Aigbofa: All oil dependent economies are going through the same things Nigeria is going through. But not all them were looted to death as experienced under Jonathan. Oil slump started 2 yrs ago, that is not an excuse. |

Aigbofa: I'm sure you are not suggesting Buhari ruined the country in seven months because that would be disingenuous. If you were better off under Jonathan chances are you got some money from Dasuki but for most Nigerians the only difference is that someone is finally saying enough. My signature says what i do & the past six months witnessed a 'stand-still' in our transactions compared to the previous year. We need an improvement in economic activities. |

Aigbofa: The mumu who presided over the mindless looting of the country is in retirement. Don't you think he should be doing some hard labor right now. Nigeria became Africa's biggest economy, no. 1 FDI destination for Africa, his people started buying brand new cars all under a 'mindless looting' president. Now that we have a president who has 'closed' all channels of 'mindless looting', are Nigerians any better now? |

Ghost01: Part of allocating funds appropriately is ensuring that the funds allocated are well spent. And it is the Ministry of Finance that we're talking about here .... Don't comment like someone who is ignorant of the workings of government!
Besides, the then legislative committees on Defence must also give account. Oversight function lies with the legislature & not any ministry. |

asamaigho: for now everything is wrong with a university of maritime in gbaramatu.
reasons
1. duplication of instituition(we already have one in oron). why stretch d limited resources of d transport ministry. 2 gbaramatu is so volatile, and very unsafe, the place is a safe haven for miscreants in d name on "mend" 3. the fraud activities sorrounding the land acquisition, comstruction of d said project is mind blowing. 4.everyone connected to said project have their lips stained from "yam" eating.
we need to b more patriotic and less sectional in our views. 1, Is maritime education the only one with multiple institutions, what of police, agricultur, education etc? 2, There are still universities located in towns in Borno, Yobe & Adamawa states, is Gbaramatu more volatile than them? 3, If there is fraud, investigate it & penalise perpetrators & NOT the concept. 4, What is your proof of 'yam' eating. |

joeprince23: you don't get it at all... People get in to authority and their community become the only viable place to site institutions, facilities, and infrastructures Is the community not part of Nigeria, why not ask for FGC Daura to be closed down because it was built in Buhari's hometown or federal university Otuoke be scrapped because it is located in GEJ's hometown? |

Is there anything wrong with having a maritime university in Gbaramatu Do we have only one institution for agriculture or education or do we have only one police college in Nigeria? |

omenka: I have faith the money would be used judiciously and not embezzled in such a brazen and callous manner as witnessed in previous admins.
For all those who would flood here to throw tantrums, do this little math:
Your Hero was taxing Nigerians over 30 naira per litre of fuel. If you buy just 2litres, you've been "taxed" 60 naira. Do an estimate of the amount the government was making with regards to out total daily consumption- that was what they were realising under the phantom SURE-p. Pray tell, what exactly did they do with all that money??
Can't wait for a comprehensive probe of that programme- I'm sure we'd stumble on another gargantuan "gate". Omenka haba ! |

One of the very few forthright politicians in Nigeria.
Corruption in Nigeria goes beyond party affiliation, both PDP & APC politicians, (including the Otta frog that stole $14 billion) are all very corrupt. I am not convinced about Buhari's anti-corruption fight till it cuts across party lines.
All Nigerian politicians are thieves. |
