Okay imagine Boniface and Oboboana speaking Ondo dialect than Aribo who is from Ondo state, that’s the beauty of migration.
Yeah, he was born in Ondo. But with the name Okoh does it mean he has Efik/ Ibibio blood too?

Onuachu issue is not about move but finding the right club that will understand his style of play.
In hindsight, I wished he never left Belgium. He could have been the top scorer again in the league.. He would have retired a lion 🦁 in Belgium. His team was built around and for him. Even TEA aka Tolu Arokodare can't fill those shoes. He will almost no longer be in the national team. It's sad. He desperately wanted to play in England. And it hasn't worked out fine for him.

[quote author=Nwamazi8 post=125502976]Iwobi currently undergoing his medicals at Fulham, should be announced today

thing Komekn fails to understand is that there is a whole lot of advantage to being a black player born and bred abroad. It opens the door faster for you. Look at Iwobi who even injured and still could move to Fulham. Then look at Ndidi and Kelechi still struggling to leave for the past months since Leicester was relegated. Not to even talk about their white counterparts in the team like Barnes, Madison, and Tielemans.

Now take a look at Cyril Dessers and his Nigerian colleague in Cremonese. Cyril is a regular at Rangers now but I hardly hear about the other guy who performed better than Cyril Desser at Cremonese

To be born abroad is an advantage. You just need to be at least very average to get a team. Unlike players having to strive from Africa to conquer the world.

At this point Team Nwakali cannot say his team is not good to help justify Nwakali, because they had already established Chaves his club is a decent side, they placed seventh last season and have some measure of financial stability. This was used as an argument against Komekn and his Anti Nwakali team who said Chaves is a backwater team with meagre resources. At the second division team, he played in Spain the argument pro-Nwakali team used was that his team is crap but Nwakali was outstanding despite the generally poor performance of that team. They justified this with stats and graphs were he was placed top five or top three in the role he played. With Chaves there will be no escaping. That is if the manager who brought him to Chaves don't get sacked. Plus the added package where he will play against Porto his former team, and a host of top Portuguese sides.

Least we forget, that Zaidu Sanusi' played for a team that got relegated from the Portuguese top league, but his performance was still a justification for Porto to sign him. The ball is in Nwakali's control and I hope he makes good decision with it.

There is a big difference between playing till 39 and playing in 6 world cups. That record is an undeniable fact.

About Onome's selection, stop the CAP. The same Waldrum that called out the NFF for trying to select his players. How did they then force Onome on him? Someone that started the last 2 friendlies before the world cup and scored a goal, which kind of talk is this na?
Oh boy Basco, leave this talk we, do u want to go there with a player to break world cup appearances or u want to go there with a full strong squad to win the world cup.

Well I know definitely you wanna win the world cup with a full solid team whereby when a player is hurt in the tournament or is suspended from next match you are very sure of the backups on ground. Please don't let people hate Ebi, she has had an excellent career. We appreciate her efforts. We appreciate her sacrifices. We appreciate all that she has done for the green, white and green. God bless her for her strong patriotism of wanting to represent us in the next world cup. However, 4 years time from now is a different ball game. She will most likely have a decline in speed and abilities and that's not want going forward. We want everybody in the team justifiably there to win the world cup. We don't want no records on appearances. What's really special about that to the nation. We need to medal up. Since 1991 we have been present in all world cups. That record sef don do.

Napoli have put a 129.4 Million Pounds (about 150 Million Euros) release clause in the new contract of Victor Osimhen.

This is according to Sky Italia.

The clause will kick in from July 2024 for non-Italian clubs and 2025 for Italian clubs.

A release clause as well as personal terms were some of the issues that were considered in the new contract, which will run till June 2026.

Osimhen is the record signing by the Serie A champions after he joined them in 2020 from Ligue 1 club Lille for over 70 Million Euros.

The new contract will make the 24-year-old striker the highest paid player at Napoli with a salary of 10 Million Euros a year, which is more than double what he currently earns.
Meaning he earns 192k per week now.

Similar to what Kelechi Ihenancho currently earns in his final season at championship side Leicester city

E still dey pain me say we don jaah..
I can't look forward to the game on Saturday. How is wish it can be Nigeria 🇳🇬 vs Colombia 🇨🇴. How I so wished cry . So many whys buy we can only move. Why was Oshoala trying to perform bicycle kick on two occasions in that game. Just as Osimhen was doing against Ghana in our world cup qualifier. So many whys but then I hope this team spirit can be kept alive and burning.
I hope the NFF will keep giving this girls the support for invitational tourney in Europe asia and America. That is the only way we can keep up with this other nations. From there I hope we can fix our goal-scoring problem, we need clinical strikers. I remember the days of Perpetual Nwokocha, that lady was a finisher. We need a striker in the mind of South Africa's Kthalana. You can feel her spirit when she moves. Sadly Oshoala has tried. And there is no place to hide anymore for her. She is no longer it. She has played her part. We need to create a striker for this team's style of play. The likes of Sebastian is there, I still believe so much in her, technically she is up there, maybe her physique might not be too strong but we can slowly mould her.

Well said.

I understand people's frustration. A loss can be very painful especially when you played your best game.

But we have to count our blessings:

1. This is our best World cup performance so far

2. We played 4 games and did lose any in regular time. For context, we played World no 3 who are European Champions, World number 7 who are Olympic Champions, World Number 10 who are host nation and World no 20 and didn't lose any

3. We have the worst defensive record at the world cup. This time however, we conceded just 2 goals in 4 games. Read that again, we conceded just 2 goals in 4 games.

4. More importantly, we have a team to build on. About half of the team is 25 and less. We only need a few additions and subtractions and we'll have a better team

5. I can't believe I'm saying this.but I have to

"NFF, Renew Randy's Contract".

Give him the support needed and watch this team fly.
Explain to these people ..let them know. We have shows that we have the capacity of a top 10 team. But can we do it again in the next four years. That should be our goal. Can we perform at this level in the next world cup to show it is no fluke? What and what can we do to be more solid going forward? I can now believe that we can play any team with today's performance.

The real problem for me is the African mentality that makes us go back and relax without any concrete plan going forward.

Watch teams with concrete plans next four years like the USA. Watch where they will reach, they are more likely to end up in top four. That's to tell you they went to the drawing board to fix things. Let's also have the same plan like them, it's not so hard. This is what I define as a winning mindset that comes from consistency.

It's not the one we played today where we are supposed to be underdogs and still lost as underdogs. but the pain is quite understandable.

Look let me tell you all here, even if we had played Denmark it might not have been any different at the knockout for us.
Four years means a lot, we can hit the quarter-finals or semifinals there. Back to back we have played round 16 now. We have shown consistency there. Last time we lost 3 nil to Germany. Today we lost via penalty kicks. Thumbs up. And we can't take away some credit from the glass house for this too. But then we are more than satisfied with the round 16 result even when we play Germany, the USA, Brazil or England again in the next round I want to believe our game should be on the ascendancy. That's all.

Did you actually read to understand or read to reply?
Bro nothing u said there did I not understand. And u are limited by your own knowledge.
We played Morocco at WAFCON we were two players down and Morroco did everything and couldn't break us down even after extra time. We still had the threat when we attacked. Why did u think it played out that way, we are always ahead of Morocco in female football and we were not gonna give in to them even though they were the host nation and seemed to enjoy some officiating decision. In fact that tournament was our worst outing we probably wouldn't have qualified for the world cup for the fact that we finished 4th. Here is a similar situation with England whose football level is ahead of ours and you talk of breaking them down because they are a man down, however bad England played today and we couldn't get the kill punch we needed doesn't take away anything from our girls or those of us who support them for trying. It takes consistency. Today they were lucky we had them on the edge let's consolidate on what we have and work on it, it was good game play from. That's what we are saying. We want to be at the top of the food chain, and that comes with continuous grinding and hard work. I'm sure if we play England tomorrow again we can now beat them. Today before the game was played I never expected that we will have them on the edge. Based on their reputation in comparison with ours. All we have to do is work on what we have today to fear no team again. I hope we keep closing the gap at least and not expecting us to win a game we weren't
favored to win. That's my own point.

When you never expect yourself to accomplish anything, nothing will ever be accomplished. The bar and metrics of success and expectations is just too fucking low in this country... Like we never expect anything from ourselves and our country. Whenever we see a slimmer of success or progress, it feels like Jesus just came down from heaven or automatically Nigerian.

This game was literally there to be won and it's possibly the best the super falcons have ever had since participating in any FWWC...But we gotta make excuses and think we've achieved beyond what we can achieve. Smh.

With this mindset, we can never become whatever it is we are to become.
We hold some of the worst records for a team in the world cup, most goals conceded, least number of goals etc. How u want to define progress again now that we are out. We kept another clean sheet in today's game.
Sometimes how do you people talk and reason? What bar of expectation? Progress is born out of consistency. 9 world cups for us and this is our best. In 1999 it was quarter-finals because we didn't have a round of 16 then. But in terms of performance this is our best performance in the word cup, yes now that we are out It is our best performance. We left undefeated in 90 mins of all games.

We had everything lined up in our favor but we blew it.

From the penalty ruled out to the red card and their first penalty miss, we couldn't take advantage of these.

In my opinion, the team was set-up to defend rather than attack and score.

Anyways, better luck next time. sad
Exactly the team was set up to defend. And that is why we are so hard to beat. We shouldn't be thinking of setting up ourselves like USA, and other offensive European nations, if not we will be playing like south Africa because we cannot match them for now.
But we can become more brutal in our defense and work better on counter. When we play in Africa we can develop and explore offensive styles that suit the basic background of our defensive team.
I enjoy the fact that we don't concede goals, it is very relaxing for me. And we can work on little errors of the opponent to punish them like our third goal against Australia.

There are still millions of south Africans, Ghanaians and other African nationality supporting Nigeria when they are up against other continent .

But of course local rivalry is allowed, I can't support south Africa or ghana when we have to meet within our region and that's fair and good for them not to support us when it is a regiona or continental derby ..

We should stop taking cheap hate poison it damages our lives and rationality.
