burp18:In Argungu, Kebbi State - my town. There hasn't been sugar in the market for almost three days now. There are rumours that a businessman not so far from our street has hoarded more than two trailers of it since last year or two. He bought it at say less than ₦30,000. Now its about ₦77,000 and yet its still in his store while people can't even see it to buy. |
The government will now start beefing up security in Abuja to make sure he comes and go safely. The same way security is provided for off-cycle election states. The rest of the country keeps experiencing insecurity |
The same thing applies to everything else we do. We are religious, but lack morals. We have degrees, but no knowledge and thinking. We like to take up political positions, yet we have no knowledge and skills to get things done. We have 9 passes in WAEC, yet we don't know anything about the habitat of mosquitoes. Nigeria is a group of sugar-coated human beings, two-faced, and double-edged. We are just luke the food you cook for your high value guests - spend alot on it to entice and impress them, yet we are very hungry. |
Its a pity how people still stand by the man. The fact that he couldn't even save the many people under the rubble of the collapsed building tells you that he is not what you see on TV. I'm very sure these people won't come and lie against him in troves. He probably committed suicide to save himself the media publicity and loss of reputation that will follow after his disciples started talking to the BBC. Many African Christians have been fooled for centuries. Yet, they never learn. |
I agree with the FG on all the countries except Kenya. I'm not even sure whether Nigerian universities are even at par with those of Kenya. Kenya is doing relatively very well compared to Nigeria. |

I believe it is done for the sole reason of making students use their initiatives in solving problems. People who are able to solve complex exercises are mostly better problem solvers in real life. Creativity and innovation are the things Nigerians lack to develop. To get them, one has to be very hardworking, and ready to go the extra-mile. The little online Microsoft Excel classes and tutorials I've attended and viewed have me a much better person at work, because I'm the one who can do the undoable things most people can't. Your ability to positively transfer knowledge from one area to another is a skill to bank on. Lack of these essential elements is what makes our universities dormant, and our students unprogressive. An average Nigerian can pass an English language exam on paper with an average score. But our spoken English is devoid of grammar, and every other things that makes a language speaker correct. |
marienl:Very correct. Education in Nigeria is relatively very cheap. That's probably the reason why most students never get enough knowledge, and can go out of their way to get certificates that have no weight. I have earned more with the Microsoft Excel skill I learned online than my four year bachelor's degree. And please if you're teaching anything that can fetch me an income (part time, and online) , I'll be willing to join if you can take me. Thanks |
Nigerians would rather commit suicide than stand up to what is killing them. - Rotimi Amaechi |
I know many marriages that are even better than what you describe as the ideal relationship. Providing for your family and relieving yourself of sexual urges, have always been the men's role in a relationship; in the same way a woman needs to be soft, and tender, and caring for her husband, and ensure proper upbringing of her children has always been their role. It is feminism that is breaking marriages apart today, not submission to the will of husbands. Many women of today think of themselves as men - they don't want to bw told what to do, or how to do it. No matter how powerful a woman becomes, her husband will always be her boss - take it and live your life in peace. Many elderly women of today never had even an inch of what women of today have. But ask yourself genuinely: are you a better woman than your mom? They took bringing you up as a full time, lifelong job, and they succeeded in most cases. The economy was better during their time, there is peace and trust during their time, even the cultural identity was better during their time. And many of you have been reduced to think that the clothes, food, drink, customs, even names of your parents were primitive and barbaric. Yet, you lots can't even keep a husband happy. A woman who cooks well and meet her husband's natural cravings, a accepts her husband's superiority is a good wife. The rest of you are sharing your husbands with many side chicks. |
I don't know whether crimes have now been fully normalized in Nigeria. Yesterday, a friend of mine told me that he will do a new NIN so that he stand a chance of getting a government job given that he's already 30 now. How are you gonna do it, ? "I asked". He replied, "I will just flip my names and use my foots for the biometric capture and that's all". This is what many people have done now. I later asked whether he is not afraid of repercussions, and he told me that nowhere in Nigeria is a person's fingerprint scanned to reveal his identity. They even now manipulate the soft copy of their NIN to to fool NYSC officials in camp. It's a pity, how reduced many people have become. |
The vast majority of Nigerians are poor. So, who will marry the poor men among your siblings and cousins. |
Saskay44:Alright Sir. Is the USDTNGN under Tether the same as P2P? I'm a newbie. |
Saskay44:. Ok sir. Is there any virtual dollar card creation platform in binance that I can fund with my USDT? |
Guys I'm new in this forum and downloaded the Binance app two weeks ago. I'd be happy if someone could teach me how these things work. I can see the USDTNGN has been crashing lately. |
Saskay44:Hey guy! I have thia Binance app and I can also access these things you posted. What I don't understand is that can I use that rate to buy things online? And is that what people call P2P? |
Your story was very touching. I read through all the details - judging by your account of events, men have dribbled you too much. And I'm sorry for all that happened to you. I understand many men of the place you find yourself aren't faithful to their partners, and also shun polygamy as Muslims do. Still, I urge you not to falter and don't get tired. Find it in your heart to accommodate someone and love them, and get married. Whether you can still have a baby or not, marriage is what is most important. Even if the person isn't as financially stable as you are, as long as you love him, kindly give him a chance and even marry him. Sometimes we have to love some people not because of their pockets, but because we need to spend our life with them. Please. I'm a Muslim man from Kebbi State, 30 in a few days to come. I don't want to exceed 30 years before getting married. I'm also about to get engaged to a lady whose family ia richer than mine. Kindly give yourself another chance, and don't lose hope. |
I don't believe in backup plans for relationships. I love with all my might. If its reciprocated, good for me; if it's not, I move on. Qe don't get to have all the best things of life. You might have a terrible woman as your wife, chances are that she's not a total failure. She could be good at bringing up kids, or better still she loves her kids. Your backup plans are also humans who have feelings, its not good to use them as cannon fodder. |
misreal:I think Aljazeera was shutdown in Israel because of this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyNLvL_8SeY?si=6giqCERoSKXMsyk6 Kindly watch it without any bias, and then review the evidences provided by IDF that they didn't to it. |
Before the price reduction, it sold for 4300,4200,4400 in my place Argungu, Kebbi State. Now it sells for 4,000 to 4,100. Though I was told there's one particular shop it sells at 3,800. My town is Argungu, Kebbi State, some 100km from their production site in Sokoto |
I will take my job in Nigeria. Oyibo land is not my thing. |
1. An introvert. Very shy towards ladies. Can't look them for more than a few seconds, especially ones that are very beautiful and the ones I have feelings for. The first day I went to meet my fiancé, she laughed at me alot for not being able to talk much. 2. I learn languages easily. I'm fluent in Hausa, English, and Pidgin languages. I can speak a bit of Adamawa Fulfulde. 3. I think quite different from most people, which I think is probably due to the type of education I received. I am honest in all my business dealings with people. I don't cheat or maneuver anyone, as I don't want to be cheated. 4. I like meeting new people and learning about their style of life, dishes and how they see the world. 5. I'm a tech savvy too, since childhood I've learned alot about science. I'm a data analyst, and an exceptional user of Microsoft Word and Excel. 6. I enjoy travelling to places I've never been to before, and I always eat what I see in any place I go, except that which my religion forbids. 7. I like being alone, and in the company of a few friends. 8. I'm a fast learner, and very effective and efficient at the things I do. 9. I like reading books and gardening. Though I've suspended the latter till I get married. |
Jennyclay:Funny woman. |
Kobojunkie:1. Sorry for not saying men too need to be chaste. By next month, I'd clock 30 and I'm a virgin. 2. And here you are now with your good English on Nairaland. Life has to go on unbalanced, but some basic necessities should be on ground. I always thank God for my financial and personal situation. Though I don't earn too much, I live a much better life than many of my peers. We just have to be pushing ourselves to be better. Thanks |
Conditions may warrant you to be, live, or work with people with whom you share different views. But being a virgin, and chaste till marriage, I think is the most precious gift you can offer your husband. Most women who are chaste are mo morally sound than the rest. Think about your mothers especially if they are people above 60 or 70 now and remember how they brought you up. Most of them were never financially stable, yet they were able to bring you up against all odds. If you are to wait till you're financially buoyant to have a family, chances are that most people will never be financially buoyant throughout their life. And that is the natural order of things. .I'd pick a decent woman above all. |
Does it mean that people can now freely import cement, rice and other items - like they are no longer on import prohibition list? |
Funny enough, there isn't a single Hausa or other Northern tracks here. Does it mean that the north and south are two distinct regions, or we're just not a homogeneous blend? |
With good education in Nigeria, most people can become good and useful members of the country. He was even the VC of UNN. May Allah the Almighty forgive his shortcomings and make Jannatul Firdaus his final abode. The Nigerian political system and identity politics have made us hate each other for no reason, killed and maim our brothers, makenour education system valueless. I hope we see better days ahead. |
michlins:In my place here, Argungu, Kebbi State, we buy it at the rate of 4,300 to 4,400/bag. I even bought 4 and half bags yesterday. I don't know whether its because of our proximity to Sokoto state. On seeing this announcement later in the day by BUA, I am hoping ours around here won't even reach the N3,500 price. |
Be a man at all cost. Trust some people, but depend on yourself. Be good to people as much as you can. Help will come your way on a rainy day. |
