Investment / Re: Why Is Nigerian Government Borrowing From China When There Are Other Options by lugado: 12:13am On Sep 16, 2020
Theevilone:

Educate me and my likes more if u have wider knowledge, the little I know about inflation does not explain anything about the topic .

lemme explain to you in the most dead simplest way ever.
1 naira is not the internationally agreed trade money so you cant pay back in naira
when Nigeria borrowed from china we were given in dollars not naira
for the money to be useful to us here we have to convert it to naira. And the only way is to look for someone to give us naira and take the dollars.
since we dont produce many goods here, many individuals and companies will buy the borrowed dollars with their naira so they can buy their foreign products.
2 if the government produces a lot of naira to pay their debts, who will buy the naira and give us dollars that is required to pay back since naira is not spent or required on the international scene

so the only reason to produce more naira is for the government or companies to produce international goods or services that will require our naira to produce our local products.
right now the major products we produce that fetches us dollars are crude oil and agric produce and it's not enough because what we import is greater than what we export, so we need more dollars than naira

so digest that for now
i would love to go further on how it causes inflation but you don't need that for now
peace

Fellow masses, we can continue to lament as a people or we can actually start taking steps to show these politicians we aren't fools.
No bloodshed, no violence. Just simply voting them out back to back every 4 years. No acknowledging PDP or APC, they are all the same. No tribe, no religion, they are immaterial.
Goodluck fell short of expectations so we voted him out. Buhari turned out worse, he should also have been voted out. If that had happened, imagine the stern message that would have sent to the political class! But people got sentimental and selfish, the little clout we got in voting out GEJ was lost.

I dedicate this FTC to April 18, 1997 which was Eid el kabir of that year grin

yeah you are right. goodluck was voted out because we Thought Buhari was gonna be a better option
but people didn't vote buhari out because PDP didn't provide a better candidate
atiku was never gonna win any election ahead of buhari because of his corrupt nature

Thunder fire Atiku Hypocrisy there. foolish man

don't mind Atiku. talking as if he's making sense.
who wants to buy all that our old fleet called presidential jet during this covid19. period

sometimes I wonder if he was really a VP at all.
because he should know what a budget means.

comparing our budget to Saudi Arabia is so stupid. even the 30% slash in their budget is twice our own

a budget is like planning for the revenue you hope to generate. most times the budget is just averagely 60% implemented. so even if the national assembly complex is included, it can never be a priority
there are bigger projects like the 2nd nigeria bridge
the railways and co and there's salary to pay.
covid19 to contend with

all the planes put together is so insignificant.
its not even up to abacha loot. can't even finish a single project.
now when this covid19 is all over, government will now make a request for a new presidential fleet.
see corruption

This would be the best option but because they are either bereft of ideas, selfish and parochial in their thoughts it won't happen.

Resource control will make every state know how much it has, how much it can borrow and then make informed decision as to who to engage to solve their electricity issue.

This would also help regions to come together and use their comparative advantage to solve electricity issues. Eg the SW can easily engage Siemens while the MB can engage another electricity Coy to sort out their needs. Excesses electricity can then be sold to regions/states that may need it instead of engaging another firm.

Every state can produce electricity. wind, water/dams all over, and sun can be used. ND use their gas and coal is even an option.

pls don't let's shy away from the truth. government at any level in Nigeria can't sustain electricity. ordinary road our state government, they can't maintain. ordinary pipe borne water they can't provide. schools are dilapidated.. salaries they can't pay. light railway lines Lagos fourth largest economy in africa, has been battling for over ten years. the subsidy government is paying on electricity some people are raking billions from it.
the contract given to the discos is just a padi padi arrangement.
Siemens should take over

Hmm, FG negotiating with terrorists as if they wan buy something from market women? There's a country that will never negotiate with terrorists, they'll rather infiltrate them and send special force to rescue the girl and outrightly kill their head

Sometimes I ask myself who is boko haram? Who is fulani herds men (who will kill and claim it and go scot free) and who is federal government? Are they not the same set of people?

Imagine, FG arrest boko haram, later release them, give them money in the name of rehabilitation. Herds men kill the whole village, miyeti allah claim they are responsible, FG made no arrest.

God help us in this fake country. Leah, may divine help reach you wherever you are. Some are happy you're there coz it's in line with their agenda, that's why they don't care if you are rescued or not but God's mercy will locate you, Amen.

Our darling BBQ man, what did our darling president and daddy says jare

NB: for those quoting me, did I mention any country? Why are you all saying USA? Na you Sabi o. May God punish all terrorists sympathizers!
its a big lie. get your facts right. the only country that does not negotiate with terrorist is isreal. and its because they are surrounded by terrorist countries. terrorist don't even bother capturing them because isrealis are ready to die for their country because knowing fully well that they have always been the target in the middle East and they won't want their country paying ransom or exchange agreement every day
Politics / Re: Ogun State Approves Amotekun Bill by lugado: 7:38pm On Feb 12, 2020
the biggest problem we have in Nigeria is ignorance and ineducation. when the attorney general said amotekun was illegal and it has no backing from the Constitution, everyone wailed without looking at what the Constitution says. even yeye so called experienced yeye learned people tried to coin parts of the Constitution to justify it. after a meeting with him and the vp , they now realized. they didn't do the right thing in the first place. now they are quietly doing the right thing.
we need leaders in this country that know now how to go about things the right way.
