These people and I finished secondary the same year. Many of us never had a decent secondary school education. Thank God 2e did well in the university. How I wish no Nigerian will ever cheat in their WAEC exam. We would seen a lot of educated people manning our various aspects of life. Only God knows how many Nigerians of under 40 alive today sat and passed their WAEC fair and square. God forgive us! |
Leemzyy:Is that Halima Gazul? |
To be honest, if this woman is one of my acquaintances, we'd get along like a house on fire. I like it when people type correctly, both in grammar and punctuation. Even better when they speak correctly. The woman had a fair share of good education. Not this generation of Nigerians that wrote WAEC with their smartphones. Nigeria used to be sweet when many people were sane. |
Nwaotu10:To check on someone is to make sure there's nothing wrong with them. To check up on someone is to make sure they're doing what they're suppose to do. The mother is correct, only wrong to say that 'up and on don't go together.

liminna:You said everything man! Everything is stated in black and white. |
Nigeria my country |
Nigerian education has been reduced to its lowest. So one can get admission into this private, and many other public universities with a JAMB score of 150. We are not helping the young people of this country at all. Even person wey no fit read go fit get 150 for JAMB aswear. |
Like the way you named the sponsors of terrorism and banditry in the north during Buhari's rule. We don see shege for this country. No body sabi use future tense pass these security operatives. Protesters aren't really your problem here. You fail to secure the north properly. Bandits are now the government of many villages. They kill, rape, maim, tax, and everything. Many farmers can no longer plough their fields. People have never been this hungry for the past 30 years of my life, and you expect them to do nothing. Starve and die. Nothing concern northerners with una thief-thief habit before. Na now wey hunger dey hammer even farmers una wan talk nonsense. |
I live in this country and also go through the Nigerian thing daily. Just yesterday, a student of mine called and told me that his dad has been kidnapped and they are demanding 10m as ransom. The father is a rural Fulani man who resides in a remote village. Two years ago, he brought this boy to us and told me he wanted his child to be educated and live a different life. The boy finished his JSS 3 yesterday and travelled back home to his remote village. That same night, the boy phoned and informed me that his old man has been kidnapped the night before his return home. The police will never intervene in such cases, and worst of it is that, cases of this nature are seldom reported by the news. Nigerians have every right to demand change, and better lives. Nobody in the city I live trust the police, people are even afraid of them because extortion always follow. |
At least the ENDSARS protest succded in disbandind the SARS unit of the police. Demonstrations are part and parcel of every successful democracy. To deny, or discourage people from venting out their anger at those who made them angry is tantamount to letting the oppressors continue with their oppression, knowing fully well that there are always a group of Nigerians that will prevent the masses from demanding change and accountability on the people they elected with their votes. I will not participate in the protest, though the harsh economic situation has also impoverished me. But I won't deter other people from exercising their constitutional right. |
Does anyone have brand new Redmi note 12 pro 4g? 8/256gb. |
LifestyleTonite:There is wisdom in the first three paragraphs you wrote. Sane thinking Nigerians are very hard to come by these days. I hope we start setting our priorities straight. Dysfunctional, cheap and low quality education has made many Nigerians aquire useless certificates that have no skill set attached to it. The government has been wrongly subsidising almost everything in the country for long, as against quality, honesty and ethical hardwork. |
olaboy33:Good job man! You've got eyes for details. |
tadpremium200:Chat me up via 081-3541-87 33. I can help you do it yourself |
Don't ever sit down and do nothing. There's a price we pay for inaction. That price could be wealth we failee to pursue because of our fear of taking risks. Get a skill. |
Even in my place in Kebbi we are facing a drought of magnitude never seen before. Many irrigation wells used for watering rice fields are drying up, the water table has gone down significantly. Even the well in construction site has dried up completely. |
labake1:I actually don't do any. 30 years of age. I've never done any of these things. People are still out there |
noobody:Thanks man! |
noobody:I already did all these, yet still the same problem. But, am I the only person experiencing it? |
Luu40:Anybody with solution to this problem? |
Hey guys. The Mi Browser in my Redmi Note 10 Pro has been converted to Content Center. This happened after I received an update from Google Playstore. Even if I uninstall and reinstall it at again, a few minutes in using the Mi browser, it kicks me out and convert it to Content Center. And the Content Centre only shows Youtube video feeds, no browser at all. I hope someone can help me out. Device is Redmi Note 10 pro MIUI14.0.8, Android 13. |
Trex4:If you're only worried about Google authenticator, then you can use an OTG cable to connect an external mouse to your device. This should work and allow you clear up the things you want to since the phone is still alive. |
State police is the way forward. Probably this is the beginning of decentralisation in Nigeria. We use to be very good farmers in the north. With this, probably, we are going to start something for ourselves. |
University education in Nigeria is just too cheap. There are still universities especially in the north where school registration is not up to ₦100,000. JAMB cut off mark is also too low to, so virtually everyone who sits for JAMB scores 140, and will be in the university. Two things: low tuition fees and high student enrolment. These two things can cripple any institution, and the quality of education they offer is very very poor. It's time Nigerians pay well for the services they want. Government cannot be shouldering the responsibility for every everything in this country. My opinion. |

successmatters:Nigeria has not had any institutions in the past and that's why thw governor has to do it himself. Sometimes it is the presidency that gives a directive to the police to do their jobs. I think we are lacking in almost everything in this country. |
Two days ago, I had a conversation with a businessman in my area. He deals in many things; building materials, cement, and other smaller things. A day before we had the conversation, one of his boys told me he took delivery of a cement-filled trailer from BUA Cement, Sokoto. The boy told me the cement-laden trailer was not offloaded because his boss planned to send it to Niger Republic via the Argungu-Bachaka road. The boss had even sent one of his boys to "gyara hanya" meaning 'to settle all security agencies on the route so that his trailer will just pass and go when it sets out for the journey' . And so it did - the security agencies on all the checkpoints we paid and the trailer made it there. The goods we sold to buyers in Niger Republic. Back to my conversation with the boss. He told me whenever his goods make it into Niger Republic, he's paid in Franc CFA currency. After his drivers return hone with the CFA, he will send the money via other drivers to Abuja and have it exchanged for US dollars. He didn't tell me what he does with the dollars afterwards. End of conversation with Alhaji. Secondly, after the initial removal of subsidy, prices of almost all commodities went up, but stablised. Fast forward, it was in January, 2024 that things went from bad to initial worse around here. People realised that they could export even our most basic items in huge numbers (causing scarcity and rise in demand here, making the items more costly) to Niger Republic as we are not up to 100km away from the border. They are currently making alot of money as their number is always growing. The evening of the day I had the conversation with Alhaji, an associate of the local chief - Emir of Argungu told us that the emirate council has made moves mo prevent people from uncontrollably exporting our food items to Niger Republic having liased with the security agencies. As this practice have almost made rice and building materials unaffordable to most people. This move by the Emir caused the price of some things to start reducing little by little, and we later learnt that new security agents have been brought in from Abuja and the have prevented all trailers and small vehicles from exporting anything. But the locals around here, though happy with the move, don't trust the security agencies as they believe they will allow them to move midnight. In my opinion, I think we are making life more difficult for ourselves, though the shape of the economy is also bad. Security agencies are also accomplices in creating these problems. Any truck or trailer that brought food or other essentials to our towns must have paid alot of money to those people manning checkpoints on the roads. And some rich and powerful businessmen have hoarded many goods in their stores, not selling, but waiting for the price to rise as high as possible, kicking many small business owners out of stock of many essentials. |
STEWpid:Its now BUA Sokoto Cement. Sokoto Cement is now in the hands of BUA |
Even in Kebbi State, border towns with Niger Republic are constantly moving rice and other items into the country, causing scarcity and inflation here, and at the same time making lots of money |
They should be made to take another exams there. |
I laught at people of the south who complain of heat. Last year we recorded 44 degrees Celsius. And, scary enough, since 2016, every year after it breaks a record of being the hottest. Last year we recorded low rainfall, our water table is deeper now in harmattan, and it gets much deeper during the dry season. |
