Oh so when you opt out, you get all your reimbursements 🤔
You opt-out and request the money contributed. In the NHS, if you've worked for less than 2 years, you're entitled to a refund. Don't know how other organizations work.

The devil is in the details. You may have ‘lost’ more money than you think/thought.

My understanding of withdrawing your pension contributions within 2 years is:
1. Your pension contribution has to be a defined benefit scheme.
2. You only get refunded your own contribution. All employer contribution is lost, forever. For example, if your contribution was 5% and your employer was contributing 5% too then you may have a personal contribution of £10,000 where half of that (£5,000) is your contributions while the other half is your employer contribution.

When you want to withdraw within 2 years, you are only eligible to withdraw £5,000. The other £5000 is gone like the wind.

It gets even more interesting.
You haven’t just ‘lost’ £5000.

Let’s look at what happens to your own £5000

3. You will be charged a 20% tax on that 5k (I hope my dearest sister MissJekyll doesn’t instigate Rachel Reeves to increase that to 40%).

20% of £5,000 = £1,000
Therefore you are only eligible to get £5000 - £1000 = £4,000

It doesn’t end there.

The pension funds company (we called them Pension fund administrators back then in Naija) e.g Royal London or Nest, or NOW-Pensions or Aviva or AJ Bell or Aegon etc… will take their own cut, it’s usually small. For argument sake, let’s put it at 1%. 1/100 x 4,000 = £40

Total deduction = £1,040

Your take home = £3,960 cash.
Happy right?

How much have you ‘lost’?

£10,000 - £3,960 = £6,040

£6,040 is your loss. That’s not such a big loss, is it?
Well, I calculated the risks and benefits. I am to retire after 37 years of service. Removing myself From the pension scheme for two years and contributing to the pot for 35 years doesn't make any significant difference.
Money will be used to get into the property ladder and have a lodger who will pay rent monthly to me.
In the long term, I will still gain a lot from increases in the value of the house and money from rent.

Hello fam. Pls what do you think of opting out of pension plans in the workplace here?
I opted out of my pension and took a refund of the pension paid in close to two years. Part of the money was deposited in LISA towards getting a mortgage.
As a single man, I should be able to afford a 3-bedroom End terrace building at 10% deposit in less than two years in the UK. Plus other fees associated with getting a mortgage.

Thank you,
She was refused last year, in that application she used an agent that stated she earns 1.5m monthly, which I think is too much, can we reduce the figure for this application? Or must we use the same figures we gave last time?

In this new application we are thinking of reducing her salary to about 800k as it makes more sense since her Account balance is about 3m.
Hope this would not be an issue?
For more context she own a bakery.

No I don’t mind showing my three months payslip, I intend to show three months payslip along with my bank statement.

In most Nigerian homes especially from the older generation, the father is the breadwinner and the mom is like a housewife who earns next to nothing.
It is acceptable for you to invite your mom to the UK if she's a housewife who resides in a house owned by her husband.
Also, you have to state you will be responsible for her time and sponsor the whole trip.
I believe that 5-6k in your account is enough and 3-6 months of payment slips. You don't need to inflate her monthly income.

Osimhen is not a profilic goalscorer as far as AFCON is concerned.

He was the most wasteful out of all the players.

Lookman or Moffi is our best best for tomorrow, when we are looking for goals.
You're not watching nig games. Osimhen is completely closed marked. Our goals had to come from the wingers. The only option is a 2 central forward and two wings. We didn't have good Advanced playmaker and central mid to break opposition defense.

Osimhen na the Ijaya of Africa.

No luck with plenty goals but his presence alone dey shake and tear defences.

BTW, that Moffi that replaced Osimhen hot like fire oo 🔥

We need to watch out for that guy. He spent few minutes and his impact was massive.
I don't know why the coach is not pairing him with Victor. When it is glaring that Victor is always marked by two defenders. The reason the low goals scored by Super Eagles.
The wingers ( Lookman, Chukwueze and Moses) are not potent goal scorers.

Part of your requirements for a successful visa application, is accomodation suitability......... You would also have to submit your tenancy agreement, to support MIL application....... I don't think the accommodation, in its present form is suitable....... But what do I know........😀

Abi you wan dey explain to home office, you go explain you go tire ...... No evidence.......😄🌹
I am not sure this carries more weight to get a successful application. I did mine for someone, without submitting any tenancy agreement. I think My bank statements covers that aspect. The person got visit visa few days ago.

Well, Iwobi still had a hand in the second goal even though several of his plays were annoying.

Cut the coach some slack please.
That was only Iwobi impact on the game. The reason he was the Playmaker on that day.
The game strategy had three creative players: Simon, Lookman and Iwobi, to break the opposition's defense and connect the ball to your top Nine, ( Oshimen).
If you watch the match clearly, Oshimen had to come to the midfield to get the ball.
Don't praise Iwobi for that fluke, he has been a mediocre player all through this tournament. Top Coaches like Pep, Mourinho, Kloop, etc would have moved and criticized him despite that single involvement in the goal.

Thinking of it, it's been a long long time since Nigeria has had a very good tactically sound defence as in this tournament.

They restricted Cameroon to the extent that those ones did not have a single attempt towards goal. No scoring chance for the entire game.

An excellent defence can win you a tournament.

In the front Osimhen and Lookman high pressed and defended like mad men. Great work by the boys.

Peseiro has done a wonderful job so far.

Poor ability to change the game. Iwobi and Simon should have been out.

Iwobi is just the worst player in this team. No support and can't even create chances.

Remove Moses Simon - I don't even know his input and play another advanced playmaker or midfielder. Or player two center Forward. Oshimen is marked out.

This one is another Chinedu in the making.. he left his father side (Yoruba) to open school to teach language of his mother side (Igbo) in a Yoruba State (Lagos)..

Watch all inter-tribal marriages between Yorubas and Igbos.. if the husband is Yoruba, the wife (Igbo) will make it a duty to teach the kids Igbo language and give them Igbo names in addition to their Yoruba names, then the docile Yoruba men will be there lost and helpless.
But let it be Igbo man that married Yoruba woman.. the Igbo man will make sure the kids bear only Igbo names and identify as Igbo. Same thing with Hausas.

I don't know why Yorubas are like that.. too dull, docile infact all the words to qualify weak can be ascribed to our men. Shioor!
It's not being dull or docile, but too liberal. Liberalisim entails losing your some of your core heritage and culture, and accepting all manner of BS.

I am sorry but most Yoruba men are irresponsible. Ask Yoruba women married to Igbo men, they will tell you that Igbo men don't joke with their family.

If you are an irresponsible man you want your wife and children to still adore you, bros park one side. grin
