I'm sorry but I know I'm talking to someone that knows little about the subject area and would rather scream through an anonymous forum such as this.

My point is simple... Provide the specs and see whether I would not condemn any aspect of it that is dodgy.
I've given my layman's cost of 500k for a borehole we constructed in our compound, inclusive of submersible pump & overhead tanks and you mr. technical is saying it can cost up to 40 million because it is for govt of Lagos state & i ask you how?
If you cannot state a technical breakdown & attendant cost implication for a 40 million borehole & 78 million website, then please shut-up!
Let us stop massaging the egos of thieving public office holders.
Whether it is Stella Oduah, Diezani, Amaechi, Yuguda or Fashola, let us call them by their simple names, THIEVES.

If you were a pro you would understand the items I posted and how they affect cost.
Am not, pls educate us on what can jerk up borehole price in Lagos by 8000%.
PoliticsRe: Did Diezani personally sign any Cheques as Petroleum minister? by luvinhubby(m): 9:43am On Oct 16, 2015
rusher14:
Of course the specs determine the true cost.

If these boreholes (2 nos.) had associated large volume steel tanks, reticulation works and were quite deep, in geologically challenging terrain, then the costs would not be the same as having to apply hand augers to make a hole.

There are all manner of factors that determine the pricing of a borehole -

The VI / Lekki axis of Lagos requires greater depth, and is more prone to salt water intrusion. This besides the cost of construction often requires a treatment plant.

There are sundry reasons why a borehole project might be expensive. The devil is in the detail.
What kind of challenges in borehole drilling will require N40 million to drill one in a coastal terrain like Lagos.

We just drilled one in a very challenging area of Lagos for 500,000.

Pls let us stop justifying stealing public funds in any manner.

SLIDEwaxie:
don't mind the idiots, my friend.

The Institution that deals with Information is the ministry of information headed by the commissioner of information. The commissioner is responsible for signing cheques and awarding contacts pertaining to information.

Diezani headed the petroleum institution, she is responsible for contracts and signing of cheques under her.

That word: institutional process is so giving our dunce brothers up east some headache to digest.

The guy said, I am a lawyer....it means, everybody got his job to do...that's why they are there!
And Fashola did not know that an institutionalized corrupt body approved N78 million for his 'personal' website?
Who does the commissioners report to every week at state executive council meetings that gives final approval for all govt. contracts?

Justifying Fashola`s criminality is justifying every other crime committed by political office holders in Nigeria.

Waiting for the next thread or post from any sentimental fellow accusing any past federal minister of corruption and they will get an apt reply with Fashola's cheque signing formular.

PoliticsRe: Akure Youths Flogged Eze-ndigbo Out Of Deji Of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Palace by luvinhubby(m): 9:37am On Oct 15, 2015
nairalandist:
It was very stupid and disrespectful of him to have worn a crown to meet a Yoruba king. Was he trying to compare himself to a monarch? Eze Ndigbo title is just for representation of the Igbos in diaspora, but some of the so called Ezes have taken it too far. Trying to wear a crown in another man's region means asking for trouble when you know you're not a monarch. Only the likes of Obi of Onitsha etc may wear a crown to visit a fellow king as those are true monarchs.

If the Yorubas won't have Oba in Onitsha, I see no reason why the Igbos should have an Eze Ndigbo in any state outside their region. That's just disrespectful . . . to add insult to injury, he wore a crown to meet the DEJI OF AKURE! Chai. . . Igbo people can fall my hand with lack of respect. Igbos will always try to do what they can't tolerate in their own region. angry angry angry angry
Even as a full blooded Igbo man, i concur with you 100%, my people should stop parading resident clowns as Ezendigbo on another monarchs territory.

Tonyebarcanista,

I dont always agree with your opinions, and even though im not sure your analysis here is sufficient, i do agree with you that this excuse is lame and shameful. It betrays either a sloppy mind, or a devious one. Either option is bad news.

If a governor cannot question such bogus and outrageous expenses and even approves it, one wonders what sort of shenanigans would fly under his nose as a minister.

The court of public opinion, however, is not unknown to render selective judgment.
The bolded should be the concern of all right thinking Nigerians.

MayorofLagos:
Nobthey do not bother on same thing.
Stella was investigated by lawmakers of the land.and her actions were found unbecoming of a minister. Senate recommemded for her to be sacked....not resigned, but sacked!

Fashola has not been investigated. You can change that. If you are a resident of Lagos submit complaint and also file legal brief.
Whether it's an investigation or screening, both conducts in public office was in public scrutiny and it is left for the public to either approve of or scold their actions. That Stella Oduah was not convicted in a law court doesn't make her actions right and that Fashola was not prosecuted for inflating govt. contracts doesn't justify his acts, the only difference in some public reactions is just the sex and tribe and that leaves this country hopelessly lost.

Do not compound a simple issue of legal jurisdiction.

Stay on topic and stop pulling sidecars into discussion. Steallah Oduah is a sidecar. The subject here is on Fashola.

Cc: tonyebarcanista
The question here bothers on integrity of public office holders while in power and both fellows share something in common, they both inflated public contracts outrageously and one is been rewarded while the other was reprimanded

MayorofLagos:
Stella Oduah was summoned for an investigation looking into mismanagement. As a Federal Minister the Senate has jurisdiction on her accountability. She was put under oath.

Fashola was a State Governor, the Nigerian Senate has no jurisdiction on his case in Lagos State. Simple!
Nobody asked under what conditions they were being grilled, the actions of both under similar circumstances at different times and offices is what is been compared, how does the two differ?

It is however unfortunate that the Senate FAILED to ask relevant question but instead nod their heads in ignorance. It is very shameful that the same Nigerians that called for the head of Princess Stella Oduah over the N260million vehicle were singing Fashola's praise for the shabby defence that he put up.

Seun Oshewa, Obinna Ekezie (Wakanow.com) and a whole lot of others are outstanding Nigerian youths.
