Car Talk / Re: 2012 Honda Accord P0011 Is Killing Me by Macmilla(m): 6:43pm On Feb 17
Sirnioking:
Thanks bros. I will order a new one with the part number you recommended.
So have you fixed this problem? I have exact same code after rebuilding my engine. But it is showing as PENDING CODE P0011. I don't really understand what "pending" means, but I've erased the code several times and it keeps coming back as pending code. All other codes that came up after the work has been rectified but this pending code P0011 has refused to stay away. I'm scratching my head cos I've replaced VVT solenoid (this cleared the p0341 code I had). I've cleaned the vtec solenoid screen (this fixed P2646). My VTC actuator doesn't look touched and doesn't rattle. It was working perfectly before the rebuild and I don't want to just keep throwing parts at it. Also Honda didn't mention the actuator under this code.
Also, why does it keep appearing as Pending code?

How about the intake camshaft solenoid? It might be bad, or the tiny filters might be blocked.
You mean the VTC solenoid? That has been cleaned and tested. It seemed ok to me. But I might just replace it and see.

So I remember when I had a similar problem with my 2001 accord after major engine work. details can be seen here
https://www.nairaland.com/2646185/p1259-vtec-system-malfunction
GAZZUZZ and Adanny01 were so helpful.

It ended up being wrong timing setting of the oil pump. I'm strongly suspecting my current problem is same as that. I'll check the oil pump timing today and see what I'll find.
Ok. This did not work. I reset both my cam timing and my oil pump timing l, (both were not set correctly) but the check light reappeared next morning with exact same codes (p0011 and p0341). So I still need help. I'll start throwing parts at it.

Please I have a question for the Aliexpress gurus in the house , ordered an Anker speaker from Aliexpress since Nov 27 and it has been stuck on a particular

"Departed for transit country" since the 2nd of December.

Reached out to the seller they said I should open a dispute.

Should I be worried?
Then open dispute. What are you worried about?

I've replaced the VTC strainer and cleaned the VTC solenoid but problem persisted and codes keep coming back after one or two engine starts.
Please what is the next thing to do?

Honda/Acura any day and any time for me.
Note that the mdx is not very fuel economical. I don't know about the others you mentioned.

The plastic bottle is made from recycled material, the print is different, also it has a DOT MATRIX print of some numbers on the bottle body.
Please, if it's not too much stress, can you show us pictures of this things you mentioned. Like "Real vs Fake" Honda ATF.

Cos me I'm not educated enough to know what "dot matrix print of numbers" is.

Omo. So which is the safest bet that one can easily tell which is original?
Omo! I don't know o. They say we should just buy from know suppliers like Hondajosh here on nairaland. But our use of Honda cars can not depend on just one person on an online platform. It doesn't make sense at all. The oil full konga with price ranging from 4k to 15k for the 1litre, but you don't know what you are ordering. It's just frustrating.

Who noticed that buying stuffs locally in Nigeria is cheaper than buying on Aliexpress?
Very true. As long as you can find the item in the market, go for it in Nigeria.

Honda oil is definitely a good oil. However, nobody can tell you if it's genuine, especially by looking at just pictures.
Same goes for Honda DW-1 ATF. You can't tell if what you are buying is original.

Kindly share your petrol expenditure daily , weekly or monthly.

Highly appreciated.

My 2005 Honda Accord 4cyl takes roughly a full tank per month (#45,000). Only goes to work and back. Work is not that far, but some days I go to work twice.
Car is smoking a bit, so I'm preparing for an engine rebuild.

E go shock una that this offer, as miserable as it is, is actually better 90% teaching jobs in Nigeria. Private school owners are the WORST employers ever. Imagine a school that students pay 80k-150k paying it's teachers 20k. Is that not slavery? Private school owners are EVIL.

Help!
My 2005 accord 4cy is catless, so I used a spacer (pictured below) to try to eliminate the low efficiency code. Now I have the p0139. I'm confused.

Note: Before I got this spacer, I plugged the sensor hole with a spoilt sensor and left my working sensor under the passenger car seat but connected. I had it like this for a month while I was waiting for the spacer to arrive and there was absolutely no exhaust related codes. No cat codes and no sensor codes. But as soon as I installed the working sensor in its proper hole with the spacer, I got the p0139 on first drive. Please what did I do wrong?
Did I spoil my sensor when fixing it back? Or I should just throw it back under the seat and plug the exhaust hole? (The sensor under the seat gets hot, but not hot enough to burn or melt anything).
Car Talk / Re: Explaining Catalysts And Catalyst Codes by Macmilla(m): 9:24am On Jan 18
nissparts:
Continued:

When your vehicle has a catalyst issue, there are 2 alternative fixes

1. Replace the catalyst with a brand new unit(Note I said brand new unit. If you attempt a tokunbo replacement, you'll either get one which has been filled with the "ladipo" element in the exhaust pot or you'll get one fresh off a used vehicle which may have also failed as well)

2. Hollow out the exhaust pots and rid them completely of the foamy/netty substance inside them. Now because your car's computer has been programmed to accept a certain level of exhaust fumes to be detected by the monitoring o2 sensor, the consequent rush of exhaust fumes which it will detect in the absence of the foamy/netty substance will signal a red flag and you will get catalyst codes. Therefore to complete the fix, you must install an oxygen sensor spacer to limit the fumes seen by the monitoring o2 sensor. See attached. The spacer is screwed into the oxygen sensor before finally being screwed into the exhaust.

Whichever route you take out of the 2 options, a "self-learn reset" (google it) must be carried out to get maximum benefits from the repair.

Cheers
Old post, pardon me.

Finally had time to do this This Yule (actually doing a lot piled up DIYs). I remember running for months with an improperly covered transmission dipstick earlier when I got this ride, that added more reason for me to do this...

Materials:
1. 10" wrench
2. New transmissions filter (P/N: 25430-PLR-003, got the OEM)
3. NOSE pliers
4. Rag
Old post, but I have a question.
Are you saying there's no internal filter on this car?
I'm having an issue with mine and the technician says they will drop the gearbox, tear it apart, so they can change the filter. I'm not understanding.

I saw this black car that look like deep touch of blue. I ask people is this not black color they said it’s black but look like black. it look like black with mix of deep navy blue. Although its black like deep blue. Its black that has this deep blue in it.

And i want to paint my Accord to that color. But. Confused I don’t know how to explain it.

The type of black colored cars i keep seeing around i don’t like them. The dull black gray i like that too.

Does any one here know of something like that that black navy blue color?
Omo! Black that look like black. My confusion is confused.
