The Federal Government through the National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the 2020/2021 National Common Entrance Examination Results, pegging the national cut off marks at 142.

Announcing the results as presented by the Registrar of NECO at a news conference in Abuja, the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, said a total of 70,580 candidates sat for the examination nationwide, out of which 24,416 candidates passed with a minimum score of 66.

Three students who recorded the highest scores are, Umeonyiagu Chinua Crucifixio (Anambra State) who scored 199 out of 200 marks followed by Onwuamanam Udochukwu (Enugu State) with a score of 198 and Salaam Mariam Aderemilekun (Lagos State) who scored 197 marks.

The exam which was earlier scheduled to commence on 6th April, 2020 could not hold as a result of the outbreak of the novel COVID-19 pandemic. However, after much discussions with relevant authorities, the examination finally commenced on 17th August, 2020 and ended on 12th September, 2020, spanning a period of four weeks.

According to the Head of The Nigeria National Office of The West African Examinations Council, Patrick E. Areghan, A total of One Million Five Hundred and Forty-Nine Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty (1,549,740) candidates registered for the examination from Nineteen Thousand One Hundred and Twenty-Nine (19,129) recognised secondary schools in Nigeria. Of the number that registered for the examination, One Million Five Hundred and Thirty-Eight Thousand Four Hundred and Forty-Five (1,538,445) candidates sat the examination.

Out of the total number of candidates that sat the examination, One Million Four Hundred and Fifty-Six Thousand Seven Hundred and Twenty-Seven (1,456,727) candidates, representing 94.69% have their results fully processed and released while Eighty-One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighteen (81,718) candidates, representing 5.31% have a few of their subjects still being processed due to some errors on the part of the candidates. Efforts are, however, being made to speedily complete the processing to enable all the affected candidates get their results fully processed and released, subsequently.

The analysis of the statistics of the performance of candidates in the examination shows that;

One Million Three Hundred and Thirty-Eight Thousand Three Hundred and Forty-Eight (1,338,348) candidates, representing 86.99%, obtained credit and above in a minimum of any five (5) subjects (i.e with or without English Language and/ or Mathematics)

One Million Three Thousand Six Hundred and Sixty Eight (1,003,668) candidates, representing 65.24%, obtained credits and above in a minimum of five (5) subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

The University of Nigeria (UNN) hereby invites candidates who had the university as their first choice in the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored 180 and above for 2019/2020 admission screening exercise.

The Direct Entry candidates are to also participate in the screening exercise. The online registration will end on Thursday, August 22, 2019.

How To Apply for Unn Post Utme 2019 Form:
Candidates are to visit the school portal via; unnportal.unn.edu.ng and click Prospective Students
Select Online Application Form and click 2019/2020 Admission Screening Exercise
Enter JAMB Registration Number and generate RRR Invoice
Proceed to bank for Payment or pay using your ATM Card. Eligible candidates are required to pay a processing fee of N2,000.00 (Two thousand Naira only) through Remita Platform at any Commercial bank.
Return to the Portal and re-enter JAMB Registration Number
Complete Date of Birth and all other blank fields
Enter O/Level Subjects and Grades (also provide your Centre and Examination Number)
Re-enter your grades correctly
Upload Certificates (Ensure that their sizes are not above 100KB)
– Birth Certificate
– Local Government Identification
– Testimonial
– First School Leaving Certificate
– JAMB Result Slip
– O/Level 1
– O/Level 2 (for double sitting candidates) and,
