lovewins: You're mixing things up. That something could happen doesn't mean it did. I'll give you an example of one that happened.
Glory Alozie once represented Nigeria and won the African championship and commonwealth games gold medal for Nigeria. She also won Silver for Nigeria at the Olympics and World Athletics Championship. She however switched to Spain in 2001 and went ahead to win goals for them at the European championships. Such things exist, but with Tobi's case I expressed doubt that it happened.
The reason is simple, Tobi's record prior to that Diamond league in 2021 or so wasn't seller. Of course she was winning the African and Commonwealth games but US athletes had way better time. She wasn't podium worthy at the World championship and the Olympics. Her best time I think was 12.68 or so. It was when she hit the 12.42 at the diamond's league that things started looking great. She even almost quit cause of not making the podium.
And for the WNBA, you're making my point for me. The WNBA has a maximum of 144 roster spots. Just this year, they've cut numerous no 1 draft picks, that's how competitive it is. So if you don't make that cut you obviously wouldn't even remotely considered for team USA. It's why I'm hoping Arike switches to Nigeria cause they have 10 people who can take a spot and they'll still be elite. But Nigeria is obviously not her first choice, it doesn't mean there aren't persons who right from the start will chose Nigeria. They are just very few. Beyond that Tobi 's case was different, from her secondary school days in Ogun State she was a prodigy the state government and federal government played a key role in her sport scholarship to Texas. At that level it makes the thought about a nationality switch complicated. And that should be how the sport ministry should capture young chaps who excel in sports from secondary school, they should support them and grant them scholarships to the USA to facilitate their development. Many Jamaicans and Caribbean athletes are on scholarship in the USA too. |

Papi85: Juve, PSG, City, United, Arsenal, Barca, Ajax, and so many other clubs have been trying for years to touch the European silverware. Some have spent billions, and still can't get close. Others have bottled every chance they had.
Then, there's Jose Mourinho who took charge of a humble AS Roma in one of their darkest periods in recent history, a club that has never won a European title. Now, Mourinho is on the verge of winning them their second European title, back to back, and he did so in his first couple of seasons as a manager of the club.
Mourinho winning UECL and Europa League with AS Roma will be a bigger achievement than any other coach winning a UCL with clubs like City or PSG (I don't think those clubs will be anywhere near European glory anytime soon).
The special one.
#copied He never Europa yet |

Each of the ethnic nations within the place called Nigeria has their own unique language, culture, science, education e.t.c..
say you or yourself.. don't speak for other Nigerians ( over 100 million people ).
you exhibits traits of backwardness and ignorance.
you lack intellectual sophistication. because if you had any intellect at all you won't be saying the rubbish that you're saying.
the whyte teaches you not other Nigerians your language. the whyte makes you not other Nigerians understand your culture. the whyte makes you not other Nigerians to understand your culture ..
you are just ideological non-identity.
you suffer from serious inferiority complex which is growing into a mental problem...
you come on a Nigerian forum pretending to be African because no sane African will say the nonsense you're saying...
go back to your whyte supremacists forum and stop pretending to be African online that's beginning of going crazy and needing a psychiatrist .. 99 percent of all colonial state are not organic. In African there are barely truly homogeneous states except on in the southern African region. So the cry about our heterogeneous mixtures doesn't hold water as regards development |

TheSuperNerd: And we all know why Amunike's U20 didn't qualify. The one match they lost in over 20 games including both Qualifiers and friendlies was against Sudan thanks to the incompetence of the NFF. So rest on that issue you keep bringing up time and again as if you are ignorant of the truth. These are not issues for justification, I mean there are real bigger problem than this excuses .Siasia's under 23 dream team were camped in the USA and had less than 24 hours to land in Brazil to play their Olympics opening game against Japan and they won. Not just that they ended up finishing with the bronze medal. So we can go on and on about our maladministration but to seek justification for failure for it is not what I will accept. You see it already before taking the job, you know how it is ,if you succeed we shall sing your praise, but if u fail we shall equally remember to recall how you made our heart hurt 🤕 so deal with it |

TheSuperNerd: He didn't but he got the WC ticket and moulded a team capable of not only playing beautiful but finishing up chances. Plus they had decent benches and made the right tactical subs.
Same way Manu didn't with Amunike & Ugbade as his assistants in 2013 but also got the WC ticket and gave us a team that still stands historical till date.
The bottomline: Both sets went on to win the WC coz they improved on what they showed at the Afcon and the qualifiers.
Now, a deeper angle...
Manu did it with Amunike and Ugbade as assistants. They won it together in 2013.
Amunike did it on his own with a separate assistant in 2015 and WON!!!
Manu had the chance on his own in 2019 and FAILED at the WC.
Now Ugbade has his chance on his own in 2023 and started very well at the WafuB but he hasn't been able to raise a midfield as good as what we saw at the WafuB and the team is suffering dearly for it at thus Afcon. Time will tell on Ugbade to see if he matches Amunike or like Manu fails when when they all went alone. Manu is still the bigger achiever here, you forgot he led the team to the under 20 AFCON trophy where he beat Senegal at their backyard in the final. His under 20 team also won the super six, where they played top 6 finishing sides in the Nigerian local league. Infact the local league teams Manu conquered with his boys were much stronger than now. I remember before then the likes of Kano Pillars and Shooting stars playing in the semifinals of CAF CL, I remember that was a league that had the likes of Gambo, Ali , Oboabona, Ejuke, Sunday Mba all these guys played in the national team between that period. I'm talking about 2013-2015. Although the under 20 team did not face this players but it tells u how healthy and robust the league system was at that point and to have lost to an Awoniyi led team in the absence of then Manchester city iheancho, and Isaac success was fantastic. When Manu won in 2013 what was the experience level of his assistant managers. I'm not trying to downplay anyone's team effort here. But I believe that by result Manu still has a better record. Amunike couldn't beat Sudan. I read people come here to defend him for that with all manner of conspiracy about the NFF administration sabotaging him. I mean like really, if that's the case all Nigerian local managers can use that as an excuse for failure. The truth is system change everyday. And performance are open to see for all to judge |

codemaniacs: From the perspective of what PDP did with 16 years and what APC did in 8 years and APC did better than PDP.
most parts of Northern Nigeria is desert and places that are not yet desert are getting desert encroachment so anyone that says they will turn the North into a goldmine by boosting agriculture does not understand the geography of Nigeria and just saying what you want to hear...
Northern Nigeria does not have fertile land for agriculture, only North-central or central Nigeria and southern Nigeria have fertile lands for agriculture...
Manufacturing and exporting is done by private companies so he is saying another thing he has no knowledge about because if he had the knowledge then he would have turned Anambra to an agriculture goldmine and exporting Anambra made products out of Nigeria when he was the governor of Anambra.
I can't stop tribal affiliations because firstly that was the ethnicity I was born into and I have to protect it and work towards my ethnic nation progress and success, so it defines who I am and my environment..
telling me to stop tribal affiliations is the same as telling me to get rid of my identity, ethnic language, ethnic religion, culture, tradition, sanity e.t.c... Sit down a draw and table on the list of food produced in the north and that produced in the south then u will realize what you saying in the words of komnke are assumption. The north as in the far north produces crops and livestock for production ....if there was any blessing the north have received under this buhari administration it will be the boost of the agricultural adjustment and production. How much land is in the desert of Israel, but do u know how much agricultural export they make. Science has gone beyond just sitting down like an arm chair philosopher of knowledge please. zicky: i hope you are not against white supremacy, cos you all reason the same. Bias is natural my brother. This has nothing to do with white supremacists. We are all biased towards certain things. And one of those is our ethinc affiliation. It is how we use power as regards our ethnic loyalty that can affect us in most cases negatively. If I have a job to give and an Edo man like me is very qualified for it, it will be okay to give him ahead of others from other ethnic groups who are just as qualified as he is. But if he fails to meet a certain requirement that puts him on par with others who are qualified for the job and I offer it to him on the basis of being my kinsman, then I'm certainly setting the group for failure, ethnicity, corruption , maladministration amongst many other malaise that runs a society aground. The truth is we can't remove our biase on certain affiliations in life. But we are adequately allowed to make choices on biases or preferences that are best having met certain preconditions or requirements. |

chatinent: The Benue river consumes more people per year than how birds pluck fishes from the river. And unfunnily enough, a friend from Wurukum told me it only takes non-indigenes. And this rumour is lowkey popular around that North Bank side and Wurukum area after the bridge. I lost a colleague to it too, and that was when other colleagues began to narrate their loss stories too, and stories they heard.
One story that transpired that very time I was there when my colleague drowned was that some other persons went there to swim and the river came out to the bank where they were and swallowed one of them. He wasn’t even swimming! It just came at him, held him as a friend would hug his longtime friend he’s just seen, and took him beneath. You are a good writer. |

komekn: It's inconsistently consistent for the stupendous valuation and demand that Villarreal has put on him.
How do you determine consistency it's outstanding continuous performance over a period of time. It's not occasional flash in the pan brilliant performances.
Chukwueze has been at Villarreal in La Liga for 5 seasons, last season he scored 3 goals the season before that 4 goals and the season before that 3.
That's essentially average but with an over valued transfer by fee. Another Nigerian born player left the Championship in 2021 as a winger comes to Villarreal and scores 10 goals in 23 games. Now on loan from VillaReal heating up the bench in Tottenham. He cost £21 million.
And VillaReal want clubs to pay £100 million, l think they are dreaming.
Chukwueze is not among the to 20 best Winger's in the world far from it.
Not too long ago a few contributors here were saying he is better than Saka and Sancho.
You need to be realistic. I believe u understand better what inconsistency is than the Madrid bosses who are interested in him. You think they don't know him in and out . You think u know him better or understand him better because he is a Nigerian who has found his path from home to be where he is today. At every point certain decision must be made and sometimes it will work well and other time it wouldn't . Thats just how life is. |
