Throwback: The greatest advise to parents is to start saving for their children's university education while they are just starting the secondary school.
If the UK we all run to study can charge £9000 per university session for local students, then our public universities should be able to charge nothing less than N400k per session for Nigerian students.
Meanwhile, vocational training centers should be made very affordable too. Like N100k per year. Not just saving. Reducing given birth to much children. A working wife and husband with a child can easily afford this fee incremnent. When a low-income couple starts birthing 5 to 8 children, those are the people that will find it difficult to pay. |

Stevepop: To the glory of God, we completed the purchase of our house (new build) last week. Mentally exhausting but totally worth it. Mortgage was with Halifax (90% LTV). Relatively smooth process with attentive mortgage brokers and pro-active solicitors. We had our snagging on Friday and all issues were cosmetic, which made me so happy 'cos of the horror stuffs I've read about new builds.
Monthly mortgage is about £400 above our previous rent, we fixed for 2 years so hopefully, there will be some calm in the interest rate by the time we re-mortgage.
Grateful to everyone for the invaluable comments and advice. Congratulations. Hoping to join the train a year from now. Although, might be shared ownership. Until then, I will keep reading and get the needed motivation. |

A country that operates base on tribal and religious sentiment can never make any reasonable progress so let's stop lying to ourselves. The mentality of i won`t support if he or she is not from my tribe or religion shud be eradicated if we wanna make progress. I can comfortably say that 90% of Nigerians on this platform that are against Osihmen winning that award do that as a result of either religious difference or tribal difference that`s why we`ll always be backward as a country. White leaders are building skyscrapers and electric vehicles, promoting equality, eradicating poverty, ensuring the environment is suitable for humans to reside and trying to conquer the earth and the galaxies. But Yoruba leaders; their strength is in marrying many women and procreating numerous unknown children. |

You have established how horrible she is, but I'd suggest you just pay her and see how things progress. Was she this horrible before or after you delayed on your rent?
Two wrongs can never make a right!!! That was my initial question when he first made the complaint. You owed your LL rent and had the guts to sublet. Coming here to play the victim card. Sickening. The worse is that other people here didn't condemn him. Total BS!! Until your house owner's mortgage gets repossessed. No one is seeing the anger of the house owner. |

Just ask yourself.... if Jesus comes to judge the church ... do you think he would say the church going into sport and offering tertiary education is a welcome development? The church can also be regarded as a community. Community implies diverse people with similar interests coming together for a common goal. With diverse people entails different skills that need to be developed and wants that should be fulfilled . Therefore, everything can't be dogmatic. |

pretty1986: Good evening My Boss,I really appreciate all your contribution in this wonderful family and may God continue to bless and give you wisdom to direct us.Pls sir I have this idea want to share with you and I want you to tell me if is feasible and advice me how best to apply it.My Wife is a Registered Nurse here in Nigeria, but want to relocate to uk to practice, but due to Nigeria is in Red list, which make it very difficult for Nigeria nurses to get job offer in uk while in Nigeria. Now,she is planning to get admission in a University in uk for Masters degree program in Public health which is a One year course,so that when she enter uk through study route with her NMCUK documents and write her OSEC in order to get UK Pin as a uk Registered Nurse, then she use it to get job in uk as a Nurse while studying.when she then finish her study, she will then switch to 2teir visa and get COS to bring her family.pls sir, what can you advise in this idea .I hope to hear from you Sir.Thanks Justwise. Your wife should keep trying. NHS needs nurses and no end in sight . That Msc money is best to use it as down payment for mortgage if eventually she gets one. Doing Msc for a qualified nurse is a waste of money. Lots of Nigerian nurses just went to school of nursing ( advanced diploma) and they are getting NHS jobs. |

Schoolhike: Need advice for a friend.
She got a band 3 (mental health support) job from NHS and got another one as Administrative Officer with one government department both of the same salary.
Asking which offer a more progression.
Don’t consider sponsorship in advice.
I don’t also know what to advice, reason for posting here. I will go for the bold. Rationale: for a Nigerian that just came to the UK and will require extra hours to make more money, Mental health support would afford you that opportunity. You can even do bank work in another organization and the pay is more. Some Trusts can sponsor a master's or even a Bachelor's In a related field. Most of us came here with less than a bachelor's. Therefore, progressing to band 6 is quicker since you have work experience. NHS is keen on staff retention and doing everything possible to support staff career advancement. |

However, I got a job as a food safety admin/quality officer in a company but the pay is just £20k annually. What do you guys think? Should I take the offer? What's the prospect in the field here in the UK? I need your advice. Thanks. With a Carer some trusts can sponsor to train as a nursing associate which is a path to becoming a nurse or some trusts also do Occupational and Physiotherapy Apprentice programs to become qualified. |

By the way who begs for money at the individual level or seek for aids? The birth rate in the UK is dropping and people living longer. The UK elites need to preserve their wealth. Therefore skilled workers are necessary to be able to compete at equal or higher levels with China, the USA, and other EU countries. Where else can they attract this type of educated workers? Former colonies aka Children of the monarchy. |
