Nairaland / General / Zedcrest Unveils Digital Wealth Management Subsidiary by Lukenzo: 12:33pm On Feb 20, 2020
New-age financial solutions powerhouse, Zedcrest Capital Limited on Thursday, February 20th, 2020 (20:02:2020) announced the launch of a wholly owned subsidiary and new Investment/Asset Management firm aimed at digitally `democratizing investment in Africa.

The new company, Zedcrest Investment Managers (“ZIMVEST”) will introduce digital private wealth and investment management, help clients grow wealth by beating inflation and currency risks through multicurrency investments, through best in class paperless processes

According to the Founder & Group CEO of the Zedcrest Group, Saheed Adedayo Amzat, CFA, “ZIMVEST’s differentiating factor will come from the renowned expertise of the Zedcrest group in the global financial markets. This is evidenced by the leadership position of its global markets business, Zedcap Partners which bagged the 2019 best brokerage service award of FMDQ OTC. The Group also has a wide distribution experience garnered from setting up another subsidiary, Zedvance, a top-three consumer lender in Nigeria.

The Chairman of Zedcrest Group and former managing partner of Ernst & Young, Adebisi Sanda said: "The launch of the Asset Management business ties in nicely with our plan to dominate every important vertical of Financial services: our four pillars of global markets, investment management, lending and payments. Despite some growth in the last decade, capital formation in Nigeria is still relatively low compared to our frontier/emerging market peers. The total AUM of the contributory pension scheme, at 10 trillion is just under 10% of GDP compared to South Africa at 63% of GDP. The non-pension AUM at about 1.2 trillion is very low and represents a clear growth opportunity, one which we are going after."

Gbenga Adigun, the newly hired head of Asset Management who left his posh job at one of the country's top three asset management firm, believes ZIMVEST would leverage on the Group’s remarkable capacities and capabilities to launch the firm into the top five players in 5 years.

"I am delighted at the focus and vision I met on ground at Zedcrest Group and excited at the unique opportunity we have to create tremendous impact. In the coming months, we will be unveiling new well-thought-through products to meet the investment needs of the public. We would have propositions for the salaried employees, entrepreneurs, HNIs, corporates, governments and family offices", Adigun said.

He also showered glowing praises on the Management of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), for the support in granting the operational license in record time.

With the current thrust of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to drive inclusive growth in the economy, returns have fallen tremendously as fund managers have been locked out of the Juicy Open Market Operation market, in favour of foreign investors who bring the much needed foreign currency inflows. Most fund managers are expected to have negative real returns in 2020, a situation Zedcrest attributes to the unusual dependence on risk-free government securities investments.

A recent guideline from the CBN elongates the available CBN futures yield curve to 5 years from 12 months. The management of Zimvest believes this is to encourage foreign direct investment in critical sectors of the real economy and would significantly give Nigeria a growth lifeline.

"The Nigerian rising narrative is about to be rekindled and we believe this is the best time for us to be setting up. We have a clear opportunity to bring alternative investments products to the market, and reduce the focus on government securities. We would be creating products for underlying investments in infrastructure and the agricultural value chain", another Zedcrest Director, Stella Duru added.

The Hausa Language TV drama series (with English sub-titles) from Unilever’s Sunlight detergent, has been on air for nine weeks now in various northern TV stations across Nigeria.

For the third year in a row, Knorr, Unilever’s largest brand in partnership with United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) marked the 2016 World Food Day with the #ShareAMeal campaign. This year’s activation which began at Marigold College, Oworonshoki Lagos, had popular actress and Knorr’s brand ambassador, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Unilever employees prepare and share nutritious meals in line with Unilever Knorr’s Green Food Steps of making nutritious meals.

The 3 green Food steps include tossing green vegetables into your stew, stirring them in and crumbling the iron fortified Knorr stock cube. The #ShareAMeal train will also visit some IDP camps in the North Eastern part of Nigeria.

Speaking at the school’s event, Unilever President Africa, Bruno Witvoet said: ‘’With 25% of the world’s population unable to access the nutrients they need to live a healthy life, Knorr uses platforms like World Food Day to create a better world. We’re excited to be a part of the 2016 World Food Day, and we are totally committed to helping Nigerians get the nutrients they need from their meals. The energy here is amazing. With Omotola around, and the children so excited, we are able to spread the word and encourage people to #ShareAMeal.”

Knorr Ambassador Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde who was well-received by the students, demonstrated the Knorr Green Food Steps and shared Knorr’s nutritious meals to them. She also led the students in various fun activities such as dancing to the Knorr song.

“I have always had projects promoting wellbeing in children and women, so being a brand Ambassador for Knorr on such a project is perfect synergy. I am excited to be a part of what Unilever Nigeria is doing with Knorr to address the serious issue of anaemia in Nigeria”, she said.

Also speaking at the event, Brand Building Director Foods, Mrs. Nsima Ogedi-Alakwe explained that the World Food Day event forms part of Knorr’s commitment to help reduce the prevalence of iron deficiency anaemia in Nigeria, and improve the health and happiness of a billion people by unlocking more flavour and goodness from everyday food.

Following the success of last year’s campaign through which over one million nutritious meals were shared globally, Knorr and WFP are endeavouring to make an even bigger impact with this year’s World Food Day. In addition to sharing another one million meals, this year’s campaign also incorporates the ‘world’s first truly global language’ of emoji, where people can simply tweet #ShareAMeal alongside a meal emoji of their choice.

The digital campaign will encourage people across Nigeria, and the world to tweet #ShareAMeal plus their favourite meal emoji to donate a nutritious meal to a local food charity, enabling people across the world to help create a brighter future where nutritious food is more accessible.

World Food Day marks the three-year anniversary of this impactful, long-term global partnership between Knorr and WFP. Together, Knorr and WFP aim to improve global access to nutritious food. To date, the partnership has provided a total of three million school meals in many countries around the world.

I think Shekarahu of ANPP should also step down for General Muhammadu Buhari (CPC) in the interest the good people of Nigeria. We really need Genearal Buhari, he is transparent, above all, he has the number one quuality which most of our past leaders lack, sincererity of purpose.

Please Goodluck Jonathan have nothing to offer us. With the little few months approximatly close to a year in office he should have amde the difference to convince Nigerians to vote for him but he failed galantly.

Adams Oseomole of Edo (ACN) promise the people of EDO STATE that he will prove the difference in just 90 days in office and now he is earning the dividened by getting the vote of his people in last week election, now most sincere Edo indigenes will tell you he had perform much more than even Lucky Igbinedion who spent 8 years with nothing to show for it.

Buhari is the only Chairman of NNPC who do not have a single petrol station or a refinary for himself. he headed PTF and left with huge amount of money which is very rear character of our leaders and reduced Nigeria fiscal policy from 24% to about 4%. That is the kind of mind-leader Nigeria needs at this time.

godfatherism in ACN is yielding better product and good than that of the - papa decieving pickin (PDP) party so please let join hand to vote en masse for BUHARI in respective of party, religion, ethnic or region.

, Buhari all the way!
Politics / Re: Freudian Slip: Bode George Said He Is The Symbol Of Pdp In Lagos by Lukenzo: 10:52am On Apr 14, 2011
Hmmmm, Bode George is one of the mosters of this country under the secret umbrella of the so called PEOPLE DESTORYING PEOPLE (PDP) The party as become so powerful that they see what ever evil or coruption they do in this country as RIGHT in the constitution of the PDP. Since his party members could celebrate his come-back from Kirikiri prison while like Mandela. His fans with planks with words like - 'The Joshua of our time', 'Mandela of Nigeria' and so on, why will he (B. GEORGE) not open his mouth and claim the SYMBOL of his VIRUS party. grin

While even in prison, he still have a say on which candidate will go for what post. I'm so overwhelmed that the Papa Deceiving Pekin (PDP) party cheesy did not win any seat in Lagos. ACN will sweep them away totally in the South West and then we can feel good impact like Fashola in the south west.

Congratulation to Mr. Loser (B. George) grin , keep celebrating your PDP symbol in Lagos. I just hope you will not talk too much to goto prison again because if you talk too much and OBJ gets agree, You will be in soap again, THE FEAR OF OBASANJO IN PDP IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM, wink

I love NAIRALAND,
