His Great Love For Humanity – Friday November 18, 2011 – Pastor Anita

God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life…(John 3:16 CEV).

The scripture above is perhaps the most popular verse in the Bible, but many haven’t understood the power of it. It reveals God’s great love for humanity. He loved the world of human beings so much, as sinful and wicked as they were, that He gave His only Son, Jesus to die in their place.

Doesn’t it amaze you that even when Adam sinned back in the Garden of Eden, it was God who came looking for him (Genesis 3)? Adam was hiding from God, because he had sinned, yet God still covered his unclothedness with animal skin, showing that He loved him. The Bible says “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 4:10).

So clearly, God demonstrated His great and boundless love for us, while we were yet in sin. Perhaps you’re not born again and you’re wondering, “Can God possibly love someone like me?” Emphatically yes! No matter what kind of life you may have lived, you can take advantage of His great love today.

Then for you that are born again, now that you know how much God loved the world of sinners, think about how much more He loves you! The Bible says, “…if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life (Romans 5:10). If He loved the world of sinners, He certainly loves you even more. Galatians 6:10 enjoins us to do good unto all men, especially to them of the household of faith. This shows the Lord especially regards His children highly.

Take advantagIe of His great love today. Refuse to settle for poverty, sickness and failure, for God has given you all things that pertain to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). He did all this because of His great love for you. Have faith and confidence in His love today.

Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for lavishing your love on me. I am so glad that you sent Jesus to die for me, and I am even more glad to be your offspring today. Help me, I pray, to comprehend the length, breadth and height of your love, which surpasses knowledge, in Jesus’ Name. Amen

Relate To God From Your Spirit – Wednesday November 16, 2011 – Pastor Chris
By Diane Maartens in Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional · Edit Doc
What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also (1 Corinthians 14:15).

God is a Spirit and you can only relate with Him from your spirit. Sometimes when we tell people to relate to God from their spirit they don’t seem to know what to do. They wonder whether to raise their hands, leap and shout, or just stay still. The Bible says they that worship God, must worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23). The Apostle Paul gives us an idea of how to relate to the Lord from your spirit when he said in 1 Corinthians 14:14, “For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.”

When you pray in tongues, it’s your spirit that’s praying; you’re communing with the Lord from your spirit; your inner man is activated to hear and receive from God. Notice what we read in our opening verse: “What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also.” He didn’t say “I will pray with understanding, and I will pray with the spirit also.” Praying with the spirit takes the precedence.

The Bible says “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost” (Jude 1:20). Praying in the spirit, or praying by the power of the Holy Spirit is more important than all the most intelligent words you could ever utter to God in your understanding. That’s why it’s important that you pray earnestly with the spirit, in other tongues, all the time. Paul said, “I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all” (1 Corinthians 14:18). Little wonder therefore that he recorded such phenomenal successes and victories in his personal life, and gloriously fulfilled his destiny in God.

Prayer
Dear Father, I’m strengthened by the Spirit through the Word today as I speak in other tongues; I’m built up from within like an edifice, charged with divine fire-power! My spirit is open to receive from you, as you lead me to know and walk in your perfect will, in Jesus’ Name.

more often than not, generational curses tend to show up in relationships- marriages, etc.

are some black men more susceptible or is this my imagination.

Yes generational curses are real and they tarry over generations
But when a person gets born again automatically, those curses become null
But there are some cases where the individual needs to be ministered to
So, if for instance that person is aware of these curses, he can visit his pastor for counseling and prayers

Some churches take the new converts through some weeks of teachings
This is of utmost importance because the person in question should know what baptism is all about before venturing into it.
They are taken from the meaning of baptism to baptism proper
So that they can also educate people on the need for baptism and the proper way to be baptized

Don’t Joke Against The Word! – Tuesday November 15, 2011 – Pastor Anita
By Diane Maartens in Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional · Edit Doc
But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned (Matthew 12:36-37).

Some Christians, in their confessions, are sometimes positive, and some other times negative, and that’s the reason they experience “up” and “downs” in their lives. Having made a wrong confession they’d say: “I didn’t really mean what I said,” or “I was only joking when I said that.” Well, in the realm of the spirit, you have whatsoever you say, whether or not you meant it. In Mark 11:23, Jesus didn’t say “You shall have whatsoever you mean,” He said “You shall have whatsoever you say.”

If you must make a joke, let it be positive, and don’t joke against the Word. Don’t make careless statements, for they’ll produce results for you. That’s why you must say only what you mean, and be sure it’s consistent with the Word.

Jesus said “…by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned” (Matthew 12:37). In the realm of the spirit, words are extremely important. Interpreting the Master’s words above literally means, a man will go to heaven or hell because of what he said or didn’t say. But beyond that, your life is the character of your words. If a man’s words are confusing, his life will be confusing. In the same way, if man’s words are wholesome, his life will be wholesome. This is why you must watch what you say!

Prayer
Dear Father, thank you for teaching me about the power of my words. Through your Word, and by your Spirit, I’m culturing my tongue to speak only faith-filled words! No unwholesome communication is allowed to proceed from my mouth. I speak only life giving words that are consistent with your plans and purposes for my life, and I declare that my future is secure in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The Cure For Sin – Monday November 14, 2011 – Pastor Chris
By Diane Maartens in Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional · Edit Doc
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace (Romans 6:13-14).

As one who is born again, you no longer have a problem with sin. This is because the nature of sin has been replaced with the nature of righteousness. Some Christians still struggle with sin because they lack sufficient information from the Word of God about who they are in Christ. The Christian is dead to sin, you need to realize what that means; it means sin, shall not have dominion over you; the power of sin over you is completely destroyed.

Some are in places where all they hear about is sin, so sin becomes the focus because they’ve been taught that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. That’s not the Gospel. It’s better to light a candle than to curse darkness. Therefore, it’s no use talking or complaining about darkness when you can simply turn the light on. God sent us to preach the Gospel, not sin, and the Gospel is good news. The Gospel to the sinner is that by virtue of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, he’s been made righteous.

Jesus was made sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). Therefore rather than preach sin, preach its cure – righteousness. Jesus Christ has made us free from sin and sin consciousness. Christians who still have problems with sin and sin-consciousness are those who are dominated by their senses: “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin” (Romans 6:6).

Sin has no power over the new creation and should not be the focus. You can live righteously; it begins with being conscious that you’re the righteous and not a sinner, and then talking and living that way. Righteousness is the cure for sin.

Confession
Dear Father, thank you for giving me your righteousness as a gift and inspiring in me the day-to day consciousness that I’m as righteous as Jesus is righteous. The old nature was crucified with Christ, thus I’m dead to sin, but alive unto God, having put on the new man, which is created in the image and likeness of my heavenly Father.

Romans 10:6-10
But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from abovesmiley Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Created In His Image – Saturday November 12, 2011
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:23-24).

The natural man, the man who is not yet born again has his understanding of spiritual truths darkened. He is estranged from the life of God because of his ignorance and the blindness or hardness of his heart. “Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart” (Ephesians 4:18).

But for you that are born again, you have the life of Christ in you; you have God’s nature, which is completely contrary to the flesh. When you believed in your heart and confessed the Lordship of Jesus with your mouth, you were at once recreated in righteousness and true holiness, after the image of Christ.

Unlike the unregenerate man, you’re not spiritually separated from God; you’re alive to the fatherhood of God. The Bible says now are we the sons of God (1 John 3:2), therefore it’s not blasphemous for you to declare that you’re an associate of the God-kind; you have a sonship relationship with the Lord: “And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father” (Galatians 4:6).

You’re now a partaker of the divine nature, and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him (Colossians 3:10). Operate in this new realm of life – where you know you have the life and nature of God in you.

Confession
I’m excited about my new life in Christ. I’ve passed from death to life; from sin to righteousness; from sickness to health; from poverty to wealth. I have the life and nature of God in me; I’ve put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness, and true holiness. Praise the Lord!

But ye have not so learned Christ; If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

“Such As You Have… Give!” – Tuesday November 8, 2011 – Pastor Chris.

Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength (Acts 3:6-7).

Jesus said in Mark 16:17-18 “…these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” He didn’t say we should negotiate with sickness; He said heal the sick. Lay your hands on the sick and they shall recover. The apostles didn’t just pray for those who were sick; they healed them. Peter healed the crippled man at the gate of the temple called Beautiful. He said to the man: “…Look on us” (Acts 3:4).

The impotent man, expecting to receive alms, gave Peter and John his attention, but Peter didn’t have any money on him at the time. But he knew he had something greater than money; the Name of Jesus. Hence he said to the impotent man, “…silver and gold have I none, but such as I have give I thee…” Peter made a demand on the Name of Jesus and a miracle took place. He transmitted the power of God into the man’s body using the Name of Jesus.

It reminds me of a certain lady who came to one of our meetings. She was confined to a wheelchair because she was unable to walk. I had preached during the service on the Name of Jesus and as I looked at her, I noticed she had been crying, and I said to her, “In the Name of Jesus, get up.” She leapt off the wheelchair instantly, walking and praising God. I had something to give.

We’ve been given the power of attorney to use the Name of Jesus. You can bless your world with the Name of Jesus and the life of God in you. When you make a demand on that Name, miracles take place. Your hands are not empty; they are divine instruments through which eternal life flows. So you have something to give; something with which to bless the world.

Confession

Dear Father, I thank you for your pulsating life that permeates my entire being, and with which I bless my world today. I’m conscious that I have something to give; therefore I distribute the blessings of the Kingdom to those I come in contact with today. This is an awesome privilege and I’m grateful to you for it, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Your Talk Is your Future – Wednesday November 9, 2011 – Pastor Anita
By Diane Maartens in Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional · Edit Doc
For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned (Matthew 12:37).

Your mouth wasn’t given to you for eating and talking only. It’s the tool with which you chart your course in life. Letting us know the power and importance of your words, Proverbs 18:21 says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” What you say with your mouth will affect the course of your destiny, positively or negatively. The quality of your life today is the direct result of your tongue-work. Your talk is your destiny. How important this is!

The difference between the man who’s born again and the one who’s not, for example, isn’t that one goes to church and the other doesn’t. Rather, it’s majorly the fact that the one who is born again has said something with his mouth, which the man who isn’t born again is yet to say. The Bible says “…with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:10).

The one who is born again believed with his heart, and confessed with his mouth the Lordship of Jesus according to the Scriptures, and that catapulted him into salvation. As it’s true for being born again, so it is for enjoying the benefits of salvation. Health, prosperity, joy, peace, success and victory are all yours according to the Bible, but you won’t enjoy them unless you confess with your mouth that they are yours. Confession is speaking the same things with God in consent; believing what He has said about you and speaking forth the same.

It’s not enough to believe that what God says belongs to you is yours; you’ve got to say it. What you say with your mouth determines the direction of your life. You are today the harvest of your tongue-work. If perchance you’re not satisfied with your present state of life, then you must change your talk. Begin to talk right. Refuse to think and talk negatively. Talk yourself up, and talk you way forward. Chart your course in the direction of God’s perfect will for your life with your tongue.

Confession
I’m a partaker of the divine nature; an associate of the God-kind! Health, peace, joy, prosperity, victory and the glorious life are my present-hour inheritance. I’ve been born into the life of dominion, success and joy. My life is for the glory of God. Hallelujah

For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
