Food / Truly, You Are What You Eat by madeonline(m): 12:05pm On Sep 14, 2021
A French proverb states, "Tell me what you eat and I will tell you what you are."

Truly,  you are what you eat.

We cannot overemphasize the need for healthy eating and living. Going natural has been proven to be the best approach to healthy living.
Healthy living is not for the fathers alone, it is for all members of the family. However, an enlightened Father is in a better position to support the efforts of our mothers to ensure we all eat right. It is not an exclusive right of the super rich also, you do not have to be rich before you eat what is natural, right and good for your body.

As we age, we deplete natural enzymes that help the body to function efficiently. The human body is like a mechanical device, machine or car. In this case, it is more delicate, it is living and irreplaceable and it has no spare parts. We all know the importance of taking our cars for periodic maintenance at mechanic shops to stop that creaking sound and fix that tear before the whole car collapses. So also we need to maintain our body with natural food - fruits, vegetables, proteins and where they are not readily available natural and healthy food supplements.

No man buys a new car and refuses to service it or top the oil ... just driving recklessly for 30 years. If he does the car would not last, same way everyone must eat natural products to service the body and make the body self repair itself. Prevention is better than cure.
"Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." Mat 26:41
When the Bible admonishes us to watch and pray ...part of the things to watch is what we eat, so that we don't have cause to be "praying ailments" away in future.

What we eat is exactly who we are, feeding the body what would enhance the ability of the body to self repair and NOT what would damage the body. Sometimes finding these high quality, healthy, natural and nutritional foods/fruits which contain rare micro nutrients may be very tedious and costly, because most of them are seasonal and not well preserved in their natural state in developing nations.
This is the reason why my company, through well researched and patented technology, has brought them to our convenience, on our dining tables as potent powdery beverages!

Business / Setting Long Range Business Goals by madeonline(m): 3:11pm On Feb 23, 2017
Goal setting is a vital element for sustaining any business. The ability to set and achieve short term goals would ensure businesses continue to deliver value on daily basis, by extension keep up with operation demands or expenses, whilst the ability to set, work towards achieving, achieve or surpass long term goals would allow for the organization to maintain its going concern.

Consequently, it is imperative for business leaders to understand how to set long term goals; below is a simplified guide in 10 steps.

1. Ask and answer the following questions:
What does the company intend to achieve in the next 10 years?
What must the company do to achieve these landmarks?
Where must the company be positioned, situated or made strategically visible to enable progress?
What assets - human capital and factors of production, must the company acquire to attain desired next levels?
How does the company intend to give back to immediate and remote environment as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)?

2. Attempt to answer each question using numbered bullet points on a separate piece of paper. You may want to engage all the leaders in the company during a strategy meeting in order to harness valuable stakeholder’s inputs for long range goal setting. Ensure there are about 20 to 50 distinct answers for each question.
3. Ascribe realistic timelines in years (1, 2 3, 4 ...) to each of the suggested answers, possibly as superscripts.
4. Reshuffle each list to show balance in goal setting for each year - year 1, 2 , 3 , 4 ... possibly to year 10.
5. Prioritize the listed goals derived from each question - this is a critical step in this task. Recall about 50 answers were collated per question; there would be a need to rank possible options in order of feasibility and priority.
6. Write short reasoning/descriptive essays on each of the top 10 priority items; give reasons for wanting each. If you are unable to muscle good reasons for any item, strike it off the list!
7. Select 4 top priorities from each category to have 20 long range goals or focus areas.
8. Compile these 20 goals in a long term goal journal or company’s 5-year or 10-year plan document as the case maybe.
9. Review the selected goals on weekly basis, feel free to strike out those accomplished or those that are no longer relevant or value adding in line with realistic operational / business environment.
10. Engage your Financial Advisor as part of weekly reviews; ultimately well planned goals should positively impact both the company's corporate existence/image and financial bottom-line.

correct, i agree with you on this. also the other concrete wall is not on a rocky formation buy a sandy one with bamboo trees adjacent to reflect proximity to a river/stream path. Double wall would not suffice for that swampy formation, concrete raft as done is the best option. You guys have two different geological terrians
EgunAnigilaje:

Personally, I would trust the judgement of the local artisans on the ground. I did.

You're building a fence on rock solid ground and not building Cocoa House on swampy land.

They don't even need to carry the double wall past the level of the soil being retained.

Foundation (base) for the fence work. No need for a sub base as you are building on a weathered granite which itself is stronger than laterite

Business / Why Do Boreholes Collapse In Lagos by madeonline(m): 5:13am On Jul 11, 2015
Why do boreholes collapse in Lagos

Borehole failure can be described as the instability of subsurface strata due to inadequate compaction and inability of the bored well to perform up to its installed capacities.
This is due to
1 Low quantity of cement materials (clay) and inadequate compaction
2 High hydraulic conductivity of the concerned loose layer
3 Vibration of the ground from adjacent vibrating source.
4 Excessive withdrawal from adjacent well.
5 Wrong screening of the pipe and use fake water pump etc
NOTE: This is also applicable to basement complex areas like Ibadan , Ilorin, Akure, Ondo etc

Why do you need geophysical survey before drilling a borehole

Although one can come across water at any depth in a sedimentary environment like Lagos (the reason for so many “successful” shabbily executed shallow holes in Lagos) however there is more to borehole drilling and construction than just locating the depth to water table.
Geophysical exploration helps in locating region of abnormal water potential (high hydraulic conductivities) hence give information about the subsurface region that is prone to possible collapse. It helps to demarcate fresh water and salt water boundary especially in places close to the coastal region of Lagos (Lekki and environ). It particularly differentiates between regional water table (main aquifer) from perched or local water level which are usually polluted and inadequate for prolong use. Etc

SUGGESTED SOLUTIONS
1. Contact, consult and/or contract only experts in the field from project conception to execution.
2. Have a clear and deep understanding of the geology of the area (your site) before developing a site plan or erecting permanent structures (ensure your soak away is not sited on the best and only aquifer with your site or neighbourhood).
3. Carry out detailed geophysical appraisal of the proposed site to reduce future wastages and ensure engineering and architectural best practices.
4. Use well formulated drilling mud during construction of borehole to prevent failure.
5. Insist on having a project report with drillers/well log for convenient and smart borehole maintenance.
6. Beware of quack Doodle buggers or ensure you have a maintenance commitment/agreement if you must use one.

Foreign Affairs / Lessons From The Obama Vigil by madeonline(m): 5:31am On Oct 04, 2012
October 3, 2012, some hours after Mubi masacre and whilst River Niger is still ravaging floods across several states locally, some Nigerians kept vigil seeing Obama vs Roomney presidential debate. That is fair and a matter of personal choice for concern or media consumption.

However, we have a long journey to civility in this corner of the world ... rather than make our Presidential debate system work or mourn the absence of a quality one in our life time (recall the charades of stand up comedy and melody drama that lacked accountability calls and sensibility chat we have always grudgingly endured and dismissed in our election years), we are here online scoring Obama and hailing Roomney as though that would make us American collegiate electorates overnight!

We really need to start demanding our basic rights sequel to future elections in Nigeria. It is not enough to queue for hours to get voters cards and vote in ballots that do not really end up counting, we need to start asking salient questions on Nigerians stewardship to Nigeria and getting answers too , else it does not worth all the billions wasted in the name of election/selection.

Finally, I hope none of those Nigerians who wait to leave the corridors of power in Abuja would spoil my mood online with an American Presidential chat commentary or column in a National daily, I keep wandering why they all get booted out of Aso Rock corridors before they start making seemingly reasonable, people-centric commentaries/arguments! We surely have had so many non-performers in our corridors of power for too long, an average youth in Nigeria is desperate in need of a good leadership model in Politics!

Good day fellow Nigerians, my apologies for dulling part of the brightness of the day, I could not just stomach our misplaced priorities ...commentaries on twitter/fb won't make our scary moments fantasies, let us wake up!
