (silicone) for your bra, you will slowly increase the size that you buy. I will post you before and after picture of me. I wish I can ever get back to my skinny days. I will pay any price to get back to skinny. I remember 2years after I got marry, my mother will come and yell at me for not gaining wait yet. I drank all the Milo, milk, custard, in the world. i was even taking some pills {muse-got) I cant remember the name very well. But it didn't do anything. If you are ever going to gain weight, when you get to that age, you will wish the other way around.
Food / Re: Can Eating Too Much Pineapple Cause Diabetics by luckyme9(f): 12:09am On Jul 29, 2012
Eating too much pineapple will not cause you to have diabetes. But if you already have diabetes, SURE too much pineapple will shoot your blood sugar level off the roof because the type and the amount of sugar in pineapples is pretty much like chewing on St Louis sugar cubes. Now if the machine kept reading error, and nothing is wrong with machine, that could mean that your sugar level could is above the maximum number the machine can read. For example, most machine that i have worked with will read up to 500mg something-something. Nobody's sugar should be any where close to 500, but Ive seen situation before where its been over that. That is a medical emergency. when its above 500, that's when it will start to show error, a different lab work will be done done to detect the actual number. My worry for you is that, if your blood sugar goes above 500 you need to be in the hospital as this is extremely dangerous "not to scare you". Low blood level will not cause the machine to read error, you would have been dead or in a coma before anybody's sugar level drops below a readable range. By the time your blood sugar drops below 50, you would have known that something is wrong with you. Please be sure to get to the bottom of this because if you truly have diabetes, you shouldn't be eating pineapple like that if at all you would still eat it.

This is my kitchen in Naija, and yes it could be a pain in the butt, because it has to stay clean around the clock for its full effect.
Take a look at the before and after here. But the dirty part is usually late at night when the house help and my kids are already asleep while faaji is still rolling, and with 3 teenage girls in the house, I don't clean anymore, lol
I'm not so worried because it will be back to normal before I wake up the next morning

Tgirl4real: I visited a friend's house recently with a couple of friends. They just moved into their own house.

I got attracted to the style of her kitchen.lol

The kitchen is directly linked to the living room and its designed in an open. Way. Of course, there is heat extractor and other things in place.

Though I love it and wouldn't mind such. But can a typical Nigerian cope with such?
Ok. What happened is that we all ransacked her kitchen teasing her that she lives in a modern house.lol cheesy

Well, her hubby loves it that way too.

Building your house, can u design your kitchen dat way? considering the 'open door' culture we have here.

2. Means the kitchen has to be tidy 24/7

3. Means u have to have enough grubs for ppl like me when we come visiting. grin
Travel / Re: How Long Are Your Holidays To Nigeria On Average? by luckyme9(f): 7:09am On Jun 15, 2012
When it's just me and my husband, 3-4 weeks. When I take the whole family, 6 weeks no more no less. Reason being that the air fare, is sooooooooo much for my family of seven. Plus the first week or two is sweating and adaptation for us, late second week into the third week is when we finally have blended in and settled. Especially with the kids, I intentionally give them time to bond with the culture and stuff. I remember my girls going to the next street to buy soda "minerals" and eva water, carrying them on their heads. They always have fun "so far"
About the time, thank God my husband and I work in the hospital, where we get to take time off, sometimes with or without pay, depending on how much PTO we have. We save all year round to visit home. Thank God we both believe in home sweet home NO PLACE LIKE HOME.

Can you post something that can power at least 3-1.5HP AC, and still carry everything else. Like the 10 bulb, 1 fridge, 1 freezer, 1HP water pump and 1 Iron. Including price please. More so, I'm looking for an automatic transfer.
