obi4eze: You didn't get me. I never said Enugu Governor didn't do well. In fact, he has done well but how many of the SE Governors and Legislators have done well? Is the percentage up to 50%? would have said yes because of rochas but I truly can say much about him. The only blacksheep I think we have are Ebonyi and Abia state governors. |

obi4eze: Is it only Anambra that makes up the SE? What about Enugu, Abia, Ebonyi and Imo? How well have all these governors and legislators been able to transform their states? If they can't do any tangible thing with the supposed little they get, they will do nothing if there is a secession. Hope you get my point? ehe ehe! don't bring Enugu into your baseless argument our governor has done well and we are proud of him guess you have to talk to your own laggard governor. |
Politics › Re: A’Ibom, moribund industries & dearth of jobs- due to Akpabio's bad policy by lyntiffany(f): 3:51am On May 13, 2015 |
Opinedecandid: I understand what you mean, brother. However, other than the fact that it is not a welcome idea for a government to venture into any form of business, government also has priorities, just like we do in our individual lives.
Take for instance, if what it would have caused the state government to revamp any of those ailing industries is about 2b naira, whereas the employment it will generate as well as the profit it will make in 5-10yrs would not be commensurate with the 2billion. Government would rather deploy such huge allocation to a more viable, resultful and benefiting sector.
Granted that the needed infrastructure has been put in place in the state, a new government has come with the central objective of building industries in the state, let's relax and see another performer in the person of UGE turn the fortunes of the State around through industrialisation. ok sir but am a sis and not bro. |

Opinedecandid: I appreciate your admiration of the person and performance of Governor Godswill Akpabio as well as your thinking that he did very little in the area of industrialising the State in order to create employment.
But I beg to deffer outrightly. My divergent take on this stems from my primary knowledge of Business /Public Administration. The world over, it is believed that for a government to be seen and adjudged highly as fulfilling its responsibility to the people, the 'Government has no business doing business'.
Heard that before?
Government's traditional role is to create EE for businesses to be built and for businesses to thrive.
EE above refers to 'enabling environment'. And this, every Tom, Dik and Harry will agree with me that the Administration of Governor Godswill Akpabio has done. Alright I understand the angle your coming from but I stand to disagree with you on the part " government has no businesses doing business" From op's write up I was meant to understand that this industries was built by the past administration in the 80's all they need is just to be revamped which is not asking too much and which if am not wrong was put up by the past government. I know of the sunshine batteries in essien udim, that battery industry occupies a large hectare of land and is situated in a strategic position which is an added advantage. I am not of the opinion he should revamp all but at least two that can go in hand with the structures he had put up which you know wil attract more investors to the State He should have done it and curb the crime rate that is sprouting daily in the state. |

Opinedecandid: Trying so hard to smear the good name, record and reputation of the Uncommon performer Governor?
Try harder, next time. Bro all we want is a great and progressive nation and we can only do that in gaining access to this kind of information which will help us to keep our leaders in check. Permit me to say that am a fan of akpabio and he has done tremendously well as regards to infrastructural development but in terms of industrializing akwaibom state he did absolutely nothing. All the places the op pointed out are in existence but not functioning, he should have at least revived two or more so that the youths of the state can have something doing but as it stands now every graduate in akwaibom state only awaits for civil service or bank job to earn his or her living where as a whole lot of industries are allowed to waste. Pls bro let's call a spade a spade , let us join hands and move this nation forward for our own betterment. |

francizy: Don't mind Buhari.. I knew all what APC was about.. .
A guy once said that what this new administration does is producing 10 threats and 50 excuses on weekly basis. I think the number should be increased thus, 10 threats and 150 excuses per week..
They made us believe that Buhari is a demi-god/super hero/magician that can turn a stone to bread and water to wine, walk on sea, heal the sick and raise the dead (Nigeria) before election. Now he has started producing excuses and eventually, he has fallen from his most high status (assigned to him by his deluded followers) to a mere mortal.
Isn't it glaring that we need to protest collectively and have all the people at the top leave Nigeria and go on exile? This is because there is never a way we can progress if these set of tribalistic and bigotic political crooks keep ruling us.
I only hope and pray this change is not a retrogression because it will be a terrible four (4) years or eight ( 8 ) for us all. let's keep our hopes alive and see what they have for us. Good morning. |

I wish the Federal government can establish agricultural farm that entails all the aspects of agriculture such as:- animal husbandry, fishery, crop science, horticulture, forestry and wildlife management, storage facilities food and tech farm mechanization e.t.c. just as we have in medicine where they have teaching hospitals in all the States of the federation. Create the farm in each state and find out the aspect in each state can specialize on then fund and employ graduates, it might not necessary be graduates only, as one with wassce can be gainfully employed and allow to make a living from there. USA as country has agriculture as one of it's major source of income but the reverse is the case here. |
