Congratulatory messages have continued to come in from different groups in recognition and also to identify with the new President General of Association of Southwest Igbo Town Unions (ASWITU), Prince Erondu Uche(Onyeoma diohanma Ndigbo).

In a Press conference held in Johannesburg, South Africa, the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo South Africa, Comrade Sunny – Wenike Douglas Ibojekere described Prince Erondu as a good leader, great achiever and a man who has many followers across the globe as a result of his good leadership qualities.
“Truly success is the fruit of good ideas pursued with energy, intelligence and determination. Prince Erondu’s election to this position once again reverberates the saying that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and allow things happen to them, rather they went out and happened to things. His, is a proven one. Prince Erondu Uche’s good leadership qualities have drawn to him many followers across the globe”. The South Africa’s Ohanaeze boss assured Prince Erondu of his group’s maximum support.

In the same manner, the President General of Igbo Delegates Assembly in 19 Northern states and Abuja, Chief Chikezie Nwogu has described Prince Erondu’s victory as an act of God, noting that it came at the right time. Speaking to newsmen in Kano over the the weekend, Chief Nwogu said that Prince Erondu is a great leader whose character is worthy of emulation. “When I got the news of Prince Erondu’s emergence as ASWITU President General, I knew that God has a hand in it, because there is a need for us Igbos here in the north to have an alliance with our brothers in the Southwest, with Prince Erondu at the helm of affairs, it is already achieved. I called him as soon as I got the news, we have also sent out a congratulatory message to him. Erondu is a good man, you need to work with him to understand what I mean, honestly, he should be one of the people managing this country”. He is good at what he does, Chief Nwogu added.

Others who in separate press releases and interviews felicitated with AWITU President General includes, Igbo World Assembly signed by Chief, Barr. Jeff Azubuike. Ebonyi State Association South Africa also published a congratulatory message in some Nigeria dailies signed by Dr. Fidelis Emeka Nwankwo (Odenigbo), the President General of the group. Others include, Concerned Citizens of Abia in Diaspora (CCAD) signed by HRH Eze J.I Ochonma, the Secretary General. Pan Nigeria Presidency of Igbo Extraction Coalition (PANPIEC) signed by Southeast coordinator, Chief Frank Obineme (Obu agu dindu) amongst others.

Prince Erondu Uche was on Novermber 28, 2021 elected the President General of Association of Southwest Igbo Town Unions (ASWITU). ASWITU is the umbrella body of all Igbo town unions, village meetings, associations, women and youth groups in Southwest Nigeria.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu on January 1st 2022, took his power display to a whole new dimension when he was denied entry into Magodo Brooks estate in Lagos State.

According to sources, he arrived at the gate of the estate for a party organised by an aide of former Lagos State governor, Babatunde Fashola.

Odumosu who used to be the chief security officer of former Lagos State governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was asked by the security team at the gate to call the resident before he is allowed in. Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has banned Nightclubs and prostitution in the state.

Wike gave the order in his New Yesr broadcast in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Wike banned nightclub activities including nighttime trading and street prostitution especially along Abacha road and surrounding streets particularly in the Casablanca area.

According to Wike, the move will “Stop the harmful effects of this depraved activities on the moral development of the children and society at large.”

However, it remains unclear how long the ban will last, but certainly, the Governor has less than two years left in office.

This revelation by Okonjo-Iweala is in sharp contrast to the picture that Chidoka was trying to paint in his response to Amaechi’s remark.

"Even though Amaechi may not have been 100 per cent accurate in what he said (politicians like to exaggerate the failures of their rivals), but things were not as rosy as the former Minister of Aviation wants us to believe. The economy was bleeding under Jonathan and the administration was desperately looking for funds to keep the government running.

"Another evidence that the economy under Jonathan was in a mess was the fact that from 2014 to May 2015 when Buhari took over, the GDP was in constant decline. It was not until 2017 that Buhari was able to arrest the decline and the economy recorded its first quarterly growth since 2014.

"Indeed, Amaechi was not far from the truth as GEJ handed over to Buhari an economy that was in terrible shape as well as high rate of insecurity," he concluded.

As the 2023 general election draws nearer,the governing political party as I prefer to call them,would be so profoundly foolish handling over its presidential ticket to any aspiring presidential candidate from the South eastern part of the country.
The reasons are not far fetch,they are alighted below:

1. There may not be APC anymore,if this great injustice should be done. Which is what most of the people from the South east wanted.
2. There will be disaffection among party faithful who will feel that they have been hard done by.
