CrimePolice Parade Trans-border Robbery Suspects, Armourer by lucom(op): 6:03pm On Nov 13, 2012
The police in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, today paraded six robbery suspects, including Emmanuel Tochukwu Nweke, 31, alleged to be the armourer of the armed bandits who terrorised Lagos on 9 September, 2012 now referred to as ‘Black Sunday.’
Other suspects involved in the attack are Nonso Ndubuisi, 26; Akindele Akinyemi, 30; Emmanuel Ehianeta, a.k.a. Arab, 27; Segun Runsewe, 39 and Isiaka Lawal, 55.
Briefing journalists at the state police command, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, said the alleged armourer was arrested at a hotel in Asaba, Delta State, Southsouth Nigeria, on 7 November, 2012.
Manko said when operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, from Ikeja searched the boot of his Mercedes Benz car with Enugu State registration number BA 307 ENU, two AK47 rifles, 750 rounds of 7.6 live ammunition and 14 AK 47 rifle magazines were found.
The Lagos Police boss explained that Tochukwu was arrested at Asaba alongside Nonso Ndubuisi.
He said four of the suspects who participated actively in the ‘Black Sunday’ robbery attacks were arrested in Benin Republic, where Nonso Ndubuisi was based and was receiving arms and ammunition from Tochukwu.
During their arrest, the four suspects had in their possession 14 AK47 rifles, one general purpose machine gun, GPMG, 111 AK rifle magazine, 5,922 rounds of 7.6 AK47 live ammunition, four GPMP with 400 rounds of live ammunition and 219 unloaded live ammunition and 180 9mm live ammunition.
In their confessional statements to the police, the suspects, according to a source, said apart from the ‘Black Sunday’ robbery, they participated in series of bank robberies in Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Kwara, Ekiti, Edo and Kogi states.
Their alleged armourer, Tochukwu, confessed that one Alhaji Zulo, a Republic of Benin resident, was a major supplier of arms and ammunition to the gang. He said he hid the arms and ammunition in sacks of onions and moved them to Lagos from Cotonou. The suspect also said he sold one AK47 rifle for 300,000 Cefa, while a double barrel gun was sold for 15 Cefa. Manko also told journalists that Tochukwu confessed selling arms and ammunition to other suspects who are still on the run and are being trailed by the police.
He disclosed that investigations into the activities of the suspected robbers was ongoing.

FamilyRe: My Father Just Bloodied My Nose! by lucom: 10:25am On Nov 02, 2012
You are not telling us the truth young man,go and deal with the demon in you first before you come here and call your father names. From what you posted I can deduce(though not entirely) that there's a part of your relationship with him which you are not handling well, come on the old man is not an animal and to have raised you this far you don't have a right to say he's vindictive or whatever and please try to be a MAN. Call yourself to order first and then sit your dad down and have a heart to heart talk with him. It's strange how we all want the world to change without wanting to change ourselves.
FamilyRe: Should Parents Apologise If They Punish Their Children Wrongly by lucom: 5:09pm On Oct 23, 2012
My dad calls it accepting responsibility, he believed it's cowardice not to be able to own up to your errors so he does apologise to me and my brothers whenever he found out or we were able to prove our innocence. A parent who doesn't apologise to his/her child when wrongly punished does either of this two to the child
1.)He/She might end up raising a bitter child, trust me kids don't forget such.
2.)The child might end up an individual without values as such an individual care less about how he has negatively brushed on others especially in relationships.

Don't ever do it if you want your respect intact. For instance the one that happened in my house I simply gave an eviction notice to the guy and the change in attitude was dramatic apparently because I hardly even make any input when their sister is correcting them and to hear me speak in very strong terms sent shock waves down the pack. Now imagine if I had been raising my hand at every instance and by the way what's wrong with giving the guy/girl a dress down speech that he/she won't forget in a long time, issuing threats and carrying them out to the letters common this is 2012 stop beating people.

PoliticsRe: 'Massive Re-construction' Of Enugu/PH Expressway (Pic) by lucom: 2:40pm On Aug 01, 2012
dedeike: Let me press the rewind button so as to put to shame all these shameless hirelings.

finance ministry is carrying out bio metric evaluation of federal civil servants  to reduce waste. The checks revealed the pension scam of over 120 billion. There is the new integrated online payment system which helps the minister monitor transfer of public funds. Our foreign reserves have risen again to 37 billion dollars. There's the proposed Soveriegn Wealth Fund to cater for excess oil sale proceeds.

In Energy, a lot of reforms. The president is keen on transparency and thus has set up probes into the sector viz KPMG AUDIT and AIG IMOUKHEDE. The president sought to close the window of corruption by removing subsidy but the cabal misled Labour into a protest. That notwithstanding, the reforms are still ongoing and the full deregulation of the downstream sector being vigorously pursued. Last week, the FG had concluded the PIB which remains a landmark legislation that will revolutionarize the petroleum  industry. Refineries are undergoing repairs and an American company, VULCAN is to build six more new refineries.

In roads, Zaria-Funtua-Gusau roads, Oshodi-Apapa with expansion and drainage works,  dedicated bridge frm liverpool roundabout to Tin can ports, trailer park, Dualisation  of Ibadan -Ilorin, rehabilitation of ENUGU-Onitsha, completion of OWERRI -Onitsha,    9th mile, ongoing reconstruction of Benin-Ore-Sagamu highway measuring over 265 km, Kano-Maidugri Dualisation. Keffi -Akwanga-Lafia, award of Afikpo-Okigwe, Auchi-Okene being handled by Setraco. Loko-Eweta-Karishi bridge, Kolo-Nembe -Brass  to mention but a few.

In Transport, massive reforms at the ports. Sanitisation and reduction of operating agencies to 7. Introduction of 24 hrs ports operation. Ongoing Construction of light gauge train railways across t4 cardinal point of the federation

In  Aviation, massive reconstruction of major airports in the land, Enugu airport is undergoing total rehabilitation. The domestic wing of Abuja airport is also being reconstructed with expansion of roads and car parks. Same fr the international wing and the kano airports

In Education, establishment of 9 new federal universities in less than 1 year. Constructed 2 new campuses of the Nigerian law schools in Yenagoa and Yola respectively. Launched the Almajiri schools for education of itenerant Islamic pupils in the north wFhich Buhari and other northern leaders abandoned. Increased funding to almost 400 billion to education thereby setting an all time highest record. Reinvigorated the inspectorate oversight of schools leading to the revocation of some licenses from universities. Executed the landmark upgrade of university lecturers retirement age from 65 to 70.

In agriculture, for the first time in our history, we have a clearly defined agricultural policy which is targeted towards maximum utilisation of cassava for growth thru the launch of the cassava bread campaign. The policy is intended to reduce our reliance on imported wheat so as to encourage local production of cassava and it's conversion to flour for bakery. The FG has in less than one year eliminated the middlemen cartel that fed fat on fertiliser distribution at the expense of local farmers. Now through deregulation reforms, fertiliser is now accessible in the open market. he has also embarked on massive construction of silos and has increased import duties on the importation of rice in order to encourage local farmers. The efforts of the minister has been so appreciable that the world bank assisted with over 50 billion Naira for fertiliser redistribution scheme/ silos. The CBN has also set up a 500 billion loan scheme which is to assist farmers.

In power, the NIPP has been revived with the subsequent refurbishment of Afam, Alaoji, Calabar, GEREGU, Omotosho, papalanto power plants. This has led to the addition last December of 4,000 megawatts from barely 1700 to the national grid. To address the problem of distribution,  the 18 successor companies have been slated for privatization.  The media is already awash with news of the proposed privatization next week. The reforms include the review of tariffs in order to ensure a cost reflective tariff that will encourage private sector participation in the building of gas plants. Already, this has started yielding dividends as SPDC has commenced processes towards building a gas plant in IMO state.
Some people called you a liar here and just as I was trying to be objective and read through other comments I saw this. At the bolded, Ibadan to Ilorin road has been completed from Ogbomoso-Fiditi-Ibadan end as far back as 2006 while I was still schooling in Ilorin while the last leg through Eyenkorin and Ilorin axis was close to commpletion. Please in the name of God tell me how this should be listed as an achievement for GEJ, a road that has opened to the public since late 2008. Also the claim "rehabilitation of Onitsha-Enugu road" is a wicked lie that resonates the morbid penchant for deceit that this administration and its irritable defenders are known for. Dedeike you don't need a visa to travel to Enugu just pack and get on the road and see the wickedness that this administration has been using you advertise. YOU ARE A PATHOLOGICAL LIAR

Don't mind that guy even if he chose to lie he could have contacted google or wikipedia, People that have owned or driven a BMW will attest to this no Toyota, Honda,Mitsubishi or Nissan both present and future models will ever be able to stand beside a beamer or Benz in terms of performance and durability if not for fuel economy that has endeared these brands to us. I've owned a 95 5 series before and owned two Toyota cars and an Honda after it but nothing compared to a beamer when there's need for performance.A 2010 Camry XLE V6 can only take off faster than an E39(not even M5) but cant sustain it's lead after the first 2 minutes(I say this because I know it) of take off let alone an M5. The guy surely doesn't know what the M stands for.

In 2006 on my way to Ado-Ekiti with my 95BMW 525i A C180 Benz and a 99 Accord zoomed past me while I was doing only 100kph, really felt slighted and doubled up I simply took out the accord in less than 3 minutes but formed a bracket with the Benz until I got to Iloko-Ijesa junction and had to let him go because he was going towards Akure while I turned in to my left for Ekiti. If I can recollect I think I did up to 200kph or more that day.

ObamaUS: You guys should always try and read things in details and also analyze things thoroughly before making comments. The guy was sentenced to death not because of the thing or the value of what he stole but because of been in possession of firearms. He could have killed the woman because of paltry N1705.

Imagine if somebody comes to my house to steal N10m without carrying any arm.If the person is caught,he wouldn't be sentenced to death but if another person comes to steal N10 and comes with a gun.If he's caught, the law states that he would be sentenced to death.

PLS ANALYSE THINGS VERY WELL AND THAT'S WHY YOU ALL WENT TO SCHOOL.
THE JUDGE IS RIGHT WITH THE JUDGEMENT
This sums it all it was the possession of firearms that earned him the sentence not the object value of his theft.

Spirit of Okija: Even your parents dont have that kind of openess..

Some of you have a really fairy tale idea of married life.. Some couples are still shy of walking b'utt n'aked in front of each other.. Some spouses do not know how much each other earns so why would her keep her phone private mean they are not ready to be married?!

The Guy has issues of trust and thats gonna be a problem in the future.. He could get paranoid and start beating her at the slightest suspicion of infidelity, he may even kill her one day in a blind jealous rage..

If I knew the girl, I would advice her to dump him.
In making your point you don't have to bring in my parents, that said I don't know how you were raised but where I come from honesty and complete openness is the legal tender with with you procure trust which is vital in every relationship.

"99.99% loyalty is not loyalty" If she's not ready to be plain with you in all things then think twice. Until the two of you get to a level where you can even pick each others calls and can give simple and acceptable explanation for any suspicious calls or text messages then you are not ready for marriage. Remember trust isn't everything in a relationship/marriage it's the only thing.
