Control arm bushings or tie rods are out of place. Your technician should also check the ball joints. Also check tire pressure for over inflation

Rav4 2008 4cyl

vibrates when on idle In either reverse or drive.

Observation: vibration is more when the rpm drops close to 500 , if reved close to 1000 vibration stops .

Job done so far but no success yet:
Throttle body was cleaned .
Car has no check engine light, was scanned but no faulty code was found .
Crankshaft counterweight was checked .
All possible air leak have been checked.
Rpm is too low at 500 whether the engine is loaded or not and it's that low engine speed that's causing the excessive vibration. Even crankshaft counterweight will only increase vibration if out of timing but should not affect engine rpm. Symptoms like this can be caused by VVT or incorrect timing. Visit another workshop for proper diagnosis

The two front tyres of my Lexus es 350 08 is shaking vigorously. What could be the issue ? I don’t want to be cheated my mechanic so kindly guild me
At what driving condition does your wheels shake? Is it when you're accelerating, or when you reach certain speeds, when you hit a bump or pothole or when you apply the brakes? One of these should also cause your steering wheel to vibrate and the last one will make the brake pedal to shudder.

So which one of them

My car was misfiring before. So I scanned all and error code signified I needed to change all coils which I have done. It stopped and has started again. Scanned it but no code.... Decided to change all plugs and service d nozzle. It was good but after 2 days it was back to misfiring again . I drive a Toyota Camry 2010 4 plug
You may have to visit another technician to do an all round check. The problem may be more of electrical fault than components failure. That there're error codes indicating ignition coil malfunction or engine misfires doesn't actually mean the coils are bad. Even waste spark ignition systems will throw a multiple random misfire code if an injector nozzle is not spitting enough fuel into the cylinder and causing the engine to misfire and stall and this drop in engine rpm is picked up by the crank sensor.

So visit another technician.

Hello house…
Please I want to ask, does ABS drain car battery? Because I was told by one of Rewire here and he said it’s the car ABS that’s draining the battery.
Because my Mercedes Benz c200 kompressor drains battery in less than 2-3hrs if I ever forget to remove the battery terminal.
Please anyone with solution…
Thanks
Any control module can cause battery drainage in a car so long as a parasitic drainage test has been carried out and that module is found to be the cause. So, yes abs can drain battery but this is very rare. Did the rewire do drainage test on your merc before resolving to the abs?

Hello House,
1. I have observed on my Toyota Corolla 2007 model. Vehicle can be parked by 5pm fully switched off and keys out and locked. Then at about 1 or 2am, you just hear the fan come on for about 1.5 minutes and then shuts off too on its own.

2. My Central Lock also after driving for about 20mins, the entire central lock locks and unlocks frequently without pressing any button.

They have clean every part of the button. Removed the BCM and clean it,yet the central lock becomes normal and then goes back to the lock and unlocking manner.

Please let me know how these two problems can be fixed. Much appreciated !!!

My Toyota Camry panic alarm turn on itself intermittently. Please any solution to this?
If you have a factory anti-theft security system in your car and the oem remote, take out the battery in your remote for a while or keep the remote out of range. It should stop if the panic button on the remote is shorting or not returning to open position after being pressed but if it persist it's an electrical wiring problem. Have a qualified technician check your anti-theft system

I bought it from someone last year and didn’t notice any signs of major repairs. I’ve been using it since then. I also went with an expert who confirmed that the engine and body were in good condition. At the time, I only saw two codes related to the EGR and ECT2 sensors.
Additionally, the fan was running directly, so I reset it to factory settings, thinking that would solve the issue. This doesn’t seem like a mechanical problem. It appears to be purely electrical.
Looks like the owner got rid of it for this reason and you became the unlucky buyer. Are there any past scan results? Please post

You can as well contact me since you're on the mainland.

Exactly.
What allow engines to last longer is bad market for engine sellers and mechanics...their beef with thermostats is as clear as day.
They want you to wreck your engine and quickly come back for replacement.
So they wage war on the use of 5w30, on the use of thermostat, use of antifreeze/coolant. Even the cooling fans are not spared; they bypass them and put them on permanent n continuous operation.
So in less than few years after importing the car, the buyer must replace something...yes they make sure of that.
Sometimes these acts stem out of ignorance and for some long term misinformation. I was buying a thermostat at a well know shop at ladipo and this mid-aged mechanic man kept staring at me in shock and I knew in his mind he was like "how can someone be buying what we perpetually remove to prevent damage". So he took the boldness to ask why I was buying the thermostat to install in my car(didn't know I'm a technician cos I don't dress like one each time I go to the market) So I took my time to explain to him what it does, it advantages and how it's absence greatly affect both fuel and lubrication efficiency. It was like veil removed from his eyes the way he payed attention to everything I said. I hope he becomes the doer of the gospel I preached to him.

Please, I really need help before I give up on this car.
I have a 2006/2007 Honda Civic and the fuel consumption is extremely bad , it’s behaving like a V8 engine. This is far beyond normal, and I don’t believe simple sensor errors alone should cause this level of consumption.

Here’s my situation:

• I’ve replaced parts that were throwing codes (02 sensors, MAF sensors, Purge valve, Egr Valve, ect2 sensors, no hose leak anywhere, air filter changedl, plugs changed, thermostat)
• Fixed the cooling fan (now working at factory settings)
• Reset ECU multiple times
• At every refill, I reset my trip meter
Real example:
• 16 liters → only 40 miles (~64 km) . that's around 10MPG
This is draining me financially.
I’ve spent close to ₦800,000 on diagnostics, repairs, and parts — moving from one mechanic to another with no real solution. Even tried a well-recommended workshop in Oyingbo — still trial and error.
Another example:
• ₦20,000 fuel finished just from Abule Egba → Airport → back
This is not sustainable.

Current observations:

• Spark plugs are brown (no oil, no black soot)
• Engine runs relatively smooth , with a little vibration(I just realized my mount is bad and that could be he reason for the vibration)
• LTFT around -21%
• No major current fault codes
• Mechanics here don’t seem familiar with proper fuel pressure testing , so I haven’t done that
I’m honestly exhausted and frustrated. I don’t have access to highly experienced professionals, and I keep wasting money without solving the problem.
Please:
What could cause this level of fuel consumption on a 1.8L engine?
What should I check next that others might be missing?
Any serious, experience-based advice would be greatly appreciated. I honestly don’t know what to do. Pple just dey refer me to their pple on man know man. At the end na rubbish

I will appreciate someone on the mainland .I have met with pple with advanced scanners. some only have tools, they cant solve problem
So sorry you're experiencing this, was there any major repair carried out prior to this problem?

As if that's not enough, they gut out catalyst and if fair enough leave the hollow shell empty else some will stuff it with wire guaze which over time forces its way into the downpipes and restricting exhaust flow thereby choking the engine and to cover these tracks, o2 sensor sockets.

My Corolla 06 usually delay when the gear is engage only in the morning or when the car is parked for atleast 5 hours. I scanned it and I got P0500, something related VSS fault /speed sensor. Pls who do I call? Rewire or mechanic!
I have also watched some YouTube video and I noticed the sensor is attached to the gearbox.
You mean it delays before is locks in gear when you start cold in the morning but continues to drive normal as if there's no problem once the engine is hot right?

Pls can somebody tell me why brand new oem thermostats aren't easily accessible for direct purchase in nigeriahuh like walking into a shop and buying it sharply
Because our mechanics discourage the use of thermostats in our engines using temperate weather and overheating as excuse hence the importers don't see a need to stock their shelves with the product. I've encountered a thermostats in the jack and accessory compartment in the trunk of a lot of cars I've worked on and when I asked the owners why they were removed, their answers are usually the same- after an overheating or to prevent overheating.

I drive a Camry 08 4plugs

I noticed a wobble on the leg from the front passenger side. This happens mostly when I have accelerated now cruising (coming downhill) without matching on accelerator. So when I want to accelerate again I feel those damn wobble otherwise car accelerate just fine.

I have change the shafts (first I changed the outer ones of both legs) then when it continued I went to change the inner shaft cup too. But I still feel same thing.

I called a second mechanic I trust to drive and feel but he said car is fine and accelerate fine and that he didn’t notice of feel anything.

But when I drive I feel it and it even makes a wobbly sound too.

I have done wheel balancing and alignment too.

Don’t know what else to do. Pls my experience engineers help me. What could be wrong?
Lift the car with a jack and shake the wheels left to right. You might be having bad wheel bearings. A little clearance as you shake the wheels can confirm this. More so you should have bought complete shaft not in parts

Monitor each shift solenoid on live scan (especially when shifting to 3) to know if they function the way they should.

I'm however taking out the transmission again to inspect the clutch packs and their pistons. Or possible carry out a pressure or vacuum test on the feed lines to the clutches.

Gear heads in the house, please I need a your intellectual input.

I'm working on a 2010 rav4 U140e transmission. Gear wasn't shifting from 1 throughout the drive time, owner said everything was fine until she discovered transfluid leaks and one gear master took the car for oil pump and converter replacement. I replaced the converter installed by gear master cos the seal inside was broken, disassembled the valve body, replaced 2 dead solenoids and stiffened the return springs of some shift valves in the valve body a little bit cos I noticed the valves were not returning to their rest position when I plunged them with a tiny screwdriver.
I replaced O rings on the accumulator pistons and cleaned the entire valve body thoroughly

Now gear shifts fine from 1 to 2 but skips gear 3 and then to 4 making the engine rpm to spike high on 3.

Can a low transmission fluid level cause the transmission to skip the third gear? Any suggestion please
